Reflection
Qual é o mandamento que, ao mesmo tempo, resume tudo e leva a observar toda a Lei? Jesus responde citando Deuteronômio 6,5 e Levítico 19,18. Com isso integra amor a Deus com amor ao próximo. Quem ama a Deus com total entrega de si mesmo também se entrega totalmente aos que são imagem e semelhança de Deus. Este é o ensinamento.
Reflection
What is the commandment that, at the same time, summarizes everything and leads to observe the whole Law? Jesus responds by quoting Deuteronomy 6.5 and Leviticus 19.18. This integrates love of God with love of neighbor. Whoever loves God with total self-surrender also totally surrenders to those who are the image and likeness of God. This is the teaching.

A fé é um dom de Deus e uma virtude sobrenatural, que pode nascer no íntimo como fruto da graça e como resposta livre ao Espírito Santo, que provoca a conversão do coração e o leva a voltar-se para Deus, dando-lhe «a mansidão para aceitar e acreditar na verdade» (DV 5). Guiado pela fé, o homem chega a contemplar e a saborear Deus como amor (cf. 1Jo 4,7a16). A fé, como acolhimento pessoal do dom de Deus, não é irracional ou cega. «A luz da razão e a luz da fé provêm ambas de Deus, [...] por isso, não se podem contradizer entre si»10. Com efeito, a fé e a razão são complementares entre si: se a razão não permite que a fé caia no fideísmo ou no fundamentalismo, «somente a fé permite entrar dentro do mistério, proporcionando a sua compreensão coerente».

Faith is a gift from God and a supernatural virtue, which can be born in the heart as a fruit of grace and as a free response to the Holy Spirit, which causes the conversion of the heart and leads him to turn to God, giving him «the meekness to accept and believe in the truth ”(DV 5). Guided by faith, man comes to contemplate and to taste God as love (cf. 1 John 4,7a16). Faith, as a personal acceptance of the gift of God, is not irrational or blind. "The light of reason and the light of faith both come from God, [...] therefore, they cannot contradict each other" 10. Indeed, faith and reason are complementary to each other: if reason does not allow faith to fall into fideism or fundamentalism, "only faith allows to enter into the mystery, providing its coherent understanding".
