🇧🇷Ótimo dia - 30 Nov - Liturgia Diária ::: 🇺🇸Great day - Nov 30 - Daily Liturgy

Segui-me, e eu farei de vós pescadores de homens.
Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.

1a.Leitura
– Palavra do Senhor.

1st. Reading
Reading the letter from St. Paul to the Romans 10,9-18 - Brothers, 9 if, with your mouth, you confess Jesus as Lord and, in your heart, believe that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 It is by believing in the heart that righteousness is achieved and it is by confessing the faith with the mouth that salvation is achieved. 11For the Scripture says, "Everyone who believes in him will not be confused." 12 Therefore, the difference between Jew and Greek does not matter; all have the same Lord, who is generous to all who call on him. 13 Indeed, everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. 14But how to invoke it without first believing in it? And how to believe without having heard of it? And how to listen without someone who preaches? 15And how to preach without being sent for it? So it is written: "How beautiful are the feet of those who announce good". 16But not everyone obeyed the Good News. For Isaiah says, "Lord, who believed in our preaching?" 17So faith comes from preaching, and preaching is done by the word of Christ. 18Then I ask: have they not heard? They certainly did, because "their voice spread throughout the land, and their words reached the ends of the world." - Word of the Lord.

Salmo 18/19A

Psalm 18/19A
Its sound resonates and spreads across the land.
1. The heavens proclaim the glory of the Lord, / and the firmament, the work of his hands; / day to day transmits this message, / night to night publishes this news.
2. They are not speeches or phrases or words, / nor are they voices that can be heard; / his sound resonates and spreads throughout the earth, / his voice reaches the ends of the universe.

Evangelho
22Eles, imediatamente, deixaram a barca e o pai e o seguiram. – Palavra da salvação.

Gospel
Proclamation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Matthew 4,18-22 - At that time, when Jesus was walking by the Sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers: Simon, named Peter, and his brother Andrew. They were throwing the net overboard, as they were fishermen. 19Jesus said to them, "Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men." 20They immediately left the nets and followed him. 21When walking a little further, Jesus saw two other brothers: James, son of Zebedee, and his brother John. They were in the boat with their father, Zebedee, repairing the nets. Jesus called them. 22They immediately left the boat and their father and followed him. - Word of salvation.

To think about
There are two traditions regarding André's vocation. In Mc 1,16ss., He was called together with Peter, when they were fishing in the Sea of Galilee. According to Jo 1,40ss., He was called together with another disciple of the Baptist, who appointed Jesus as the “Lamb of God”. André appears in the list of the twelve apostles. In Jo 6.8, André is the one who informs about a boy who has the bread and fish that are soon shared among all. In Jn 12:22, André acts as a mediator between Jesus and the Greeks who ask for an interview with Jesus. Some traditions say that Andrew developed his apostolic ministry in Greece and Asia Minor. According to these traditions, a martyr died in Patras, on a cross arranged in X. His relics, taken to Rome in 1462, were returned to Greece by Pope Paul VI.

To Pray
O Jesus, light of the world, you chose fisherman André to make him a “fisherman of people”. Abandoning his father's profession, with whom he worked, André joined the group of apostles. And with them he was prepared to spread the Good News of the Kingdom of God around the world. Amen.

🇧🇷Ótimo dia - 29 Nov - Liturgia Diária ::: 🇺🇸Great day - Nov 29 - Daily Liturgy

Watch that He does not find you sleeping.

1a.Leitura
Leitura do livro do profeta Isaías 63,16-17.19; 64,2-7 – 16Senhor, tu és nosso pai, nosso redentor; eterno é o teu nome. – Palavra do Senhor.

