De outro modo, teríeis abraçado a fé em vão. 3Com efeito, transmiti-vos, em primeiro lugar, aquilo que eu mesmo tinha recebido, a saber: que Cristo morreu por nossos pecados, segundo as Escrituras; 4que foi sepultado; que, ao terceiro dia, ressuscitou, segundo as Escrituras; 5e que apareceu a Cefas e, depois, aos doze. 6Mais tarde, apareceu a mais de quinhentos irmãos de uma vez. Destes, a maioria ainda vive e alguns já morreram. 7Depois, apareceu a Tiago e, depois, apareceu aos apóstolos todos juntos. 8Por último, apareceu também a mim, como a um abortivo. 9Na verdade, eu sou o menor dos apóstolos, nem mereço o nome de apóstolo, porque persegui a Igreja de Deus. 10É pela graça de Deus que eu sou o que sou. Sua graça para comigo não foi estéril: a prova é que tenho trabalhado mais do que os outros apóstolos – não propriamente eu, mas a graça de Deus comigo. 11É isso, em resumo, o que eu e eles temos pregado e é isso o que crestes. – Palavra do Senhor.

Reading of the first letter of St. Paul to the Corinthians 15: 1-11 - 1 Brothers, I want to remind you of the Gospel that I preached to you and that you received, and in which you stand. 2 By him you are saved, if you are keeping him as he was preached to you by me. Otherwise, you would have embraced faith in vain. 3In fact, I transmitted to you, in the first place, what I had received, namely: that Christ died for our sins, according to the Scriptures; 4 who was buried; who, on the third day, was resurrected, according to the Scriptures; 5e who appeared to Cephas and then to the twelve. 6 Later, he appeared to more than five hundred brothers at once. Jesus entrou na casa do fariseu e pôs-se à mesa. 37Certa mulher, conhecida na cidade como pecadora, soube que Jesus estava à mesa na casa do fariseu. Ela trouxe um frasco de alabastro com perfume 38e, ficando por detrás, chorava aos pés de Jesus; com as lágrimas começou a banhar-lhe os pés, enxugava-os com os cabelos, cobria-os de beijos e os ungia com o perfume. 39Vendo isso, o fariseu que o havia convidado ficou pensando: “Se este homem fosse um profeta, saberia que tipo de mulher está tocando nele, pois é uma pecadora”. 40Jesus disse então ao fariseu: “Simão, tenho uma coisa para te dizer”. Qual deles o amará mais?” 43Simão respondeu: “Acho que é aquele ao qual perdoou mais”. Jesus lhe disse: “Tu julgaste corretamente”. 44Então, Jesus virou-se para a mulher e disse a Simão: “Estás vendo esta mulher? Quando entrei em tua casa, tu não me ofereceste água para lavar os pés; ela, porém, banhou meus pés com lágrimas e enxugou-os com os cabelos. 45Tu não me deste o beijo de saudação; ela, porém, desde que entrei, não parou de beijar meus pés. 46Tu não derramaste óleo na minha cabeça; ela, porém, ungiu meus pés com perfume. 47Por essa razão, eu te declaro: os muitos pecados que ela cometeu estão perdoados, porque ela mostrou muito amor. Exclusiva de Lucas, esta passagem abre leque para várias considerações. Jesus aceita comer em companhia de um fariseu, que nem suspeita que algo revolucionário vai acontecer. Entra em cena uma mulher, “conhecida na cidade como pecadora”. Um golpe violento para o fariseu que, por se considerar justo diante de Deus, não digeria a presença de pecadores. Jesus serenamente acolhe a mulher e se deixa tocar por ela, que não economiza afagos e lágrimas de amor e gratidão. Jesus sabe da sinceridade do gesto da pecadora, como também “faz leitura” da maldade aninhada no coração do fariseu. Então, põe cada coisa em seu devido lugar: realça a atitude amorosa da mulher e corrige o mau juízo ruminado pelo fariseu. Justifica aquela que fora pecadora e chama à conversão quem se achava impecável.
To think about
Exclusive to Lucas, this passage opens the door to several considerations. Jesus accepts to eat in the company of a Pharisee, who does not even suspect that something revolutionary is going to happen. A woman enters the scene, “known in the city as a sinner”. A violent blow for the Pharisee, who, considering himself just before God, would not digest the presence of sinners. Jesus serenely welcomes the woman and lets himself be touched by her, who spares no caresses and tears of love and gratitude. Jesus knows the sincerity of the sinner's gesture, as well as “reads” the evil that is nestled in the heart of the Pharisee. Then, put everything in its proper place: it enhances the woman's loving attitude and corrects the bad judgment ruminated by the Pharisee. Justify the one who was a sinner and calls to conversion those who thought themselves impeccable.

There is a profound link between the possibility of a renewed proposal of faith for young people and the availability of the Church to rejuvenate, that is, to remain in a process of spiritual, pastoral and missionary conversion. "The capacity [of young people] to renew, to claim, to demand consistency and testimony, to dream and reinvent again" 18 can help the ecclesial community to realize the cultural transformations of our time and to increase trust and hope. The whole community has a duty to transmit the faith and to witness the possibility of walking in life with Christ. The closeness of the Lord Jesus to the two disciples at Emmaus, the fact of walking with them, dialoguing, accompanying and helping to open their eyes is a source of inspiration for walking with young people. It is within these dynamics that the Gospel must be announced to the youth world with courage and creativity, proposing sacramental life and spiritual accompaniment. Thanks to ecclesial mediation, young people will be able to discover the personal love of the Father and the company of Jesus Christ and to live this stage of life, particularly "suited to great ideals, generous heroics, consistent demands of thought and action".
