14 Out: Bom Dia 🇧🇷 Liturgia Diária / Oct 14: Good Morning 🇺🇸 Daily Liturgy

Ai de vós, fariseus. Ai de vós também, mestres da Lei.
Woe to you, Pharisees. Woe to you too, masters of the Law.

1a.Leitura
– Palavra do Senhor.

1st. Reading
Reading the letter from St. Paul to the Galatians 5,18-25 - Brothers, 18 if you are led by the Spirit, then you are not under the yoke of the Law. , strife, jealousy, anger, intrigue, disagreement, factions, envy, drinking, orgies and the like. I warn you, as I have already done: those who practice these things will not inherit the Kingdom of God. 22But the fruit of the Spirit is: charity, joy, peace, long-suffering, kindness, kindness, loyalty, manners, continence. There is no law against these things. 24 Those who belong to Jesus Christ crucified the flesh with its passions and its evil desires. 25If we live by the Spirit, let us also act according to the Spirit, rightly. - Word of the Lord.

Salmo 1
Senhor, quem vos seguir terá a luz da vida!

Psalm 1
Lord, whoever follows you will have the light of life!
1. Happy is everyone who does not walk / according to the advice of the wicked; / who doesn't get in the way of the bad guys / nor will he sit next to the scoffers; / but finds his pleasure in the law of God / and meditates, day and night, without ceasing.
2. Behold, it is like a tree / which is planted at the edge of the torrent; / it always bears its fruits in due time † and its leaves will never wither. / Behold everything he does will prosper.
3. But quite another is the fate of the wicked. † On the contrary, they are the same as dry / scattered and wind-dispersed straw. / For God watches over the way of the elect, / but the road of the wicked leads to death.

Evangelho

Gospel
Proclamation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Luke 11,42-46 - At that time, the Lord said: 42 “Woe to you, Pharisees, because you pay the tithing of mint, rue and all other herbs, but leave aside justice and the love of God. You should practice this without leaving that aside. 43Woe to you, Pharisees, because you like the place of honor in synagogues and being greeted in public squares. 44 Woe to you, because you are like tombs that you cannot see, on which men walk without knowing ”. 45A master of the Law took the floor and said: “Master, speaking thus, you insult us too!” 46Jesus replied, "Woe to you too, teachers of the Law, because you place unbearable burdens on men and you do not touch those burdens yourself with one finger." - Word of salvation.

To think about
Jesus rebukes the Pharisees because they: 1) Stick to minuscule precepts, but forget the most important thing, namely, the justice and love of God. 2) They seek honors in synagogues and public squares. 3) Contaminate those who approach them with their addictions (v. 44). As for the specialists of the Law, Jesus accuses them of overloading the people with his laws, while they themselves avoid them. It was that they attached a lot of importance to secondary observances and neglected the essential. We can ask ourselves: among the many good works that we do, which ones are most pleasing to God?

To Pray
