Proclamação do Evangelho de Jesus Cristo segundo João 12,1-11 – 1Seis dias antes da Páscoa, Jesus foi a Betânia, onde morava Lázaro, que ele havia ressuscitado dos mortos. 2Ali ofereceram a Jesus um jantar; Marta servia e Lázaro era um dos que estavam à mesa com ele. 3Maria, tomando quase meio litro de perfume de nardo puro e muito caro, ungiu os pés de Jesus e enxugou-os com seus cabelos. A casa inteira ficou cheia do perfume do bálsamo. 4Então falou Judas Iscariotes, um dos seus discípulos, aquele que o havia de entregar: 5“Por que não se vendeu este perfume por trezentas moedas de prata, para as dar aos pobres?” 6Judas falou assim não porque se preocupasse com os pobres, mas porque era ladrão; ele tomava conta da bolsa comum e roubava o que se depositava nela. 7Jesus, porém, disse: “Deixa-a; ela fez isto em vista do dia de minha sepultura. 8Pobres, sempre os tereis convosco, enquanto a mim, nem sempre me tereis”. 9Muitos judeus, tendo sabido que Jesus estava em Betânia, foram para lá, não só por causa de Jesus, mas também para verem Lázaro, que Jesus havia ressuscitado dos mortos. 10Então os sumos sacerdotes decidiram matar também Lázaro, 11porque, por causa dele, muitos deixavam os judeus e acreditavam em Jesus. – Palavra da salvação.

The whole house was filled with the perfume of the balm. 4Then Judas Iscariot spoke, one of her disciples, the one who was to deliver it: 5 “Why didn't this perfume sell for three hundred silver coins, to give to the poor?” 6Judas spoke like this not because he cared about the poor, but because he was a thief; he took care of the common bag and stole what was deposited in it. 7Jesus, however, said: “Leave her; she did this in view of the day of my grave. 8Poor, you will always have them with you, while you will not always have me ”. 9Many Jews, having heard that Jesus was in Bethany, went there, not only because of Jesus, but also to see Lazarus, who Jesus had raised from the dead. 10Then the high priests also decided to kill Lazarus, 11 because, because of him, many left the Jews and believed in Jesus. - Word of salvation.

Jesus, Tu valorizas o carinhoso gesto de Maria, que perfuma Teus pés e enxuga-os com seus cabelos. Atitude de amor generoso e solidário. Dá-nos, Senhor, sensibilidade e disposição para prestar-te a devida honra por toda a vida. Amém.