1st. Reading
Reading the book of the prophet Isaiah 6,16-17.19; 64,2-7 - 16Lord, you are our father, our redeemer; eternal is your name. 17How did you let us walk far from your ways and harden our hearts so that we would not have your fear? For the love of your servants, of the tribes of your heritage, go back. 19Ah! if you broke the skies and descended! The mountains would fall apart before you. 64,2You went down then, and the mountains melted before you. 3 No one has ever heard or been heard in anyone's ears, never have they seen that a God, except you, has done so much for those who hope in Him. 4 You come to meet those who practice justice with joy, those who remember you in your ways. You have angered yourself, because we have sinned; it is in the ways of yore that we will be saved. 5We all become filth, and all our good works are like a dirty cloth; we all wither like leaves, and our wickedness pushes us like the wind. 6 There is no one who calls on your name, who stands up to meet you; you hid your face from us and delivered us to the mercy of our wickedness. 7So, Lord, you are our father, we are clay; you, our potter, and we all, the work of your hands. - Word of the Lord.

Salmo 79/80
2. Voltai-vos para nós, Deus do universo! † Olhai dos altos céus e observai. / Visitai a vossa vinha e protegei-a!

Psalm 79/80
Illuminate your face over us, / convert us, that we may be saved!
1. O shepherd of Israel, listen. † You who sit on the cherubim, / appear full of glory and splendor! / Awake your power, O our God, / and then come and bring us salvation!
2. Turn to us, God of the universe! † Look from the high heavens and observe. / Visit your vineyard and protect it! / It was your right hand that planted it; / protect it, and the sprout you have made!
3. Place your hand over your protégé, / the son of man you have chosen for yourself! / And we will never leave you again, Lord God! / Give us life, and we will praise your name!

Evangelho

Gospel
Proclamation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Mark 13,33-37 - At that time, Jesus said to his disciples: 33 “Watch out! Pay attention, because you do not know when the time will come. 34It is like a man who, when he left abroad, left his home under the responsibility of his employees, distributing his task to each one. And he ordered the porter to watch. 35 Watch therefore, because you do not know when the owner of the house comes: in the afternoon, at midnight, at dawn or at dawn. 36Let it not happen that, coming suddenly, he finds you sleeping. 37What I say to you, I say to everyone: watch! ” - Word of salvation.

To think about
We started the Advent Season with an appeal to vigilance. To illustrate this theme, the author tells a parable: the owner of the house is going to travel and leaves his servants responsible for the care of the house and business until he returns. The moment of the return, however, is uncertain, so the need to stay "awake". The absence of the owner can be a metaphor for the absence of Christ, between the first and the second coming. During this absence, Christ entrusts his cause to us, his community. We do not know when he will return to ask for accounts of the service he has entrusted to us, hence the call for vigilance: not accommodating us, but carrying on with the task he has entrusted to us. The appeal of this gospel is very interesting, because it encourages us to be always looking forward, acting, feeding the hope of an ever better future. Who does not live in this perspective of waiting ends up settling.

To Pray
Lord Jesus, give us the awareness that our life here on earth is fleeting and we do not know the time and circumstances of our passage into eternity. Therefore, we ask You: keep us attentive and committed to constantly practicing Your teachings. Amen.

Ficai atentos e orai a todo momento.
Stay alert and pray at all times.

1a.Leitura
– Palavra do Senhor.

1st. Reading
Reading of the book of the Apocalypse of St. John 22,1-7 - To me, John, 1st angel of the Lord, he showed me a river of living water, which shone like crystal. The river flowed from the throne of God and the Lamb. 2In the middle of the square, on either side of the river, trees of life are planted; they bear fruit twelve times a year; each month they bear fruit; its leaves serve to heal the nations. 3 There will no longer be any curse. In the city will be the throne of God and the Lamb, and his servants will be able to worship him. 4 They will see his face, and his name will be on their foreheads. 5 There will be no more night: there will be no need for the light of the lamp or the sunlight, because the Lord God will shine on them and they will reign for all eternity. 6Then the angel said to me: “These words are worthy of faith and true, for the Lord, the God who inspires the prophets, sent his angel, to show his servants what must happen very soon. 7Behold, I am coming soon. Happy is he who observes the words of the prophecy in this book ”. - Word of the Lord.

