O Evangelho deste domingo continua e conclui o “sermão da planície”. O texto apresenta três pequenas parábolas, a do cego, a do cisco no olho e a da árvore e seus frutos. As duas primeiras são um questionamento a respeito do julgamento que as pessoas tecem sobre os outros. Lucas mostra claramente que devemos ter muito cuidado ao julgar. Um cego não tem como guiar outro cego. Não dá para guiar os outros enquanto não consegue guiar a si mesmo. O verdadeiro guia é o Mestre que deve guiar a conduta dos seus seguidores. Há o perigo de os discípulos também se tornarem cegos, à medida que não conseguem distinguir os verdadeiros valores do Reino de Deus. Antes de pretender tirar o cisco do olho do outro, é preciso tirar a trave que está no próprio olho para enxergar bem. A terceira parábola, a da árvore e seus frutos, revela a pessoa a partir das suas ações. A exemplo da árvore, a pessoa pode ser conhecida pelos seus frutos. Quem tem consciência justa e reta, realiza atos justos e retos. O Evangelho de hoje é uma reflexão das primeiras comunidades sobre o ser mestre e discípulo na proposta de Jesus e propõe remover a hipocrisia que pode haver no cristão. Jesus convida seus seguidores a dar testemunho de transparência e coerência. Alguém disse certa vez que “jamais viu o Espírito de Deus atuar onde o povo do Senhor está dividido, discutindo e disseminando disse-me-disse.” Se você e eu queremos de fato participar do serviço do Senhor temos que zerar as reclamações e as disputas. Para Thomas Manton, puritano inglês do séc 17, “a vontade de discutir e o zelo em favor de uma opinião,mais do que úteis àf é, são características negativas,” de gente que se envolve, não com o serviço da fé, mas o seu desserviço. Deus nunca pergunta sobre nossa capacidade ou incapacidade, mas se estamos à disposição. Assim o nosso serviço para a glória de Deus depende da graça de Deus para ser executado. Portanto, renda-se ao Senhor e sirva-o na Sua capacidade.
