Proclamação do Evangelho de Jesus Cristo segundo Lucas 19,45-48 – Naquele tempo, 45Jesus entrou no templo e começou a expulsar os vendedores. 46E disse: “Está escrito: ‘Minha casa será casa de oração’. No entanto, vós fizestes dela um antro de ladrões”. 47Jesus ensinava todos os dias no templo. Os sumos sacerdotes, os mestres da Lei e os notáveis do povo procuravam modo de matá-lo. 48Mas não sabiam o que fazer, porque o povo todo ficava fascinado quando ouvia Jesus falar. – Palavra da salvação.

O evangelista Lucas usa poucas palavras para descrever a expulsão dos vendedores que se instalaram no Templo. No entanto, trata-se de atitude densa de significado: o Templo já não era o lugar do sincero louvor a Deus e do cultivo das boas relações humanas. Tinha-se transformado em “abrigo de ladrões”, recinto de exploradores do povo. Perdeu sua finalidade. Não havia mais razão para permanecer. Jesus, com seu gesto profético, provoca as autoridades, porque está abalando uma estrutura que, por séculos, constituía o centro do poder religioso, social, econômico e político do povo de Israel. Com efeito, os chefes dos sacerdotes, os doutores da Lei e os anciãos do povo, mais que depressa começam a tramar a morte de Jesus. Não obstante o perigo próximo, Jesus “ensinava todos os dias no Templo”.
To think about
Evangelist Lucas uses few words to describe the expulsion of the vendors who settled in the Temple. However, it is a meaningful attitude: the Temple was no longer the place of sincere praise to God and the cultivation of good human relations. It had become a “thieves' shelter”, a place for the people's exploiters. It has lost its purpose. There was no more reason to stay. Jesus, with his prophetic gesture, provokes the authorities, because he is shaking a structure that, for centuries, constituted the center of the religious, social, economic and political power of the people of Israel. Indeed, the chief priests, the doctors of the Law and the elders of the people, more than quickly begin to plot the death of Jesus. Despite the near danger, Jesus "taught every day in the Temple".

Ó Jesus Messias, Teu ardente zelo pela “casa de oração” Te leva a expulsar de seu interior os mercadores, que dela fizeram um “abrigo de ladrões”. Purificado, o Templo se torna ponto de onde ensinas o povo, sedento de Tua mensagem. Alimenta-nos, Senhor, com Tuas palavras de vida eterna. Amém.
