You will be sad, but your sadness will become joy.
EvangelhoYou will be sad, but your sadness will become joy.
Aleluia, aleluia, aleluia.
Gospel
Hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah. I will not leave you orphans: / I will go, but I will return, / and your heart will rejoice a lot (Jn 14,18). - Proclamation of the gospel of Jesus Christ according to John 16: 16-20 - At that time, Jesus said to his disciples: 16 “A little while yet and you will no longer see me. And again a little time and you will see me again ”. 17Some of his disciples then said to each other: "What does he mean by saying: 'A little while and you will not see me, and again a little time and you will see me again', and: 'I am going to the Father' ? ” 18 They said, “What does this little time mean? We don't understand what he means ”. 19Jesus understood that they wanted to question him; then he said to them: "Are you arguing among yourselves because I said, 'A little time and you will no longer see me, and again a short time and you will see me'? 20Truly, truly, I say to you, you will weep and lament, but the world will rejoice. You will be sad, but your sadness will become joy ”. - Word of salvation.

Faz referência a choro, lamentações e angústia.
Reflection
Jesus, little by little, prepares his disciples for the hour of the test he must face: his passion and death. It makes reference to crying, lamentations and anguish. Joy for selfish ideologies that aim at their own interest, which they imagined to have eliminated the enemy. Jesus, however, leaves behind death, the tomb, and rises gloriously and restores hope and joy to the disciples.
