Go and make disciples of mine all peoples.

Ainda assim alguns duvidaram. 18Então, Jesus aproximou-se e falou: “Toda a autoridade me foi dada no céu e sobre a terra. 19Portanto, ide e fazei discípulos meus todos os povos, batizando-os em nome do Pai e do Filho e do Espírito Santo 20e ensinando-os a observar tudo o que vos ordenei! Eis que eu estarei convosco todos os dias, até o fim do mundo”. – Palavra da salvação.

Reflexão
Jesus faz sua última aparição na Galileia. É lá que o Jesus iniciou sua missão e lá a conclui. Antes de deixar os apóstolos, Jesus lhes transmite as últimas instruções. São convidados a fazer discípulos todos os povos, a missão universal da Igreja. No dizer de Santo Agostinho, Jesus, com sua ascensão, não abandona a humanidade, assim como não abandonou o “céu quando desceu à terra, nem se afastou de nós quando subiu ao céu”. Ele continua presente na humanidade e comprometido com ela, mediante a comunidade cristã.

Jesus makes his last appearance in Galilee. It is there that Jesus began his mission and concludes it there. Before leaving the apostles, Jesus gives them the last instructions. All peoples are invited to make disciples, the universal mission of the Church. In the words of Saint Augustine, Jesus, with his ascension, does not abandon humanity, just as he did not abandon “heaven when he descended to earth, nor did he depart from us when he ascended to heaven”. He remains present in and committed to humanity through the Christian community.
