Eu te louvo, ó Pai santo, / Deus do céu, Senhor da terra: / os mistérios do teu Reino / aos pequenos, Pai, revelas! (Mt 11,25) – Proclamação do Evangelho de Jesus Cristo segundo Mateus 13,44-52 – Naquele tempo, disse Jesus a seus discípulos: 44“O Reino dos céus é como um tesouro escondido no campo. Um homem o encontra e o mantém escondido. Cheio de alegria, ele vai, vende todos os seus bens e compra aquele campo. 45O Reino dos céus também é como um comprador que procura pérolas preciosas. 46Quando encontra uma pérola de grande valor, ele vai, vende todos os seus bens e compra aquela pérola. 47O Reino dos céus é ainda como uma rede lançada ao mar e que apanha peixes de todo tipo. 48Quando está cheia, os pescadores puxam a rede para a praia, sentam-se e recolhem os peixes bons em cestos e jogam fora os que não prestam. 49Assim acontecerá no fim dos tempos: os anjos virão para separar os homens maus dos que são justos 50e lançarão os maus na fornalha de fogo. E aí haverá choro e ranger de dentes. 51Compreendestes tudo isso?” Eles responderam: “Sim”. 52Então Jesus acrescentou: “Assim, pois, todo mestre da Lei que se torna discípulo do Reino dos céus é como um pai de família que tira do seu tesouro coisas novas e velhas”. – Palavra da salvação.

Reflection
Três parábolas. As duas primeiras (tesouro escondido e pérola preciosa) ensinam o valor do investimento no Reino de Deus, considerado bem maior. A terceira (rede) revela a realidade da comunidade, composta de pessoas fiéis e convictas e pessoas descompromissadas. Essas parábolas mostram a complexidade do mistério do Reino dos Céus. Com elas, Jesus nos convida a acolher o Reino, considerado bem máximo, que merece investimento acima de tudo. O que Deus nos oferece tem valor infinito; precisamos fazer todo o esforço para tornar o Reino sempre mais realidade, abandonando o que não contribui com ele. Devemos ser como o “dono da casa que tira de seu cofre coisas novas e velhas”.
Reflection
Three parables. The first two (hidden treasure and precious pearl) teach the value of investing in the Kingdom of God, considered much greater. The third (network) reveals the reality of the community, composed of faithful and convinced people and uncompromised people. These parables show the complexity of the mystery of the Kingdom of Heaven. With them, Jesus invites us to welcome the Kingdom, considered a very good thing, which deserves investment above all. What God offers us has infinite value; we must make every effort to make the Kingdom ever more reality, abandoning what does not contribute to it. We must be like the "owner of the house who takes new and old things out of his safe".
