1a.Leitura - At 18,23-28
Livro dos Atos dos Apóstolos.

23 Paulo permaneceu algum tempo em Antioquia. Em seguida, partiu de novo, percorrendo sucessivamente as regiões da Galácia e da Frígia, fortalecendo todos os discípulos. 24 Chegou a Éfeso um judeu chamado Apolo, natural de Alexandria. Era um homem eloquente, versado nas Escrituras. 25 Fora instruído no caminho do Senhor e, com muito entusiasmo, falava e ensinava com exatidão a respeito de Jesus, embora só conhecesse o batismo de João. 26 Então, ele começou a falar com muita convicção na sinagoga. Ao escutá-lo, Priscila e Áquila tomaram-no consigo e, com mais exatidão, expuseram-lhe o caminho de Deus. 27 Como ele estava querendo passar para a Acaia, os irmãos apoiaram-no e escreveram aos discípulos para que o acolhessem bem. Pela graça de Deus, a presença de Apolo aí foi muito útil aos fiéis. 28 Com efeito, ele refutava vigorosamente os judeus em público, demonstrando pelas Escrituras que Jesus é o Messias.

1st Reading - At 18,23-28

Book of acts of the Apostles.
23 Paulo remained some time in Antioch. Then left again, covering successively the regions of Galatia and Phrygia, strengthening all the disciples. 24 came to Ephesus a Jew named Apollos, a native of Alexandria. It was an eloquent man, well versed in the Scriptures. 25 Outside instructed in the way of the Lord, and with much enthusiasm, he spoke and taught accurately about Jesus, although she knew only the baptism of John. 26 Then, he started talking with a lot of conviction in synagogue. To listen to him, Priscilla and Aquila took on and, with more accuracy, showed him the way of God. 27 As he was trying to pass for Achaia, the brothers supported him and wrote to the disciples to the host as well. By the grace of God, the presence of Apollo there has been very helpful to the faithful. 28 in fact, he dismissed the complainant vigorously the Jews in public, showing by the Scriptures that Jesus is the Messiah.

Evangelho - Jo 16,23b-28
Naquele tempo, disse Jesus aos seus discípulos:

23b “Em verdade, em verdade vos digo: se pedirdes ao Pai alguma coisa em meu nome, ele vo-la dará. 24 Até agora nada pedistes em meu nome; pedi, e recebereis; para que a vossa alegria seja completa. 25 Disse-vos estas coisas em linguagem figurativa. Vem a hora em que não vos falarei mais em figuras, mas claramente vos falarei do Pai. 26 Naquele dia pedireis em meu nome, e não vos digo que vou pedir ao Pai por vós, 27 pois o próprio Pai vos ama, porque vós me amastes e acreditastes que eu vim da parte de Deus. 28 Eu saí do Pai e vim ao mundo; e novamente parto do mundo e vou para o Pai”.

Gospel - Jo 16,23b-28
At that time, Jesus said to his disciples:
23B "Verily, verily I say unto you, if ye shall ask the Father anything in my name, he will give you. 24 so far nothing asked in my name; ask, and ye shall receive; so that your joy may be complete. 25 Said these things to you in figurative language. Comes the time when you talk in figures, but clearly you talk about the Father. 26 in that day ye shall ask in my name, and not tell you that I will ask the Father for you, 27 for the Father himself loves you, because you loved me and believe that I came from God. 28 I came out from the father and have come into the world; and again I am world and go to the Father ".

Refletindo o Evangelho 

Nossa vida precisa ser levada na autoridade em nome de Jesus. Aquilo que fazemos é por causa do Senhor Jesus, aquilo que nós vivemos é na autoridade d’Ele, e assim o nome d’Ele vai tomando conta da nossa vida, das nossas atitudes. Aquilo que na nossa vida parece não estar bem, entreguemos ao nome de Jesus, clamemos o nome d’Ele. Confiemos à autoridade de Jesus, confiemos ao Seu nome, porque neste nome há poder, autoridade; neste nome está a salvação que todos nós precisamos a cada dia em nossa vida. Por isso, falando bem direto ao seu coração, não tenha receio de recorrer ao nome de Jesus nem de invocar o nome d’Ele. Faça isso com mais constância e propriedade a cada momento da sua vida. Passamos por fraquezas, enfrentamos tribulações, mas não podemos passar sozinhos pelas tribulações, tentações nem dificuldades da vida. Ao nosso lado está Jesus Nosso Senhor e Salvador! Se estamos passando por tribulações, invoquemos o nome d’Ele; se estamos vivendo momentos alegres e exultantes na vida, demos glória, exultemos e louvemos o nome de Nosso Senhor e Salvador Jesus Cristo. Tudo o que pedirmos ao Pai, em nome de Jesus, Ele há de nos conceder. Até agora não pedimos praticamente nada no nome d’Ele. Não tenha receio, invoque o nome do Senhor Jesus, porque esse nome nos salva, levanta-nos e coloca-nos em plena comunhão com Deus.

Reflecting the Gospel

Our lives need to be taken on authority in the name of Jesus. What we do is because of the Lord Jesus, that we live in is in his authority, and his name is going to taking care of our life, of our attitudes. What in our lives doesn't seem to be right, we give the name of Jesus, the scream out his name. We trust the authority of Jesus, let us entrust to his name, because in this name in power, authority; This name is the salvation that we all need every day in our lives. So, talking pretty straightforward to your heart, don't be afraid of using the name of Jesus or invoke his name. Do this with more constancy and property every moment of your life. We've been through weakness, we face trials, but we can't go it alone by tribulations, temptations or difficulties of life. Next to us is Jesus Our Lord and Savior! If we're going through tribulations, invoke the name of God; If we are living happy and jubilant moments in life, gave glory, be glad and rejoice and praise the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. All that we ask the father in the name of Jesus, He's in the grant. Until now we didn't ask for virtually nothing in his name. Don't be afraid, invoke the name of the Lord Jesus, because that name saves us, lift us and puts us in full communion with God.
