Leitura do livro do profeta Isaías 41,13-20 – 13Eu sou o Senhor, teu Deus, que te tomo pela mão e te digo: “Não temas; eu te ajudarei”. 14Não tenhas medo, Jacó, pobre verme, não temais, homens de Israel. Eu vos ajudarei, diz o Senhor e salvador, o santo de Israel. 15Eis que te transformei num carro novo de triturar, guarnecido de dentes de serra. Hás de triturar e despedaçar os montes e reduzirás as colinas a poeira. 16Ao expô-los ao vento, o vento os levará e o temporal os dispersará; exultarás no Senhor e te alegrarás no santo de Israel. 17Pobres e necessitados procuram água, mas não há, estão com a língua seca de sede. Eu, o Senhor, os atenderei, eu, Deus de Israel, não os abandonarei. 18Farei nascer rios nas colinas escalvadas e fontes no meio dos vales; transformarei o deserto em lagos e a terra seca em nascentes de água. 19Plantarei no deserto o cedro, a acácia e a murta e a oliveira; crescerão no ermo o pinheiro, o olmo e o cipreste juntamente, 20para que os homens vejam e saibam, considerem e compreendam que a mão do Senhor fez essas coisas e o santo de Israel tudo criou. – Palavra do Senhor.

Reading the book of the prophet Isaiah 41,13-20 - 13I am the Lord your God, who I take you by the hand and say to you: “Do not be afraid; I will help you ”. 14Don't be afraid, Jacob, poor worm, don't be afraid, men of Israel. I will help you, says the Lord and Savior, the Holy One of Israel. 15Behold, I transformed you into a new grinding car, equipped with saw teeth. You will crush and smash the mountains and you will reduce the hills to dust. 16When I expose them to the wind, the wind will carry them and the storm will disperse them; you will rejoice in the Lord and rejoice in the holy Israel. 17Poor and needy people look for water, but there is none, their tongue is dry with thirst. 1. Ó meu Deus, quero exaltar-vos, ó meu rei, / e bendizer o vosso nome pelos séculos. / O Senhor é muito bom para com todos, / sua ternura abraça toda criatura.
2. Que vossas obras, ó Senhor, vos glorifiquem, / e os vossos santos com louvores vos bendigam! / Narrem a glória e o esplendor do vosso reino / e saibam proclamar vosso poder!

Proclamação do Evangelho de Jesus Cristo segundo Mateus 11,11-15 – Naquele tempo, disse Jesus à multidão: 11″Em verdade eu vos digo, de todos os homens que já nasceram, nenhum é maior do que João Batista. No entanto, o menor no Reino dos céus é maior do que ele. 12Desde os dias de João Batista até agora, o Reino dos céus sofre violência, e são os violentos que o conquistam. 13Com efeito, todos os profetas e a Lei profetizaram até João. 14E se quereis aceitar, ele é o Elias que há de vir. 15Quem tem ouvidos ouça”. – Palavra da salvação.

Proclamation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Matthew 11,11-15 - At that time, Jesus said to the crowd: 11 ″ Truly I say to you, of all the men who have ever been born, none is greater than John the Baptist. Para refletir
Jesus considera João Batista o maior dos profetas. De fato, João resume tudo o que foi profetizado até aquele momento. Jesus afirma também que o menor no Reino de Deus é maior que João. Para Jesus, a grandeza não consiste na capacidade de dominar, mas na qualidade do serviço. Ora, na comunidade de Jesus, grande é o servidor de todos: “O maior de vocês será aquele que serve a vocês” (Mt 23,11). João e Jesus anunciam e tornam presente o Reino; os adversários do Reino se opõem a eles.
To think about
Jesus considers John the Baptist the greatest of the prophets. In fact, John summarizes everything that was prophesied up to that moment. Jesus also states that the least in the Kingdom of God is greater than John. For Jesus, greatness is not the ability to dominate, but the quality of service. Now, in the community of Jesus, the servant of all is great: “The greatest of you will be the one who serves you” (Mt 23:11). John and Jesus announce and make the Kingdom present; Kingdom opponents are opposed to them.

Ó Jesus Messias, valorizas Teu precursor, João Batista, que se manifesta com a robustez espiritual do profeta Elias. Tanto João como Elias se empenharam vivamente a fim de preparar a Tua vinda a este mundo. Concede-nos, Senhor, firmeza e perseverança para enfrentar os adversários do Teu Reino. Amém.
To Pray
O Jesus Messiah, you value Your forerunner, John the Baptist, who manifests himself with the spiritual strength of the prophet Elijah. Both John and Elijah went to great lengths to prepare for Your coming to this world. Grant us, Lord, strength and perseverance to face the adversaries of Your Kingdom. Amen.
