Come, ye blessed of my Father!Reflexão
Mateus nos apresenta o juízo final em forma de drama. Juiz é o próprio Jesus. O tema da avaliação é bem claro: trata-se de atitudes concretas de amor ao próximo, principalmente aos sofredores. São estes o ponto de encontro com o Senhor. Ser solidário com os irmãos necessitados é ser solidário com Jesus em sua paixão. Quem praticar o amor será recebido no convívio do Pai. Quem não o praticar ficará afastado de Deus. Esta parábola não pretende atemorizar ninguém. Apenas quer alertar para não deixarmos o tempo correr em vão, mas ocupá-lo honestamente, de modo criativo e benéfico em favor dos irmãos e irmãs que mais precisam de nosso socorro. Com a esperança de ouvir, no final, as benditas palavras de Jesus: “Vinde, benditos de meu Pai…”.

Matthew presents us with the final judgment in the form of drama. Judge is Jesus himself. The theme of the evaluation is very clear: it is concrete attitudes of love to the neighbor, mainly to the suffering ones. These are the meeting point with the Lord. To be in solidarity with the brothers in need is to be in solidarity with Jesus in his passion. Whoever practices love will be received into the fellowship of the Father. Whoever does not practice it will be far from God. This parable is not meant to frighten anyone. He only wants to warn us not to let time run in vain, but to occupy him honestly, creatively and in a beneficial way for the brothers and sisters who need our help the most. Hoping to hear, at the end, the blessed words of Jesus: "Come, ye blessed of my Father ...".

Proclamação do evangelho de Jesus Cristo segundo Mateus 25,31-46 – Naquele tempo, disse Jesus aos seus discípulos: 31“Quando o Filho do homem vier em sua glória, acompanhado de todos os anjos, então se assentará em seu trono glorioso. 32Todos os povos da terra serão reunidos diante dele, e ele separará uns dos outros, assim como o pastor separa as ovelhas dos cabritos. 33E colocará as ovelhas à sua direita e os cabritos à sua esquerda. 34Então o rei dirá aos que estiverem à sua direita: ‘Vinde, benditos de meu Pai! Recebei como herança o reino que meu Pai vos preparou desde a criação do mundo! 35Pois eu estava com fome e me destes de comer; eu estava com sede e me destes de beber; eu era estrangeiro e me recebestes em casa; 36eu estava nu e me vestistes; eu estava doente e cuidastes de mim; eu estava na prisão e fostes me visitar’. 37Então os justos lhe perguntarão: ‘Senhor, quando foi que te vimos com fome e te demos de comer? Com sede e te demos de beber? 38Quando foi que te vimos como estrangeiro e te recebemos em casa, e sem roupa e te vestimos? 39Quando foi que te vimos doente ou preso e fomos te visitar?’ 40Então o rei lhes responderá: ‘Em verdade eu vos digo que, todas as vezes que fizestes isso a um dos menores de meus irmãos, foi a mim que o fizestes!’ 41Depois o rei dirá aos que estiverem à sua esquerda: ‘Afastai-vos de mim, malditos!
