Aleluia, aleluia, aleluia. Vossa Palavra é a verdade; / santificai-nos na verdade! (Jo 17,17) – Proclamação do evangelho de Jesus Cristo segundo João 17,11-19 – Naquele tempo, Jesus ergueu os olhos para o céu e rezou, dizendo: 11“Pai santo, guarda-os em teu nome, o nome que me deste, para que eles sejam um assim como nós somos um. 12Quando eu estava com eles, guardava-os em teu nome, o nome que me deste. Eu guardei-os e nenhum deles se perdeu, a não ser o filho da perdição, para se cumprir a Escritura. 13Agora, eu vou para junto de ti e digo estas coisas, estando ainda no mundo, para que eles tenham em si a minha alegria plenamente realizada. 14Eu lhes dei a tua palavra, mas o mundo os rejeitou, porque não são do mundo, como eu não sou do mundo. 15Não te peço que os tires do mundo, mas que os guardes do maligno. 16Eles não são do mundo, como eu não sou do mundo. 17Consagra-os na verdade; a tua palavra é verdade. 18Como tu me enviaste ao mundo, assim também eu os enviei ao mundo. 19Eu me consagro por eles, a fim de que eles também sejam consagrados na verdade”. – Palavra da salvação.

(Jn 17,17) - Proclamation of the gospel of Jesus Christ according to John 17,11-19 - At that time, Jesus looked up to heaven and prayed, saying: 11 “Holy Father, keep them in your name, the name that you gave me, so that they are one as we are one. 12When I was with them, I kept them in your name, the name you gave me. I kept them and none of them was lost, except the son of perdition, to fulfill the Scripture. 13Now, I am coming to you and saying these things, while I am still in the world, so that they may have my joy fully realized in them. 14I gave you your word, but the world rejected them, because they are not of the world, as I am not of the world. 15 I do not ask you to take them out of the world, but to keep them from the evil one. 16They are not of the world, as I am not of the world. 17Consecrate them in truth; your word is true. 18As you sent me into the world, so I sent them into the world. 19I consecrate myself for them, that they too may be consecrated in the truth ”. - Word of salvation.

Reflexão
Reflita, que Jesus sempre avisa seus discípulos e no texto de hoje diz que voltaria ao Pai, mas não os deixaria órfãos; enviaria para eles o Espírito da verdade. Agora, nesta oração de despedida, Jesus recomenda que o Pai cuide deles. Como se vê, há perfeita união entre Jesus e o Pai. Não há interrupção da assistência e da ação divina na vida do povo. Os discípulos são escolhidos e preparados para dar continuidade à obra de Jesus. A missão de Jesus passa a ser a missão da Igreja.
Reflection
Reflect, that Jesus always warns his disciples and in today's text he says that he would return to the Father, but would not leave them orphans; I would send them the Spirit of truth. Now, in this farewell prayer, Jesus recommends that the Father take care of them. As can be seen, there is a perfect union between Jesus and the Father. There is no interruption of divine assistance and action in the life of the people. The disciples are chosen and prepared to continue Jesus' work. Jesus' mission becomes the Church's mission.

Ó Jesus, que o Pai conserve dentro de nós a Tua alegria; não nos retire do mundo, mas pelo Espírito, nos consagre para a missão de implantar o Reino de Deus. Aumenta em mim, a vontade de seguir fiel até chegar à comunhão definitiva Contigo, com o Pai e o Espírito Santo. Amém.

O Jesus, may the Father keep Your joy within us; do not remove us from the world, but by the Spirit, consecrate us to the mission of implanting the Kingdom of God. In me, the desire to remain faithful increases until I reach the final communion with You, with the Father and the Holy Spirit.
