I will see you again, and your heart will rejoice.
EvangelhoI will see you again, and your heart will rejoice.
Aleluia, aleluia, aleluia.
Gospel
Hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah. It was necessary for Christ to suffer and rise from the dead, / to enter his glory (Lk 24,46.26). - Proclamation of the gospel of Jesus Christ according to John 16,20-23 - At that time, Jesus said to his disciples: 20 “Truly, truly, I say to you, you will weep and lament, but the world will rejoice; you will be sad, but your sadness will turn to joy. 21The woman, when she must give birth, is distressed because her time has come; but, after the child was born, he no longer remembers the sufferings, because of the joy of a man having come into the world. 22 You also now feel sad, but I will see you again, and your heart will rejoice, and no one will be able to take your joy away from you. That day, you won't ask me any more questions. ” - Word of salvation.

Reflection
Jesus will give the disciples a horrible "spectacle", that of dying before them, as if he were a failure, as if he had deceived a crowd of followers. It is true that the unjust will rejoice, thinking that they have destroyed the Author of life. However, Jesus' resurrection and his appearances to friends reorganize the reality: joy to the disciples, because “they were happy because they saw the Lord” (Jn 20,20). Disappointment for opponents. With the resurrection, Jesus' disciples came to understand that pain is a source of life. They no longer need to ask questions: everything became clearer because they believed in the Scriptures and the words of Jesus.
