Leitura do livro do Eclesiástico 17,1-13 – 1Da terra Deus criou o homem e o formou à sua imagem. 2E à terra o faz voltar novamente, embora o tenha revestido de poder semelhante ao seu. 3Concedeu-lhe dias contados e tempo determinado, deu-lhe autoridade sobre tudo o que está sobre a terra. 4Em todo ser vivo infundiu o temor do homem, fazendo-o dominar sobre as feras e os pássaros. 5Deu aos homens discernimento, língua, olhos, ouvidos e um coração para pensar; encheu-os de inteligência e de sabedoria. 6Deu-lhes ainda a ciência do espírito, encheu o seu coração de bom senso e mostrou-lhes o bem e o mal. 7Infundiu o seu temor em seus corações, mostrando-lhes as grandezas de suas obras. 8Concedeu-lhes que se gloriassem de suas maravilhas, louvassem o seu nome santo e proclamassem as grandezas de suas obras. 9Concedeu-lhes ainda a instrução e entregou-lhes por herança a lei da vida. 10Firmou com eles uma aliança eterna e mostrou-lhes sua justiça e seus julgamentos. 11Seus olhos viram as grandezas da sua glória, e seus ouvidos ouviram a glória da sua voz. Ele lhes disse: “Tomai cuidado com tudo o que é injusto”. 12E a cada um deu mandamentos em relação ao seu próximo. 13Os caminhos dos homens estão sempre diante do Senhor e não podem ficar ocultos a seus olhos. – Palavra do Senhor.

Reading of the book of Ecclesiasticus 17,1-13 - 1And the earth God created man, and formed him in his own image. 2And he returns to the earth again, though he has clothed him with power similar to his own. 3 He gave him days that were numbered, and a set time, and gave him authority over all that is upon the earth. 4 In every living thing he infused the fear of man, and made him to rule over beasts and birds. 5 He gave men discernment, tongue, eyes, ears, and a heart to think; He filled them with intelligence and wisdom. 6 And he gave them the knowledge of the spirit, and filled their hearts with common sense, and showed them good and evil. 7 He poured out their fear in their hearts, showing them the greatness of their works. 8 He bestowed on them to glory in his wonders, to praise his holy name, and to proclaim the greatness of his works. 9 And he gave them instruction, and gave them the inheritance of the law of life. 10 He made an everlasting covenant with them, and showed them their justice and their judgments. 11And his eyes saw the greatness of his glory, and his ears heard the glory of his voice. Proclamação do evangelho de Jesus Cristo segundo Marcos 10,13-16 – Naquele tempo, 13traziam crianças para que Jesus as tocasse. Mas os discípulos as repreendiam. 14Vendo isso, Jesus se aborreceu e disse: “Deixai vir a mim as crianças. Não as proibais, porque o reino de Deus é dos que são como elas. 15Em verdade vos digo, quem não receber o reino de Deus como uma criança não entrará nele”. 16Ele abraçava as crianças e as abençoava, impondo-lhes as mãos. – Palavra da salvação..

Refletindo o Evangelho 

O povo que acompanha Jesus conhece os efeitos do seu toque. Com o toque, havia curado cegos e surdos e restituído a vida a uma menina morta. Também as crianças, símbolo das pessoas marginalizadas, querem receber a bênção de Jesus. Elas servem como exemplo de simplicidade, confiança, transparência e disponibilidade para acolher o Reino de Deus. Por isso é que Jesus corrige a atitude nada benévola dos discípulos e aproveita para deixar uma importante lição que atravessa os séculos: “O Reino de Deus pertence aos que são semelhantes a elas”. Deixa-se envolver pelas crianças, abraçando-as e impondo as mãos sobre elas. O papa Francisco, com seus gestos de carinho para com as crianças e os enfermos, tem mostrado ao mundo essa dimensão da bondade e misericórdia de Deus.

Reflecting the Gospel 

The people who accompany Jesus know the effects of his touch. With the touch, he had healed the blind and deaf and restored the life to a dead girl. Also the children, symbol of the marginalized people, want to receive the blessing of Jesus. They serve as an example of simplicity, trust, transparency, and willingness to welcome the Kingdom of God. That is why Jesus corrects the unkind attitude of the disciples and uses to leave an important lesson that goes through the centuries: "The kingdom of God belongs to those who are like them." He lets himself be enfolded by the children, hugging them and laying their hands on them.
