Leitura da profecia de Daniel 7,9-10.13-14 – 9Eu continuava olhando, até que foram colocados uns tronos, e um ancião de muitos dias aí tomou lugar. Sua veste era branca como neve e os cabelos da cabeça, como lã pura; seu trono eram chamas de fogo, e as rodas do trono, como fogo em brasa. 10Derramava-se aí um rio de fogo que nascia diante dele; serviam-no milhares de milhares, e milhões de milhões assistiam-no ao trono; foi instalado o tribunal, e os livros foram abertos. 13Continuei insistindo na visão noturna, e eis que, entre as nuvens do céu, vinha um como filho de homem, aproximando-se do Ancião de muitos dias, e foi conduzido à sua presença. 14Foram-lhe dados poder, glória e realeza, e todos os povos, nações e línguas o serviam: seu poder é um poder eterno que não lhe será tirado, e seu reino, um reino que não se dissolverá. – Palavra do Senhor.

Before your angels, I will sing to you, O Lord!
1. O Lord, from the heart I give thanks, / because you have heard the words of my lips! / Before your angels I will sing to you / and before your temple I will bow down.
2. I thank you for your love, your truth, / because you have done much more than you promised; / that day when I screamed, you listened to me / and increased the strength of my soul.
3. The kings of all the earth will praise you / when they hear, O Lord, your promise. / They will sing your ways and they will say: / "How great is the glory of the Lord!"

Arcanjo significa chefe supremo dos anjos. A Carta de Judas aplica esse título a Miguel; a Igreja estendeu-o depois a Gabriel e a Rafael. O novo calendário reuniu numa só celebração os três arcanjos (Miguel, Gabriel e Rafael), cuja festa caía em datas diferentes. Miguel, que significa “Quem é como Deus?”, cultuado desde os primeiros séculos da era cristã, é lembrado no livro de Daniel. A Carta de Judas mostra-o em luta contra Satanás, que quer o corpo de Moisés. Também o Apocalipse recorda o combate de Miguel e seus anjos contra o dragão. Gabriel, “Força de Deus”, apresentou-se a Zacarias como “aquele que está diante de Deus”. Anunciou o nascimento de João Batista e a encarnação do Filho de Deus. Rafael, “Deus cura”, aparece no livro de Tobias como acompanhante de viagem do jovem Tobias.
To think about
Archangel means supreme chief of the angels. The Letter of Judas applies this title to Michael; the Church later extended it to Gabriel and Rafael. The new calendar brought together in a single celebration the three archangels (Miguel, Gabriel and Rafael), whose feast fell on different dates. Miguel, which means “Who is like God?”, Worshiped since the first centuries of the Christian era, is remembered in the book of Daniel. The Letter of Judas shows him in a fight against Satan, who wants the body of Moses. Revelation also recalls the battle of Michael and his angels against the dragon. Gabriel, "Strength of God", introduced himself to Zechariah as "the one who stands before God". He announced the birth of John the Baptist and the incarnation of the Son of God.
