Again I leave the world and go to the Father.

Saí do Pai e vim ao mundo, / eu deixo o mundo e vou ao Pai (Jo 16,28). – Proclamação do evangelho de Jesus Cristo segundo João 16,23-28 – Naquele tempo, disse Jesus aos seus discípulos: 23“Em verdade, em verdade vos digo, se pedirdes ao Pai alguma coisa em meu nome, ele vo-la dará. 24Até agora nada pedistes em meu nome; pedi e recebereis, para que a vossa alegria seja completa. 25Disse-vos estas coisas em linguagem figurativa. Vem a hora em que não vos falarei mais em figuras, mas claramente vos falarei do Pai. 26Naquele dia pedireis em meu nome, e não vos digo que vou pedir ao Pai por vós, 27pois o próprio Pai vos ama, porque vós me amastes e acreditastes que eu vim da parte de Deus. 28Eu saí do Pai e vim ao mundo; e novamente parto do mundo e vou para o Pai”. – Palavra da salvação.

Veja que frase importante de Jesus para manter firme a nossa fé cristã: que Ele Jesus vem do Pai e volta ao Pai. Então podemos viver na confiança total em relação a Jesus, a quem fazemos nossas preces e súplicas: “O que vocês pedirem a meu Pai em meu nome, Ele vai lhes dar”. A oração feita em nome de Jesus nasce de profunda intimidade com ele, com o Pai e com o Espírito Santo. O Espírito, de fato, é quem garante a eficácia de nossa oração, pois não sabemos o que pedir: “É o próprio Espírito que intercede por nós (Rm 8,26)". Então, pedir o quê? Tudo o que contribui para o amor e a vida individual e comunitária. Pedir com a certeza de que vamos receber.

Then we can live in total confidence in relation to Jesus, to whom we pray and ask: my Father in my name, He will give them ”. The prayer made in the name of Jesus is born out of profound intimacy with him, with the Father and with the Holy Spirit. The Spirit, in fact, is the one who guarantees the effectiveness of our prayer, as we do not know what to ask for: “It is the Spirit himself who intercedes for us (Rom 8,26)". So, ask what? Everything that contributes to individual and community love and life. Ask with the certainty that we will receive.