Salmo 94/95
Amém! Vem, ó Senhor Jesus! Amém!

Psalm 94/95
Amen! Come, O Lord Jesus! Amen!
1. Come, let us rejoice in the Lord, / let us praise the rock that saves us! / Let us walk with praise, / and with joyful songs we celebrate it!
2. In fact, the Lord is the great God, / the great king, far greater than all the gods. / You have the depths of the abyss in your hands, / and the heights of the mountains belong to you; / the sea is his, for he was the one who made it, / and the firm land his hands shaped it.
3. Come, let us worship and prostrate ourselves on the ground, / and kneel before the God who created us! / Because he is our God, our shepherd, † and we are his people and his flock, / the sheep he leads with his hand.

Evangelho

Gospel
Proclamation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Luke 21,34-36 - At that time Jesus said to his disciples: 34 “Take care that your hearts are not desensitized because of gluttony, drunkenness and the worries of life and that day suddenly fall on you; 35this day will fall as a trap upon all the inhabitants of the whole earth. 36Therefore, stay alert and pray at all times, so that you will have the strength to escape everything that must happen and to stand before the Son of Man ”. - Word of salvation.

To think about
Vigilance and prayer, strong and frequent themes at Advent, are Jesus' recommendations for our lives. Persevering prayer puts us in harmony with God, attentive to his projects, without fear of his visit. Our model of vigilance is Jesus Christ, always ready to do the Father's will: “I always do what pleases him” (Jn 8,29). To the Christians of Thessalonica, the apostle Paul recommended: “Do not get tired of doing good” (2Th 3,13).

To Pray
O Jesus Master, Way, Truth and Life, Your message warns us against excessive concern for the things of this world. They can lead us astray from true gospel values. Help us, Lord, to be persevering in doing good and building Your Kingdom. Amen.

🇧🇷Ótimo dia - 27 Nov - Liturgia Diária ::: 🇺🇸Great day - Nov 27 - Daily Liturgy

Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away.

1a.Leitura
– Palavra do Senhor.

1st. Reading
Reading of the book of the Apocalypse of Saint John 20,1-4: 11-21,2 - I, John, 1saw an angel descend from heaven. In his hand he held the key to the abyss and a large chain. 2He grabbed the dragon, the ancient serpent, which is the devil, Satan. He chained him for a thousand years and threw him into the abyss. Then he locked and sealed the abyss, so that the dragon would no longer seduce the nations of the earth, until the thousand years were over. After the thousand years, the dragon must be released, but for a short time. 4 Then I saw thrones, and their occupants sat down and were given the power to judge. I also saw the souls of those who were beheaded because of the testimony of Jesus and the Word of God and those who had not worshiped the beast or its image, nor had they received the mark of the beast on their foreheads or hands. They returned to live, to reign with Christ for a thousand years. 11I also saw a great white throne and the one sitting on it. Heaven and earth fled their presence and their place was no longer found. 12I also saw the dead, the great and the small, standing before the throne. Books were opened, and yet another book: the book of life. Then the dead were judged, according to their conduct, as written in the books. 13The sea returned the dead who were in it. Death and the abode of the dead handed over their dead. And each was judged according to his conduct. 14The death and the abode of the dead were then cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death: the lake of fire. 15 Whoever did not have his name written in the book of life was also cast into the lake of fire. 21.1 Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth. For the first heaven and the first land have passed, and the sea is no more. 2I saw the holy city, the new Jerusalem, coming down from heaven, from God, dressed like a bride adorned for her husband. - Word of the Lord.

Salmo 83/84
Eis a tenda de Deus no meio do povo!

Psalm 83/84
This is the tent of God among the people!
1. My soul falls short of longing / and longs for the courts of the Lord! / My heart and my flesh rejoice / and rejoice in the living God!
2. Even the sparrow finds shelter in your house † and the swallow there prepares its nest / to place its young in it: / your altars, O Lord God of the universe! / Your altars, my king and my Lord!
3. Happy are those who live in your house; / they will forever praise you! / Happy are those who have your strength in you, / will walk with an ever-growing ardor.

