BOM DIA 25/09 🇧🇷Liturgia Diária 🇺🇸Daily Liturgy

“O Cristo de Deus”.
"The Christ of God".

1a.Leitura
– Palavra do Senhor.

1st. Reading
Reading the book of Ecclesiastes 3,1-11 - 1Everything has its time. There is an opportune time for everything that happens under the sky. 2Time to be born and time to die; time to plant and time to harvest the plant. 3 Time to kill and time to save; time to destroy and time to build. 4Time to cry and time to laugh; a time to mourn and a time to dance. 5Time to throw stones and time to pile them up; time to embrace and time to separate. 6Time to seek and time to lose; time to keep and time to waste. 7Tear time and sewing time; a time to be silent and a time to speak. 8Time to love and time to hate; time of war and time of peace. 9What profit does the worker make of his effort? 10I observed the task that God imposed on men, so that they could take care of it. 11The things he did are all good in due time. In addition, he arranged for them to be permanent; yet man never comes to know the beginning and the end of the action that God performs. - Word of the Lord.

Salmo 143/144
Bendito seja o Senhor, meu rochedo.
1. Bendito seja o Senhor, meu rochedo. / Ele é meu amor, meu refúgio, / libertador, fortaleza e abrigo. / É meu escudo: é nele que espero.

Psalm 143/144
Blessed be the Lord, my rock.
1. Blessed be the Lord, my rock. / He is my love, my refuge, / liberator, fortress and shelter. / It's my shield: that's what I hope for.
2. What is man, Lord, for you? † Why do you care for him so much / and think of the son of man? / As man is blowing, his days are a passing shadow.

Evangelho

Gospel
Proclamation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Luke 9,18-22 - It happened that Jesus 18 was praying in a secluded place, and the disciples were with him. Then Jesus asked them, "Who do the people say that I am?" 19They replied, “Some say you are John the Baptist; others, that you are Elijah; but others think that you are one of the ancient prophets who was resurrected ”. 20But Jesus asked, "And who do you say that I am?" Peter replied: "The Christ of God". 21But Jesus severely forbade them to tell anyone about this. 22E added: "The Son of Man must suffer a lot, be rejected by the elders, by the high priests and doctors of the Law, must be killed and resurrected on the third day". - Word of salvation.

To think about
Jesus' contemporaries have no clear idea of who he is. They evoke John the Baptist, Elijah or one of the ancient prophets. The apostles, by the voice of Peter, answer correctly. But Peter lacks understanding of what kind of Messiah Jesus is. Not the brave warrior who would come to expel the Roman occupiers. Not someone who will triumph by strength and power. Jesus is the Messiah who will give his life to rescue the whole of humanity from slavery to sin. Since the apostles were not in a position to understand the Messiah's true identity, Jesus forbids them to tell anyone about the revelation made to Peter. From the resurrection, people will know who "the Messiah of God" really is. For now, the Messiah is headed for death on the cross.

Para assistir - To watch

To Pray
O Jesus, “Messiah of God”, we recognize that it is not enough to have information about who You are. Amen.
