1a.Leitura - Gênesis 41,55-57; 42,5-7.17-24

Leitura do livro do Gênesis – Naqueles dias, ⁵⁵ todo o Egito começou a sentir fome e o povo clamou ao faraó, pedindo alimento. E ele respondeu-lhe: “Dirigi-vos a José e fazei o que ele vos disser”. ⁵⁶ Quando a fome se estendeu a todo o país, José abriu os celeiros e vendeu trigo aos egípcios, porque a fome também os oprimia. ⁵⁷ De todas as nações vinham ao Egito comprar alimento, pois a fome era dura em toda a terra. ^42,5 Os filhos de Israel entraram na terra do Egito com outros que também iam comprar trigo, pois havia fome em Canaã. ⁶ José era governador na terra do Egito e, conforme a sua vontade, se vendia trigo à população. Chegando os irmãos de José, prostraram-se diante dele com o rosto em terra. ⁷ Ao ver seus irmãos, José os reconheceu. ¹⁷ E mandou metê-los na prisão durante três dias. ¹⁸ E, no terceiro dia, disse-lhes: “Fazei o que já vos disse e vivereis, pois eu temo a Deus. ¹⁹ Se sois sinceros, fique um dos irmãos preso aqui no cárcere, e vós outros ide levar para vossas casas o trigo que comprastes. ²⁰ Mas trazei-me o vosso irmão mais novo, para que eu possa provar a verdade de vossas palavras e não morrerdes”. Eles fizeram como José lhes tinha dito. ²¹ E diziam uns aos outros: “Sofremos justamente estas coisas, porque pecamos contra o nosso irmão; vimos a sua angústia, quando nos pedia compaixão, e não o atendemos. É por isso que nos veio esta tribulação”. ²² Rúben disse-lhes: “Não vos adverti, dizendo: ‘Não pequeis contra o menino’? E vós não me escutastes. E agora nos pedem conta do seu sangue”. ²³ Ora, eles não sabiam que José os entendia, pois lhes falava por meio de intérprete. ²⁴ Então, José afastou-se deles e chorou. – Palavra do Senhor.

Evangelho - Mateus 10,1-7

Proclamação do evangelho de Jesus Cristo segundo Mateus – Naquele tempo, ¹ Jesus chamou os doze discípulos e deu-lhes poder para expulsarem os espíritos maus e para curarem todo tipo de doença e enfermidade. ² Estes são os nomes dos doze apóstolos: primeiro, Simão, chamado Pedro, e André, seu irmão; Tiago, filho de Zebedeu, e seu irmão João; ³ Filipe e Bartolomeu; Tomé e Mateus, o cobrador de impostos; Tiago, filho de Alfeu, e Tadeu; ⁴ Simão, o zelota, e Judas Iscariotes, que foi o traidor de Jesus. ⁵ Jesus enviou esses doze com as seguintes recomendações: “Não deveis ir aonde moram os pagãos nem entrar nas cidades dos samaritanos! ⁶ Ide, antes, às ovelhas perdidas da casa de Israel! ⁷ Em vosso caminho, anunciai: ‘O reino dos céus está próximo’”. – Palavra da salvação.

Gospel -  Mateus 10,1-7

Refletindo o Evangelho  

Constatada a necessidade de trabalhadores para a “colheita”, Jesus constitui o grupo dos Doze, aos quais dá o nome de apóstolos, isto é, enviados em missão. São homens de origens e culturas diferentes; temperamentos e tendências políticas variadas. Jesus reúne os apóstolos e os mantém perto de si para os instruir. No momento oportuno, os envia “às ovelhas perdidas” por causa dos maus pastores, conforme Jeremias anunciava: “Meu povo era um rebanho perdido” (Jr 50,6). Dá-lhes a tarefa de libertar integralmente as pessoas, por isso lhes confere o poder de expulsar demônios e curar “toda doença e toda enfermidade”. Qual é o núcleo da pregação que Jesus lhes propõe? “Anunciem que o Reino dos Céus está próximo”. Ou seja, o reinado de Deus está ao alcance de todos, desde que se abram para o acolher.

Reflecting the Gospel