Evangelho

To think about
The parable of the fig tree refers to the proximity of the Kingdom of God. It is possible to apply it to the fall of Jerusalem and to the final judgment (parusia). It is a message of hope and deliverance. The destruction of Jerusalem forced the Church to detach itself from Judaism and openly decided to the peoples of the whole world: "They will be my witnesses ... to the ends of the earth" (Acts 1,8). Every evangelization is a way to keep that Kingdom always present and effective. Therefore, the effective presence of the Kingdom of God and the coming of the Lord's day, the certainty of the words that do not pass, all of this demands from us promptness, vigilance and prayer. Jesus' words remain alive and present, so powerful and persuasive that many people, by their influence, give their lives for the proclamation of the gospel.

To Pray
Lord Jesus, you speak of the reality of history, which is woven of tragic and painful facts, but also of events that bring joy and hope. The construction of the Kingdom of God necessarily involves these movements. What matters is that we never abandon Your plans of love. Amen.

🇧🇷Ótimo dia - 26 Nov - Liturgia Diária ::: 🇺🇸Great day - Nov 26 - Daily Liturgy

A vossa libertação está próxima.
Your deliverance is at hand.

1a.Leitura
Caiu Babilônia, a grande! – Palavra do Senhor.

1st. Reading
Reading of the book of the Apocalypse of São João 18,1-2.21-23; 19.1-3.9 - I, John, saw another angel descending from heaven. It had great power, and the earth was all lit up with its glory. 2He shouted in a powerful voice: “Fell! Babylon the Great has fallen! It has become the home of demons, shelter from all evil spirits, shelter from filthy and disgusting birds ”. 21At that time, a mighty angel lifted a stone the size of a great millstone and threw it into the sea, saying: “With this strength Babylon the great city will be thrown and will never be found again. 22And the singing of harpists and musicians, of flutists and trumpet players, in you will never be heard again; and no artist of art in you will ever be found; and the mill song in you will never be heard again; 23and the light of the lamp in you will never shine again; and the voice of the husband and wife in you will never be heard again, because your merchants were the greatest in the land, and with magic you have bewitched all nations ”. 19.1 After that, I heard a loud rumor, from a large crowd in the sky, crying out: “Hallelujah! Salvation, glory and power belong to our God, 2 because their judgments are true and just. Yes, God judged the great prostitute, who corrupted the land with her prostitution, and avenged the blood of her servants there ”. 3E repeated: “Hallelujah! Her smoke is rising for all eternity! ” 9And an angel said to me, "Write: happy are the guests for the wedding feast of the Lamb." - Word of the Lord.

Salmo 99/100

Psalm 99/100
Blessed are those who have been invited / to the wedding supper of the wedding of the Lamb!
1. Praise the Lord, O whole earth, † serve the Lord with joy, / go to him, singing joyfully!
2. Know that the Lord, only he, is God, † He himself made us, and we are his, / we are his people and his flock.
3. Enter your doors giving thanks, † and in your courts with hymns of praise; / give thanks, your name bless!
4. Yes, the Lord and our God are good, † His goodness endures forever, / His love is faithful forever!

Evangelho

Gospel
Proclamation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Luke 21,20-28 - At that time, Jesus said to his disciples: 20 “When you see Jerusalem surrounded by armies, know that its destruction is at hand. 21Then those in Judea must flee to the mountains; those in the middle of the city should move away; those in the country do not enter the city. 22For these days are vengeance, so that all that the Scriptures say may be fulfilled. 23Unhappy with pregnant women and those who are breastfeeding in those days, for there will be a great calamity on earth and wrath against this people. 24They will be killed by the sword and taken prisoner to all nations, and Jerusalem will be trampled underfoot by the infidels, until the time of the heathen is complete. 25 There will be signs in the sun, moon and stars. On earth, nations will be distressed, terrified by the noise of the sea and the waves. 26 Men will pass out from fear just thinking about what will happen to the world, because the forces of heaven will be shaken. 27Then they will see the Son of Man coming on a cloud with great power and glory. 28When these things start to happen, get up and lift your head, because your deliverance is at hand ”. - Word of salvation.

