Eu te louvo, ó Pai santo, Deus do céu, Senhor da terra; / os mistérios do teu Reino aos pequenos, Pai, revelas! (Mt 11,25) – Proclamação do Evangelho de Jesus Cristo segundo Mateus 11,25-30 – Naquele tempo, Jesus pôs-se a dizer: 25″Eu te louvo, ó Pai, Senhor do céu e da terra, porque escondeste estas coisas aos sábios e entendidos e as revelaste aos pequeninos. 26Sim, Pai, porque assim foi do teu agrado. 27Tudo me foi entregue por meu Pai, e ninguém conhece o Filho, senão o Pai, e ninguém conhece o Pai, senão o Filho e aquele a quem o Filho o quiser revelar. 28Vinde a mim todos vós que estais cansados e fatigados sob o peso dos vossos fardos, e eu vos darei descanso. 29Tomai sobre vós o meu jugo e aprendei de mim, porque sou manso e humilde de coração, e vós encontrareis descanso. 30Pois o meu jugo é suave e o meu fardo é leve”. – Palavra da salvação.

I praise you, O holy Father, God of heaven, Lord of the earth; / the mysteries of your Kingdom to the little ones, Father, reveal! (Mt 11,25) - Proclamation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Matthew 11,25-30 - At that time, Jesus began to say: 25 ″ I praise you, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you hid these things to the wise and knowledgeable and revealed them to the little ones. 26Yes, Father, because that was your pleasure. 27Everything was given to me by my Father, and no one knows the Son, except the Father, and no one knows the Father, except the Son and the one to whom the Son wants to reveal him. 28 Come to me all of you who are tired and weary under the weight of your burdens, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am meek and lowly in heart, and you will find rest. 30For my yoke is easy and my burden is light ”. - Word of salvation.

Reflexão

Mansidão e humildade foram duas virtudes postas em prática por Jesus, ao longo de seu ministério. Por ser manso e humilde, o relacionamento de Jesus com os fracos e pequeninos caracterizou-se pela paciência e pela benevolência, pelo respeito ao ritmo e ao momento de cada um. Ele sabia descer até as pessoas para solidarizar-se com suas dores e sofrimentos. Com os marginalizados, recusava-se a agir de maneira preconceituosa e arbitrária, por reconhecer-lhes a dignidade de seres humanos. Com os doentes e atribulados pelos maus espíritos, fazia-se próximo, infundindo neles a esperança de cura. Todavia, o Jesus manso e humilde soube ser severo com os prepotentes e injustos, evidenciando sua opção pelo Reino. Embora certas atitudes e palavras do Mestre possam parecer chocantes, na verdade, são expressão de sua humildade e mansidão, por se tratarem de um recurso extremo para chamar as pessoas à conversão.

Reflection

Meekness and humility were two virtues put into practice by Jesus throughout his ministry. For being meek and humble, Jesus' relationship with the weak and small was characterized by patience and benevolence, by respecting the pace and timing of each one. He knew how to get down to people to show solidarity with their pain and suffering. With the marginalized, he refused to act in a prejudiced and arbitrary manner, for recognizing the dignity of human beings. With the sick and afflicted by evil spirits, he became close, infusing them with the hope of a cure. However, the meek and humble Jesus knew how to be stern with the arrogant and unjust, showing his choice for the Kingdom. Although certain attitudes and words of the Master may seem shocking, in fact, they are an expression of his humility and meekness, as they are an extreme resource to call people to conversion.
