Quem se eleva será humilhado e quem se humilha será elevado.

Who rises will be humiliated and whomever will be elevated.

Reflexão

Considerar-se santo e desprezar os outros são dois extremos pecaminosos. Peca-se contra a verdade com a falta de modéstia e humildade, e peca-se contra a caridade fraterna. A respeito dessas duas atitudes, ocupa-se Jesus com a presente parábola. Quando alguém se vangloria de seus feitos, assume atitude soberba e cria um clima de mal-estar no seu ambiente. A atitude do fariseu é censurada porque busca a si mesmo e despreza a misericórdia de Deus. A autossuficiência do orgulhoso lhe impede a conversão. Em contrapartida, considerado pecador pelos fariseus, o cobrador de impostos reconhece os próprios erros e, diante de Deus, limita-se a bater no peito e pedir perdão. Abre-se ao Deus de misericórdia. Atitude correta, elogiada pelo Senhor.

Reflection 

To Consider yourself holy and despise others are two sinful extremes. He Sinned against the truth with the lack of modesty and humility, and he sinned against fraternal charity. Regarding these two attitudes, Jesus occupies the present parable. When someone boasts of their achievements, they assume superb attitude and create a climate of uneasiness in their environment. The Phhis's attitude is censored because he seeks himself and despises God's mercy. The self-reliance of the proud prevents you from converting. On the other hand, considered a sinner by the Pharisees, the tax collector recognizes his own errors and, before God, he limits himself to beating his chest and asking for forgiveness. It Opens to the God of mercy. Right Attitude, praised by the Lord.

Leitura da profecia de Oseias 6,1-6 – 1“Vinde, voltemos para o Senhor, ele nos feriu e há de tratar-nos, ele nos machucou e há de curar-nos. 2Em dois dias nos dará vida e, ao terceiro dia, há de restaurar-nos, e viveremos em sua presença. 3É preciso saber segui-lo para reconhecer o Senhor. Certa como a aurora é a sua vinda, ele virá até nós como as primeiras chuvas, como as chuvas tardias que regam o solo.” 4Como vou tratar-te, Efraim? Como vou tratar-te, Judá? O vosso amor é como nuvem pela manhã, como orvalho que cedo se desfaz. 5Eu os desbastei por meio dos profetas, arrasei-os com as palavras de minha boca, mas, como luz, expandem-se meus juízos; 6quero amor e não sacrifícios, conhecimento de Deus mais do que holocaustos. – Palavra do Senhor.

Honra, glória, poder e louvor / a Jesus, nosso Deus e Senhor! Oxalá ouvísseis hoje a sua voz: / Não fecheis os corações como em Meriba! (Sl 94,8). Proclamação do evangelho de Jesus Cristo segundo Lucas 18,9-14 – Naquele tempo, 9Jesus contou esta parábola para alguns que confiavam na sua própria justiça e desprezavam os outros: 10“Dois homens subiram ao templo para rezar: um era fariseu, o outro cobrador de impostos. 11O fariseu, de pé, rezava assim em seu íntimo: ‘Ó Deus, eu te agradeço porque não sou como os outros homens, ladrões, desonestos, adúlteros, nem como este cobrador de impostos. 12Eu jejuo duas vezes por semana e dou o dízimo de toda a minha renda’. 13O cobrador de impostos, porém, ficou a distância e nem se atrevia a levantar os olhos para o céu; mas batia no peito, dizendo: ‘Meu Deus, tem piedade de mim, que sou pecador!’ 14Eu vos digo, este último voltou para casa justificado, o outro não.
