I will proclaim hidden things since the creation of the world.

Evangelho 

Deus nos gerou pela Palavra da verdade / como as primícias de suas criaturas (Tg 1,18). – Proclamação do Evangelho de Jesus Cristo segundo Mateus 13,31-35 – Naquele tempo, 31Jesus contou-lhes outra parábola: “O Reino dos céus é como uma semente de mostarda que um homem pega e semeia no seu campo. 32Embora ela seja a menor de todas as sementes, quando cresce, fica maior do que as outras plantas. E torna-se uma árvore, de modo que os pássaros vêm e fazem ninhos em seus ramos”. 33Jesus contou-lhes ainda uma outra parábola: “O Reino dos céus é como o fermento que uma mulher pega e mistura com três porções de farinha, até que tudo fique fermentado”. 34Tudo isso Jesus falava em parábolas às multidões. Nada lhes falava sem usar parábolas, 35para se cumprir o que foi dito pelo profeta: “Abrirei a boca para falar em parábolas; vou proclamar coisas escondidas desde a criação do mundo”. – Palavra da salvação.

Gospel 

God begat us by the Word of truth / as the firstfruits of his creatures (Jas 1,18). - Proclamation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Matthew 13,31-35 - At that time, 31Jesus told them another parable: “The Kingdom of Heaven is like a mustard seed that a man takes and sows in his field. 32Although it is the smallest of all seeds, when it grows, it grows larger than other plants. And it becomes a tree, so that birds come and nest in its branches ”. 33Jesus told them yet another parable: “The kingdom of heaven is like leaven that a woman takes and mixes with three portions of flour, until everything is fermented”. 34All this Jesus spoke in parables to the multitudes. Nothing spoke to them without using parables, 35 to fulfill what was said by the prophet: “I will open my mouth to speak in parables; I will proclaim hidden things since the creation of the world ”. - Word of salvation.

Reflection 

Nós anciamos por ver os bons resultados de nosso empenho pelo Reino de Deus. O crescimento, no entanto, é dificultoso e o futuro, nebuloso. Será que vale a pena investir a vida numa obra, cujos membros eram perseguidos e muitos deles cruelmente martirizados? Então se lembrem das parábolas do minúsculo grão de mostarda e do fermento na massa. Ambos imperceptíveis, porém com grande potencial de crescimento, e promessa de abundantes frutos. Assim, o Reino de Deus e seu desenvolvimento ao longo da História. Os sinais do Reino, embora discretos, estão por toda parte. A nós, cristãos e cristãs de todos os tempos e lugares, cabe colaborar e esperar confiantes a volta de Jesus.

Reflection 

We look forward to seeing the good results of our efforts for the Kingdom of God. Growth, however, is difficult and the future is cloudy. Is life worth investing in a work, whose members were persecuted and many of them cruelly martyred? So remember the parables of the tiny mustard seed and the yeast in the dough. Both imperceptible, but with great growth potential, and promise of abundant fruits. Thus, the Kingdom of God and its development throughout history. Kingdom signs, though discreet, are everywhere. It is up to us Christians of all times and places to collaborate and wait confidently for Jesus' return.
