Para refletir
Tendo concebido pelo Espírito Santo, Maria sente-se impelida a visitar sua prima Isabel, para lhe comunicar a grande experiência. Isabel, por sua vez, também anseia por cantar as maravilhas que o Senhor está realizando em sua vida. Apesar de ser idosa e estéril, ela está gestando um filho, que será chamado João. O Espírito Santo é o grande protagonista desses acontecimentos. De fato, Maria concebe pelo Espírito Santo. “Quando Isabel ouviu a saudação de Maria, o bebê pulou de alegria em seu ventre. Isabel ficou plena do Espírito Santo”. E João, conforme o anúncio do anjo: “estará cheio do Espírito Santo, já desde o ventre de sua mãe” (Lc 1,15b). Isabel e Maria, duas mulheres grávidas pelo poder do Senhor, se unem na celebração da grandiosa obra salvadora de Deus.
To think about
Having conceived by the Holy Spirit, Maria feels compelled to visit her cousin Isabel, to communicate the great experience to her. Isabel, in turn, also longs to sing the wonders that the Lord is doing in her life. Despite being elderly and sterile, she is having a child, who will be called João. The Holy Spirit is the main protagonist of these events. In fact, Mary conceives by the Holy Spirit. “When Isabel heard Maria's greeting, the baby jumped for joy in her womb. Isabel was filled with the Holy Spirit ”. And John, according to the angel's announcement: “he will be filled with the Holy Spirit, even from his mother's womb” (Lk 1.15b). Isabel and Maria, two women pregnant by the power of the Lord, come together to celebrate the great saving work of God.

Ó Jesus, tua zelosa mãe, apressadamente e por caminhos montanhosos, foi visitar e auxiliar a prima Isabel, que estava grávida. O encontro das duas mães e dos dois bebês causou indizível alegria. Revigora, Senhor, nossa disposição para sermos solidários com o próximo em suas necessidades. Amém.
To Pray
O Jesus, your zealous mother, hurriedly and on mountainous paths, went to visit and help cousin Isabel, who was pregnant. The meeting of the two mothers and the two babies caused unspeakable joy. It strengthens, Lord, our willingness to show solidarity with others in their needs. Amen.
