🇧🇷 Reflexão 31/05/2019 🇺🇸 Reflection

A festa da “Visitação” .
The Festival of "Visitation".

The Festival of "Visitation" depicts the episode in which Maria, already pregnant, visits Isabel, a pregnant woman for six months. While he brings his little boy into his bosom, Mary becomes a true dwelling of God and as such is revered by the cousin: "You are blessed among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb!" Then Mary proclaims one of the most beautiful hymns of the New Testament. Henceforth it will no longer be with stones that the abode of God shall be built, but with faith, love and hope. The feast of the Visitation of Our Lady, celebrated by the Franciscans at the end of the 13TH century, was introduced in the universal calendar by Pope Urban VI in 1389.

– Palavra do Senhor.

🇧🇷 Reflexão 29/05/2019 🇺🇸 Reflection

O Espírito Santo vos conduzirá à plena verdade.
The Holy Spirit will lead you to the full truth.

Adapted by Flávio.

Sad with the news of the departure of Jesus, the Apostles cannot assimilate the "many things" that Jesus still has to communicate with them. Jesus, however, assures them that the spirit of truth will clarify, according to circumstances and needs, what is about to happen. The spirit will transmit what he receives from Jesus and the father: "All the things that the father has are mine." The Holy Spirit will glorify Jesus, that is, he will show that all that Jesus taught and practiced are works of God and that he, Jesus, overcome the humiliation of the cross, is with the father. The Holy Spirit continues the project of Jesus in the life of the church and in our personal life.

1a. Leitura
– Palavra do Senhor.

1st. Reading
Reading of the Acts of the Apostles 17, 15.22-18, 1 – In those days, 15 who led Paul took him to Athens. From there, returning, they transmitted to Silas and Timothy the order that they would go to him as soon as possible. And they left. 22 standing in the middle of the Areopago, Paul said: "Athenian men, in all I see that you are extremely religious. 23Indeed, passing and observing your places of worship, I also found an altar with this inscription: ' To the unknown God '. Well, that God you love without knowing is exactly the one I announce to you. 24The God who made the world and all that exists in it; Being Lord of Heaven and earth, he does not dwell in shrines made by human hands. 25It is Also not served by human hands, as if it needed something; For it is he who gives all life, breath and everything else. 26Of One man he made the whole human race to dwell upon all the face of the earth, having fixed the previously established times and the limits of his dwelling. 27So he did so that they would seek God and see if they would find him, even if they were growed. He is not far from each of us, 28 for in Him we live, we move and we exist, as some of your poets have said: ' We are of the race of God Himself. ' 29Being therefore of the race of God, we must not think that divinity is similar to gold, silver or stone, crafted by the art and imagination of man. 30But God, without taking into account the times of ignorance, now announces to men that all and everywhere repent, 31for he has established a day when he will judge the world with righteousness through the man who has appointed before all, offering a guarantee , by resurrecting him from the dead. " 32When they heard of the resurrection of the dead, some were mocking and others said, "We shall hear thee speak of it on another occasion." 33So Paul came out of their midst. 34Some, however, joined him and embraced the faith. Among them was also Dionysius, the Areopagita, a woman named Dâmaris and others with them. 18, 1Paul left Athens and went to Corinth. – Word of the Lord.

Evangelho
Aleluia, aleluia, aleluia.

Gospel
Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah. I will pray to my father, and he shall send you another paraclete, which shall remain eternally with you (Jn 14.16). – Proclamation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ according to John 16,12-15 – At that time Jesus said to his disciples: 12 "I have many things to say to you, but you are not able to understand them now. 13When The Spirit of truth comes, he will lead you to the full truth. For he will not speak for himself, but he will say everything he has heard; And even future things will announce you. 14He will glorify me, for he shall receive from what is mine, and He shall announce it. 15Everything The father owns is mine. That is why he said that what he will receive and shall announce unto you is mine. " – Word of salvation.

Salmo 148

Psalm 148
Your glory is filled with heaven and earth.
- Praise the Lord God in the High heavens,/praise him in the excellent firsts! /Praise Him, your angels, all praise him,/praise him, Heavenly legions!
- Kings of the Earth, all peoples, bless him,/and you, princes and all judges; /And you, young men, and yourselves, ladies and boys,/elders and children, bless him!
- Praise the name of the Lord, praise him all,/because only his name is Excelso! /The majesty and splendor of his glory/surpass in greatness the sky and the Earth.
- He exalted his elected people in power,/he is the motive of praise to his saints. /It is a hymn to the children of Israel,/This people that he loves and belongs to him.

🇧🇷 Reflexão 28/05/2019 🇺🇸 Reflection

O chefe deste mundo já está condenado.
The chief of this world is already doomed.

Adapted by Flávio.

Persecutions and the return of Jesus to the father, leave the Apostles sad. But Jesus comforts them by assuring them that, after their glorification, they will send to them the Holy Spirit who is the one who sustains us, the Paraclete. The word paraclete means "what is beside me to support me," so that I will not fall, that I will go forth, that I will retain this youth of the spirit. The Christian is always young: always. When the heart of the Christian begins to grow old, his vocation as a Christian begins to diminish. The glorification of Jesus proves that he was an innocent victim. The condemnation of the world is decreed in the death and resurrection of Jesus and will continue to happen in the lives of the faithful, by the action of the Holy Spirit throughout history.