To think about
The first part announces the destruction of Jerusalem, between the years 66 and 70 of our era. The city was "surrounded by armies", and the survivors were "taken prisoner to all nations". History records that, in fact, many Jews were sold as slaves. After the fall of Jerusalem, the story continues. It is the time of preaching to all nations (cf. Lk 24,47). It is a new phase in which everyone is invited to form God's people. The second part refers to the final judgment, which Jesus will perform for his death and resurrection and for the testimony of Christians in the world. All powers grounded in injustice will be shaken, because Jesus Christ and Christians will bring out truth and justice.

To Pray
O Jesus, you announce the destruction of Jerusalem, the city that killed the ancient prophets and discarded your kind presence. At the same time, you reveal that Your disciples can open themselves to hope, removing all fear: “Lift up your head, for your deliverance is at hand”. Amen.

🇧🇷Ótimo dia - 25 Nov - Liturgia Diária ::: 🇺🇸Great day - Nov 25 - Daily Liturgy

É permanecendo firmes que ireis ganhar a vida!
It is by standing firm that you will earn a living!

1a.Leitura
– Palavra do Senhor.

1st. Reading
Reading of the book of the Apocalypse of St. John 15,1-4 - I, John, saw in heaven another sign, great and admirable: seven angels, with the last seven plagues. With them the fury of God was going to be consummated. 2I also saw a sea of glass mixed with fire. Standing on that sea were all those who emerged victorious from the confrontation with the beast, with its image and with the number of the beast's name. They held God's harps. 3 They chanted the song of Moses, the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying: “Great and wonderful are your works, Lord God, almighty! Your ways are just and true, O king of nations! 4Who would not fear, Lord, and glorify your name? Only you are holy! All nations will come to prostrate before you, because your just decisions have become manifest ”. - Word of the Lord.

Salmo - 97/98
4. Na presença do Senhor, pois ele vem, / vem julgar a terra inteira. / Julgará o universo com justiça / e as nações com equidade.

Psalm - 97/98
How great and admirable are your works, / O Lord and our omnipotent God!
1. Sing a new song to the Lord God, / because he has done wonders! / His strong and holy hand and arm / have won him victory.
2. The Lord made salvation known, / and to the nations, their righteousness; / remembered his always faithful love / for the house of Israel.
3. Applaud the sea with every being that lives in it, / the whole world and everyone! / Mountains and rivers clap their hands / and rejoice in joy.
4. In the presence of the Lord, for he comes, / comes to judge the whole earth. / Will judge the universe with justice / and nations with fairness.

Evangelho

Gospel
Proclamation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Luke 21,12-19 - At that time, Jesus said to his disciples: 12 “Before these things happen, you will be arrested and persecuted; you will be delivered to synagogues and put in prison; you will be brought before kings and governors because of my name. 13 This will be the time when you will witness your faith. 14 Make a firm intention not to plan your defense in advance; 15for I will give you words so correct that none of your enemies will be able to resist or fight you. 16 You will be delivered even by your own parents, siblings, relatives and friends. And they will kill some of you. 17 Everyone will hate you because of my name. 18But you will not lose a hair on your head. 19It is by standing firm that you will earn a living! ” - Word of salvation.

To think about
Evangelist Lucas, who is also the author of the Acts of the Apostles, knows that persecution against Christians came early, starting with the Jewish authorities: “You will be arrested… you will be taken to synagogues and prisons”. Disciples and disciples of Jesus suffer the accusations of the chiefs, the betrayal of family members and the hatred of all. Stephen is stoned and killed, the first martyr. The apostle James, from Jerusalem, beheaded. Constant tribulations torment Peter, Paul, Silas and other missionaries. Jesus assures you of divine assistance: "I will give you words and wisdom, which none of the adversaries will be able to resist or fight back." And it reinforces the guarantee that “not even one hair on your head will be lost”. It is important that they remain faithful in following Jesus and his Kingdom.

