St Joseph the Carpenter, the Worker.

1a.Leitura - Gn 1,26–2,3

26 Deus disse: “Façamos o homem à nossa imagem e segundo a nossa semelhança, para que domine sobre os peixes do mar, sobre as aves do céu, e sobre todos os répteis que rastejam sobre a terra”. 27 E Deus criou o homem à sua imagem, à imagem de Deus ele o criou: homem e mulher os criou. 28 E Deus os abençoou e lhes disse: “Sede fecundos e multiplicai-vos, enchei a terra e submetei-a! Dominai sobre os peixes do mar, sobre os pássaros do céu e sobre todos os animais que se movem sobre a terra”. 29 E Deus disse: “Eis que vos entrego todas as plantas que dão semente sobre a terra, e todas as árvores que produzem fruto com sua semente, para vos servirem de alimento. 30 E a todos os animais da terra, e a todas as aves do céu, e a tudo o que rasteja sobre a terra e que é animado de vida, eu dou todos os vegetais para alimento”. E assim se fez. 31 E Deus viu tudo quanto havia feito, e eis que tudo era muito bom. Houve uma tarde e uma manhã: sexto dia. 2,1 E assim foram concluídos o céu e a terra com todo o seu exército. 2 No sétimo dia, Deus considerou acabada toda a obra que tinha feito; e no sétimo dia descansou de toda a obra que fizera. 3 Deus abençoou o sétimo dia e o santificou, porque nesse dia descansou de toda a obra da criação.

1st Reading - Gn 1.26-2.3 
26 God said: "Let us make man in our image, according to our likeness, for which dominates over the fish of the sea and over the fowl of the air, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the Earth". 27 and God created man in your image, in the image of God he created him: man and woman created. 28 and God blessed them and said to them: "be fruitful and multiply, fill the Earth and subdue it. Evangelho - Mt 13,54-58

Naquele tempo, 54 dirigindo-se para a sua terra, Jesus ensinava na sinagoga, de modo que ficavam admirados. E diziam: “De onde lhe vêm essa sabedoria e esses milagres? 55 Não é ele o filho do carpinteiro? Sua mãe não se chama Maria, e seus irmãos não são Tiago, José, Simão e Judas? 56 E suas irmãs não moram conosco? Então, de onde lhe vem tudo isso?” 57 E ficaram escandalizados por causa dele. Jesus, porém, disse: “Um profeta só não é estimado em sua própria pátria e em sua família!” 58 E Jesus não fez ali muitos milagres, porque eles não tinham fé.

Gospel - Mt -58 13.54

Refletindo o Evangelho

Hoje, queremos nos espelhar em Deus nosso Pai. Jesus vai nos recordar no Seu Evangelho: “O meu pai trabalha e eu trabalho também”. O Pai é trabalhador, o Filho trabalhou durante toda a sua vida aqui na Terra, e teve como modelo de trabalho manual Seu pai José, que era um carpinteiro. Jesus, ainda menino, trabalhou com Seu pai na carpintaria. Não posso imaginar ninguém sem trabalhar, não posso imaginar ninguém sem se empenhar em usar os dons e talentos para construir, edificar e fazer com que o mundo seja melhor. É nossa contribuição que damos ao mundo. Ao trabalharmos, estamos edificando, transformando o mundo e a sociedade. Por isso, todo trabalho feito com dignidade é abençoado por Deus. É o meio de nos santificarmos e santificar o mundo com aquilo que fazemos. Enfrentamos, muitas vezes, realidades muito duras no mundo do trabalho. Penso que a principal seja o desemprego. Milhões de filhos de Deus, por esse mundo afora, estão desempregados, não conseguem um trabalho digno para custear a sua casa, sua família e seus filhos. Por isso, as nossas preces de hoje se voltam também para tantos trabalhadores que precisam trabalhar, mas não têm essa graça, também pelas oportunidades de trabalho e assim por diante. O que não podemos, de forma nenhuma, é ficarmos desocupados. Não podemos nos entregar ao desalento, ao desânimo, porque não temos esse ou aquele trabalho. Trabalhando em casa, na rua, na igreja ou em qualquer lugar, precisamos colocar para fora os dons que temos! Porque faz mal à natureza humana, à capacidade humana ficarmos inertes, paralisados, virarmos parasitas e não trabalharmos. Deus abençoe você, irmão e irmã, que coloca a mão na massa, você que tem multiplicado os dons e os talentos que Deus lhe deu para o trabalho. Deus abençoe os trabalhadores do mundo inteiro. Que tenham, hoje, em São José, uma inspiração, um incentivo. Contemos com a intercessão dele para que o nosso trabalho edifique o mundo, santifique-nos e santifique todos que estão ao nosso lado.

Reflecting the Gospel

Today, we want to look up to God our Father. Jesus will remind us in his Gospel: "my dad works and I also work".