1a. Leitura
– Palavra do Senhor.

1st. Reading
Reading of the Acts of the Apostles 16,22-34 – In those days, the 22nd multitude of the Philippians rose against Paul and Silas; And the magistrates, after tearing their garments, had them scouring the two with sticks. 23 After flogging them enough, they threw us into prison, ordering the jailer to guard them with all security. 24Upon receiving that order, the jailer took them to the bottom of the prison and fastened their feet on the trunk. 25Midnight, Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God. The other prisoners listened to them. 26 Suddenly, there was an earthquake so violent, it shook the foundations of the prison. All the doors opened, and the chains of all were released. 27Th jailer woke Up and saw the doors of the prison open. Thinking the prisoners had fled, pulled the sword and was about to commit suicide. 28But Paul shouted loudly: "Do not do any harm! We're all here. " 29Then the jailer asked for torches, ran inward and, trembling, fell at the feet of Paul and Silas. 30Leading them out, asked: "Gentlemen, what shall I do to be saved?" 31Paul and Silas replied, "Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you and all of your family will be saved." 32Then Paul and Silas announced the word of the Lord to the jailer and all of his family. 33At the same time of night, the jailer took them with him to wash the wounds caused by the scouring. And immediately he was baptized along with all his relatives. 34Then Paul and Silas went up to his house, prepared them a dinner and rejoled with all his relatives for believing in God. – Word of the Lord.

Evangelho

Gospel
I will send you the spirit of truth; /he will lead you to the whole truth (Jn 16, 7.13). -Proclamation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ according to John 16.5-11 – At that time Jesus said to his disciples: 5 "Now I leave for the one who sent me and none of you ask me, ' Where are you going? ' 6But because I have told you this, sorrow has filled your hearts. 7Yet I tell you the truth: it is good for you that I depart; If I am not, the defender will not come unto you; But if I go, I will send it. 8And when he comes, he will demonstrate to the world in which they consist of sin, justice and judgment: 9th sin, because they did not believe in me; 10a righteousness, for I go to the father, so that thou shall not see me again; 11and the judgment, because the chief of this world is already condemned. " – Word of salvation.

Salmo 137/138
Ó Senhor, me estendeis o vosso braço e me ajudais.

Psalm 137/138
O Lord, extend your arm and help me.
- O Lord, in my heart I give you thanks,/Because you have heard the words of my lips! /Before your Angels I will sing to you/and before your Temple I will prostrate myself.
- I thank your love, your truth,/because you have done much more than you promised; /That day I cried, you listened to me/and increased the vigor of my soul.
- You have your arm in my aid/and you will save me with your right hand. /Complete In me the work begun; O Lord, your goodness is forever! /I ask you: do not leave unfinished/this work that made your hands!

If you keep my word, you will also keep yours.

Adapted by Flávio.

Why are the disciples persecuted? Because they don't belong to the world of injustice, inequality. Jesus does not covenant with this world closed to the message of love. His disciples must be faithful to the master, so they know that rejection awaits them, since "a servant is no greater than his lord." But don't be discouraged, not everything is a storm in the lives of these missionaries. For in the same way they heard and welcomed the word of Jesus, others will give credit to the words of his disciples.

1a. Leitura
– Palavra do Senhor.

1st. Reading
Reading of the Acts of the Apostles 16.1-10 – in those days, 1Paul went to Derbe and Listra. There was in stripe a disciple named Timothy, the son of a Jew, believer, and a Greek father. 2The Brothers of Stripe and Iconius gave good testimony of Timothy. 3Paul then wanted Timothy to depart with him. He took it with him and circumcised it, because of the Jews who were in these regions, for everyone knew that Timothy's father was Greek. 4Through the cities, Paul and Timothy conveyed the decisions which the apostles and elders of Jerusalem had taken. And they recommended that they be observed. 5The churches strengthened in faith and, from day to day, grew in numbers. 6Paul and Timothy went through Phygia and the region of Galatia, for the Holy Spirit prohibited them from preaching the word of God in Asia. 7Arriving near Mísia, they tried to enter Bithynia, but the spirit of Jesus prevented them. 8Then they crossed Mysia and descended to Trôade. 9During the night, Paul had a vision: before him stood a Macedonian who begged him: "Come to Macedonia and help us!" 10After This vision, we sought to depart immediately to Macedonia, for we were convinced that God had just called us to preach the gospel to them. – Word of the Lord.

Evangelho
Aleluia, aleluia, aleluia.

Gospel

If with Christ you have risen, seek what is from above,/where Christ is seated, to the right of God the Father (Col 3,1). – Proclamation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ according to John 15,18-21 – At that time Jesus said to his disciples: 18 "If the world hates you, know that you first hated me. 19If you Were from the world, the world would like what belongs to you. But because you are not of the world, because I have chosen you and I have trimmed the world, the world so hates you. 20Remember What I said unto you, ' The servant is no greater than his lord. ' If they persecued me, they will also pursue you. If you keep my word, you will also keep yours. 21All This they will do against you because of my name, because they do not know the one who sent me. " – Word of salvation.