To Pray
O Master, clearly present the reality that Your disciples will experience because of Your name. On the one hand, inevitable and harsh persecutions; on the other, the guarantee of total divine assistance. Grant us, Lord, strength to resist adversity and confidence in Your unceasing protection. Amen.

🇧🇷Ótimo dia - 24 Nov - Liturgia Diária ::: 🇺🇸Great day - Nov 24 - Daily Liturgy

Days will come when there will be no stone unturned.

1a.Leitura
– Palavra do Senhor.

1st. Reading
Reading the book of the Apocalypse of St. John 14,14-19 - I, John, in my vision, saw a white cloud and, sitting on the cloud, someone who looked like a “son of man”. He had a gold crown on his head and a sharp sickle in his hands. 15 Another angel came out of the temple, shouting out loud to the one sitting on the cloud: “Throw your sickle and reap. Harvest time has come. The land is ripe! ” 16And he who sat in the cloud threw the sickle, and the earth was mown. 17Then another angel left the temple in heaven. He, too, had a sharp sickle in his hands. 18And yet another angel came out from the altar, the one who has power over fire. He shouted out loud to the one who held the sharp scythe: "Throw the scythe and pick the bunches of the earth's vine, because the grapes are already ripe". 19And the angel threw the sharp sickle into the earth and picked the grapes from the vine of the earth. Then he poured the grapes into the great winepress of God's wrath. - Word of the Lord.

Salmo - 95/96
O Senhor vem julgar nossa terra.

Psalm - 95/96
The Lord comes to judge our land.
1. Publish among the nations: "The Lord reigns!" † He established the universe unshakable, / and the peoples he judges justly.
2. The sky rejoices and exult the earth, / applauds the sea with what lives in its waters; / the fields with their fruits rejoice, / and the forests and forests rejoice.
3. In the presence of the Lord, for he comes, / because he comes to judge the whole earth. / He will rule the whole world with justice / and the people will judge with loyalty.

Evangelho

Gospel
Proclamation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Luke 21,5-11 - At that time, 5 people were commenting on the temple, which was decorated with beautiful stones and votive offerings. Jesus said: 6 “Do you admire these things? Days will come when there will be no stone unturned. Everything will be destroyed ”. 7But they asked, “Master, when will this happen? And what will be the sign that these things are going to happen? ” 8Jesus replied: "Be careful not to be deceived, because many will come in my name, saying: 'It is me!' And still: 'The time is at hand'. Don't follow these people! 9When you hear about wars and revolutions, do not be terrified. These things must happen first, but it will not be the end soon ”. 10And Jesus continued: “One people will rise up against another people, one country will attack another country. 11There will be great earthquakes, famines and pests in many places; dreadful things will happen and great signs will be seen in the sky ”. - Word of salvation.

To think about
Jesus predicts the destruction of Jerusalem and the Temple: "There will be no stone unturned." When Luke wrote the gospel, around the year 80, the “holy city” and the Temple had already been destroyed. A curiosity that spans the centuries is: when will be the end, that is, the coming of the Son of Man? Jesus does not set a date. It just seeks to show that history follows its course with wars and revolutions, earthquakes, famine, plague. They are scourges, unfortunately constant, that mark the life of humanity. Charlatans will appear frightening the people with their misleading predictions. Jesus warns: "Be careful not to be deceived". In the midst of this whirlwind of natural tragedies and false news, the gospel proposes Jesus to us as the true deliverer, the only Master whom we must follow and serve.

To Pray
O Jesus, divine Master, with you we learn that nothing in this world is forever. Even the Temple, which seemed indestructible, will end in ruins. Help us, Lord, to focus our interests and energies on perennial values, such as the practice of justice, love and solidarity. Amen.
