João 1,45-51 - 45Filipe se encontrou com Natanael e disse: “Encontramos aquele de quem Moisés escreveu na Lei e também os profetas: é Jesus de Nazaré, o filho de José.” 46Natanael disse: “De Nazaré pode sair coisa boa?” Filipe respondeu: “Venha, e você verá.” 47Jesus viu Natanael aproximar-se e comentou: “Eis aí um israelita verdadeiro, sem falsidade.” 48Natanael perguntou: “De onde me conheces?” Jesus respondeu: “Antes que Filipe chamasse você, eu o vi quando você estava debaixo da figueira.” 49Natanael respondeu: “Rabi, tu és o Filho de Deus, tu és o rei de Israel!” 50Jesus disse: “Você está acreditando só porque eu lhe disse: ‘Vi você debaixo da figueira’? No entanto, você verá coisas maiores do que essas.” 51E Jesus continuou: “Eu lhes garanto: vocês verão o céu aberto, e os anjos de Deus subindo e descendo sobre o Filho do Homem.”

John 1,45-51 - 45Filipe met with Nathanael and said: “We found the one whom Moses wrote in the Law and also the prophets: he is Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.” 46Natanael said, "Can good things come out of Nazareth?" Philip replied: "Come, and you will see." 47Jesus saw Nathanael approaching and commented: "Here is a true Israelite, without falsehood." 48Natanael asked, "Where do you know me from?" Jesus replied, "Before Philip called you, I saw you when you were under the fig tree." 49Natanael replied, "Rabbi, you are the Son of God, you are the king of Israel!" 50Jesus said: "Are you believing just because I told you, 'I saw you under the fig tree'? However, you will see things bigger than that. ” 51And Jesus continued, "I assure you, you will see the open sky, and the angels of God ascending and descending on the Son of Man."

A pessoa autêntica não é aquela que vive questionando por questionar, não é aquela que fica colocando interrogações, duvidando de tudo e de todos. Não é aquela que vive só criticando e colocando problema em tudo. A pessoa autêntica é aquela que quer viver com autenticidade a sua verdadeira identidade, por isso ele pergunta o por que das coisas, para viver aquilo em verdade. E Natanael não só questiona, mas ele vai conferir, vai ver, vai correr atrás; e quando ele se encontra com Jesus, ele mesmo professa: “Rabi, tu és o Filho de Deus, tu és o Rei de Israel”. A pessoa autêntica é aquela que sabe dobrar suas próprias convicções. O orgulhoso não, ele sabe que está errado, que duvidou, questionou e prefere continuar na dúvida e no questionamento, criando sempre problemas para não reconhecer o que, de fato, ele tinha constatado de forma errada. O autêntico é humilde acima de todas as coisas, ele quer saber e reconhece que o que sabia era limitado e errado, e se põe a conhecer a verdade. Cativado por Jesus, Natanael tornou-se seu apóstolo e entusiasta pregador do evangelho.

The authentic person is not the one who keeps questioning for questioning, it is not the one who keeps asking questions, doubting everything and everyone. It is not one that lives only criticizing and posing problems in everything. The authentic person is the one who wants to live his true identity with authenticity, that's why he asks the why of things, in order to live that truth. And Nathanael not only questions, but he will check, he will see, he will chase; and when he meets Jesus, he himself professes: "Rabbi, you are the Son of God, you are the King of Israel". The authentic person is one who knows how to bend his own convictions. The proud no, he knows that he is wrong, that he doubted, questioned and prefers to continue in doubt and questioning, always creating problems to not recognize what, in fact, he had wrongly verified. The authentic is humble above all things, he wants to know and recognizes that what he knew was limited and wrong, and he begins to know the truth. Captivated by Jesus, Nathanael became his apostle and enthusiastic preacher of the gospel.
