Eu venci o mundo!
I won the world!

Aleluia, aleluia, aleluia. Se com Cristo ressurgistes, procurai o que é do alto, / onde Cristo está sentado, à direita de Deus Pai (Cl 3,1). – Proclamação do evangelho de Jesus Cristo segundo João 16,29-33 – Naquele tempo, 29os discípulos disseram a Jesus: “Eis, agora falas claramente e não usas mais figuras. 30Agora sabemos que conheces tudo e que não precisas que alguém te interrogue. Por isso cremos que vieste da parte de Deus”. 31Jesus respondeu: “Credes agora? 32Eis que vem a hora – e já chegou – em que vos dispersareis, cada um para seu lado, e me deixareis só. Mas eu não estou só, porque o Pai está comigo. 33Disse-vos estas coisas para que tenhais paz em mim. No mundo, tereis tribulações. Mas tende coragem! Eu venci o mundo!”  – Palavra da salvação.

Hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah. If you rise again with Christ, seek what is above, / where Christ is seated, at the right hand of God the Father (Col 3,1). - Proclamation of the gospel of Jesus Christ according to John 16,29-33 - At that time, 29the disciples said to Jesus: “Behold, now you speak clearly and you do not use figures anymore. 30Now we know that you know everything and that you don't need someone to question you. That is why we believe that you came from God ”. 31Jesus replied, “Do you believe now? 32Behold, the hour is coming - and has come - when you will scatter, each one to his side, and leave me alone. But I am not alone, because the Father is with me. 33 I told you these things so that you may have peace in me. In the world, you will have tribulations. But have courage! I won the world! ” - Word of salvation.

Reflexão

Os discípulos declaram: “Nós acreditamos que tu saíste de junto de Deus”. Jesus, porém, retruca-lhes mostrando que não basta uma fé superficial, fruto talvez de euforia ou emoção passageira. A fé em Jesus implica acompanhá-lo em todas as circunstâncias e também nas difuculdades. Quanto ao abandono dos discípulos, Jesus não os repreende; ao contrário, conforta-os diante das tribulações dos cristãos dizendo que no mundo terão aflições, mas tenham coragem: Eu venci o mundo.

Reflection
The disciples declare: "We believe that you have left God." However, Jesus replies by showing that superficial faith is not enough, perhaps the result of euphoria or fleeting emotion. Faith in Jesus implies accompanying him in all circumstances and also in difficulties. As for the abandonment of the disciples, Jesus does not rebuke them; on the contrary, it comforts them in the face of the tribulations of Christians by saying that in the world they will have afflictions, but be brave: I have overcome the world.

Rezando 
Jesus, apesar de nossa fé ser fraca, aumenta nossa fé e reforça nossa coragem para te seguir também no sofrimento e nas perseguições. Amém.

Praying 

Jesus, although our faith is weak, increases our faith and strengthens our courage to follow you also in suffering and persecution. Amen.
