Proclamação do Evangelho de Jesus Cristo segundo Lucas 18,9-14 – Naquele tempo, 9Jesus contou esta parábola para alguns que confiavam na sua própria justiça e desprezavam os outros: 10“Dois homens subiram ao templo para rezar: um era fariseu, o outro cobrador de impostos. 11O fariseu, de pé, rezava assim em seu íntimo: ‘Ó Deus, eu te agradeço porque não sou como os outros homens, ladrões, desonestos, adúlteros, nem como este cobrador de impostos. 12Eu jejuo duas vezes por semana e dou o dízimo de toda a minha renda’. 13O cobrador de impostos, porém, ficou a distância e nem se atrevia a levantar os olhos para o céu; mas batia no peito, dizendo: ‘Meu Deus, tem piedade de mim, que sou pecador!’ 14Eu vos digo, este último voltou para casa justificado, o outro não. Pois quem se eleva será humilhado e quem se humilha será elevado”. – Palavra da salvação.

Proclamation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Luke 18,9-14 - At that time, 9 Jesus told this parable to some who trusted in their own righteousness and despised others: 10 “Two men went up to the temple to pray: one was a Pharisee, the other tax collector. 11 The Pharisee, standing up, prayed like this in his heart: 'O God, I thank you because I am not like other men, thieves, dishonest, adulterers, nor like this tax collector. 12I fast twice a week and tithe all my income '. 13The tax collector, however, remained at a distance and did not even dare to look up at the sky; but he beat his chest, saying: ‘My God, have mercy on me, I am a sinner!’ 14I tell you, the latter returned home justified, the other did not. For whoever rises will be humbled and whoever humbles will be lifted ”. - Word of salvation.

Para rezar

Por Tua parábola, ó Jesus, compreendemos qual é a verdadeira oração. Rezar não é vangloriar-se diante de Deus, nem demonstrar autossuficiência, tampouco desprezar os outros. Rezar, ao contrário, é conversar com Deus e reconhecer que temos necessidade de Sua misericórdia. Senhor, ensina-nos a rezar. Amém.

To Pray

Through Your parable, O Jesus, we understand what true prayer is. To pray is not to boast before God, nor to show self-sufficiency, nor to despise others. Rather, praying is talking to God and recognizing that we need mercy on him. Lord, teach us to pray. Amen.
