Maria é elevada ao céu, / alegram-se os coros dos anjos. – Proclamação do Evangelho de Jesus Cristo segundo Lucas 1,39-56 – Naqueles dias, 39Maria partiu para a região montanhosa, dirigindo-se, apressadamente, a uma cidade da Judeia. 40Entrou na casa de Zacarias e cumprimentou Isabel. 41Quando Isabel ouviu a saudação de Maria, a criança pulou no seu ventre e Isabel ficou cheia do Espírito Santo. 42Com um grande grito, exclamou: “Bendita és tu entre as mulheres e bendito é o fruto do teu ventre! 43Como posso merecer que a mãe do meu Senhor me venha visitar? 44Logo que a tua saudação chegou aos meus ouvidos, a criança pulou de alegria no meu ventre. 45Bem-aventurada aquela que acreditou, porque será cumprido o que o Senhor lhe prometeu”. 46Então Maria disse: “A minha alma engrandece o Senhor, 47e o meu espírito se alegra em Deus, meu salvador, 48porque olhou para a humildade de sua serva. Doravante todas as gerações me chamarão bem-aventurada, 49porque o Todo-poderoso fez grandes coisas em meu favor. O seu nome é santo, 50e sua misericórdia se estende, de geração em geração, a todos os que o respeitam. 51Ele mostrou a força de seu braço: dispersou os soberbos de coração. 52Derrubou do trono os poderosos e elevou os humildes. 53Encheu de bens os famintos e despediu os ricos de mãos vazias. 54Socorreu Israel, seu servo, lembrando-se de sua misericórdia, 55conforme prometera aos nossos pais, em favor de Abraão e de sua descendência, para sempre”. 56Maria ficou três meses com Isabel; depois voltou para casa. – Palavra da salvação.

Mary is elevated to heaven, / the choirs of angels rejoice. - Proclamation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Luke 1,39-56 - In those days, 39Maria left for the mountainous region, heading quickly for a city in Judea. 40He entered the house of Zacharias and greeted Isabel. 41When Isabel heard Mary's greeting, the child jumped in her belly and Isabel was filled with the Holy Spirit. 42 With a great cry, he exclaimed: “Blessed are you among women and blessed is the fruit of your womb! 43How can I deserve that the mother of my Lord comes to visit me? 44 As soon as your greeting reached my ears, the child jumped for joy in my womb. 45 Blessed is she who believed, because what the Lord promised him will be fulfilled ”. 46Then Mary said: “My soul magnifies the Lord, 47and my spirit rejoices in God, my savior, 48because he looked at his servant's humility. From now on all generations will call me blessed, for the Almighty has done great things for me. His name is holy, 50and his mercy extends from generation to generation to all who respect him. 51He showed the strength of his arm: he scattered the proud in heart. 52He overthrew the mighty from the throne and raised the lowly. 53Filled the hungry with goods and sent the rich away empty-handed. 54His servant Israel, remembering his mercy, 55as promised to our fathers, in favor of Abraham and his descendants, forever. ” 56Maria stayed with Isabel for three months; then he returned home. - Word of salvation.
Reflection
Pelo cumprimento, percebemos a alegria que transborda de Maria e sua prima Isabel, a ponto de contagiar o fruto do ventre de cada uma. Impulsionada pelo Espírito Santo, Isabel se alegra por receber a mãe do Senhor, declarando-a abençoada e feliz. Maria responde com belo hino que exalta os humildes e rebaixa os orgulhosos. Ela leva consigo paz, alegria e bênção de Deus. Felizes as famílias que têm mães que se solidarizam entre si, através da ajuda mútua. Felizes as comunidades que têm mulheres portadoras de vida e esperança, mulheres benditas que acolhem a Palavra, transmitem fé e otimismo e acreditam num mundo melhor.
Reflection
By the greeting, we see the joy that overflows from Maria and her cousin Isabel, to the point of spreading the fruit in each one's womb. Driven by the Holy Spirit, Isabel rejoices to receive the Lord's mother, declaring her blessed and happy. Mary responds with a beautiful hymn that exalts the humble and lowers the proud. It brings peace, joy and blessing from God. Happy are the families that have mothers who show solidarity with each other, through mutual help. Happy are the communities that have women with life and hope, blessed women who accept the Word, transmit faith and optimism and believe in a better world.

Aos catequistas
A revelação do desígnio providencial de Deus. Tudo o que a Igreja é, tudo o que a Igreja faz encontra o seu fundamento último no fato de, na sua bondade e sabedoria, Deus ter desejado revelar o mistério da sua vontade, comunicando-se a si mesmo aos homens. São Paulo descreve este mistério com estas palavras: em Cristo, Deus “nos escolheu-nos, antes da criação do mundo, para sermos santos e irrepreensíveis, em caridade, na sua presença, predestinando-nos a ser seus filhos adotivos, por Jesus Cristo” ( Ef 1,4-5). Desde o princípio da criação, Deus nunca cessou de comunicar ao homem este desígnio de salvação e de lhe mostrar os sinais do seu amor; e mesmo "se o homem pode esquecer ou rejeitar Deus, Deus nunca deixa de chamar cada homem a procurá-lo, para que encontre a vida e a felicidade".

The revelation of God's providential design. Everything the Church is, everything the Church does finds its ultimate foundation in the fact that, in his goodness and wisdom, God wished to reveal the mystery of his will, communicating himself to men. Saint Paul describes this mystery with these words: in Christ, God “chose us, before the creation of the world, to be holy and blameless, in charity, in his presence, predestining us to be his adopted children, through Jesus Christ ”(Ef 1,4-5). Since the beginning of creation, God has never ceased to communicate this plan of salvation to man and to show him the signs of his love; and even "if man can forget or reject God, God never fails to call every man to seek him, so that he may find life and happiness".
