Felizes os humildes de espírito, / porque deles é o Reino dos céus (Mt 5,3). – Proclamação do Evangelho de Jesus Cristo segundo Mateus 19,16-22 – Naquele tempo, 16alguém aproximou-se de Jesus e disse: “Mestre, o que devo fazer de bom para possuir a vida eterna?” 17Jesus respondeu: “Por que tu me perguntas sobre o que é bom? Um só é o Bom. Se tu queres entrar na vida, observa os mandamentos”. 18O homem perguntou: ” mandamentos?” Jesus respondeu: “Não matarás, não cometerás adultério, não roubarás, não levantarás falso testemunho, 19honra teu pai e tua mãe e ama teu próximo como a ti mesmo”. 20O jovem disse a Jesus: “Tenho observado todas essas coisas. O que ainda me falta?” 21Jesus respondeu: “Se tu queres ser perfeito, vai, vende tudo o que tens, dá o dinheiro aos pobres e terás um tesouro no céu. Depois, vem e segue-me”. 22Quando ouviu isso, o jovem foi embora cheio de tristeza, porque era muito rico. – Palavra da salvação.

Blessed are the lowly in spirit, / for theirs is the kingdom of heaven (Mt 5,3). - Proclamation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Matthew 19,16-22 - At that time, 16 someone approached Jesus and said: "Master, what good must I do to have eternal life?" 17Jesus replied, “Why do you ask me what is good? One is only the Good. If you want to enter life, keep the commandments ”. 18The man asked, "Commandments?" Jesus replied, "You will not kill, you will not commit adultery, you will not steal, you will not raise false testimony, honor your father and mother and love your neighbor as yourself." 20The young man said to Jesus: “I have observed all these things. What do I still lack? ” 21Jesus replied: “If you want to be perfect, go, sell everything you have, give the money to the poor and you will have a treasure in heaven. Then come and follow me ”. 22When he heard this, the young man went away full of sadness, because he was very rich. - Word of salvation.
Reflection
Por vezes, a riqueza diminui nossa condição de enfrentar novos desafios e conquistar outros horizontes. Deixamos de crescer e de voar e só enxergamos o pequeno círculo de amigos com os quais conversamos sobre os mesmos assuntos nos finais de semana. Nossos ouvidos permanecem surdos aos demais. Nossa dimensão espiritual permanece adormecida. O homem rico poderia beneficiar uma multidão de pessoas. A ele Jesus pedia, além do cumprimento dos dez mandamentos, que o seguisse. Seguimento que implicava despojamento de bens materiais e riqueza de coração.
Reflection
Sometimes, wealth diminishes our condition to face new challenges and conquer other horizons. We stop growing and flying and we only see the small circle of friends with whom we talked about the same subjects on the weekends. Our ears remain deaf to others. Our spiritual dimension remains dormant. The rich man could benefit a crowd of people. Jesus asked him, in addition to keeping the ten commandments, to follow him. Follow-up that implied the stripping of material goods and wealth of heart.

Senhor Jesus, ajuda-me a passar da mera observância dos mandamentos para o “caminho de perfeição” em vista do Reino de Deus. Livra-me, do apego aos bens terrenos, a fim de buscarmos a Deus e solidarizar-nos com os irmãos. Amém.
Praying
Lord Jesus, help me to move from mere observance of the commandments to the “way of perfection” in view of the Kingdom of God. Free me from attachment to earthly goods in order to seek God and show solidarity with the brothers. Amen.

O anúncio cristão comunica o desígnio divino, que é:
- um mistério de amor: os homens, amados por Deus, são chamados a responder-lhe, tornando-se sinal de amor para os irmãos;
- a revelação da verdade íntima de Deus como Trindade e da vocação do homem a uma vida filial em Cristo, fonte da sua dignidade;
- a oferta da salvação a todos os homens, através do mistério pascal de Jesus Cristo, dom da graça e da misericórdia de Deus, que implica a libertação do mal, do pecado e da morte;
- o chamamento definitivo a reunir na Igreja a humanidade dispersa, realizando a comunhão com Deus e a união fraterna entre os homens já hoje, mas plenamente realizada no fim dos tempos.

To Catechists
The Christian announcement communicates the divine design, which is:
- a mystery of love: men, loved by God, are called to answer him, becoming a sign of love for their brothers and sisters;
- the revelation of the intimate truth of God as a Trinity and of man's vocation to a filial life in Christ, the source of his dignity;
- the offer of salvation to all men, through the paschal mystery of Jesus Christ, a gift of grace and mercy from God, which implies the liberation from evil, sin and death;
- the definitive call to gather dispersed humanity in the Church, realizing communion with God and fraternal union between men and women today, but fully realized at the end of time.
