Proclamação do Evangelho de Jesus Cristo segundo Mateus 18,15-20 – Naquele tempo, Jesus disse a seus discípulos: 15“Se o teu irmão pecar contra ti, vai corrigi-lo, mas em particular, a sós contigo! Se ele te ouvir, tu ganhaste o teu irmão. 16Se ele não te ouvir, toma contigo mais uma ou duas pessoas, para que toda a questão seja decidida sob a palavra de duas ou três testemunhas. 17Se ele não vos der ouvido, dize-o à Igreja. Se nem mesmo à Igreja ele ouvir, seja tratado como se fosse um pagão ou um pecador público. 18Em verdade vos digo, tudo o que ligardes na terra será ligado no céu, e tudo o que desligardes na terra será desligado no céu. 19De novo, eu vos digo: se dois de vós estiverem de acordo na terra sobre qualquer coisa que quiserem pedir, isso lhes será concedido por meu Pai que está nos céus. 20Pois, onde dois ou três estiverem reunidos em meu nome, eu estou aí, no meio deles”. – Palavra da salvação.

Jesus convida os seus à moderação no uso de certas normas dentro da comunidade. A texto de hoje fala do cuidado que a comunidade deve ter com seus membro, a conhecida "correção fraterna". Diz o evangelho que só pode ser excluída da comunidade a pessoa que perseverar no erro e recusar qualquer correção. O esforço da comunidade deve caminhar sempre no sentido de salvar e recuperar a pessoa. A comunidade tem poder para tomar a decisão final e deve ser com compreensão e respeito. Em geral é mais fácil excluir que incluir. A proposta da “correção fraterna” é válida para a comunidade cristã, para as famílias e para qualquer grupo de convivência e, por ser evangélica, exclui qualquer desejo de vingança e abertura à intolerância.
To think about
Jesus invites his followers to restrain themselves from using certain norms within the community. Today's text speaks of the care that the community must take with its members, the well-known "fraternal correction". The gospel says that only the person who perseveres in the error and refuses any correction can be excluded from the community. The community's effort must always move towards saving and recovering the person. The community has the power to make the final decision and must be understanding and respectful. In general it is easier to exclude than to include. The “fraternal correction” proposal is valid for the Christian community, for families and for any coexistence group and, being evangelical, excludes any desire for revenge and openness to intolerance.
