Eu conheço as minhas ovelhas.

I know my sheep.

O 4º domingo da Páscoa é conhecido como o “domingo do Bom Pastor”. No texto de hoje, os discípulos de Jesus escutam sua voz e o seguem, ou seja, aderem a ele não com palavras, mas com atos. O texto nos diz que a promessa para os fiéis seguidores é a “vida definitiva” e a certeza de que Deus não os abandonará à própria sorte. É preciso ter sempre presente a necessidade de escutar a voz do Mestre e seguir seus passos. Jesus, novo templo, torna presente o próprio Pai: “Eu e o Pai somos um”. Comemoramos também o Dia das Mães e que Deus continue abençoando a todas mães.

The 4th Sunday of Easter is known as the "Sunday of the Good Shepherd". In today's text, the disciples of Jesus hear his voice and follow him, that is, they adhere to him not with words, but with deeds. The text tells us that the promise to the faithful followers is "definitive life" and the certainty that God will not abandon them to their own luck. You must always have the need to listen to the master's voice and follow in his footsteps. Jesus, the new temple, makes his father present: "I and the father are one." We also commemorate Mother's Day and that God continues to bless all mothers.

Leitura dos Atos dos Apóstolos 13,14.43-52 – Naqueles dias, Paulo e Barnabé, 14partindo de Perge, chegaram a Antioquia da Pisídia. E, entrando na sinagoga em dia de sábado, sentaram-se. 43Muitos judeus e pessoas piedosas convertidas ao judaísmo seguiram Paulo e Barnabé. Conversando com eles, os dois insistiam para que continuassem fiéis à graça de Deus. 44No sábado seguinte, quase toda a cidade se reuniu para ouvir a palavra de Deus. 45Ao verem aquela multidão, os judeus ficaram cheios de inveja e, com blasfêmias, opunham-se ao que Paulo dizia. 46Então, com muita coragem, Paulo e Barnabé declararam: “Era preciso anunciar a palavra de Deus primeiro a vós. Mas como a rejeitais e vos considerais indignos da vida eterna, sabei que vamos dirigir-nos aos pagãos. 47Porque esta é a ordem que o Senhor nos deu: ‘Eu te coloquei como luz para as nações, para que leves a salvação até os confins da terra’”. 48Os pagãos ficaram muito contentes quando ouviram isso e glorificavam a palavra do Senhor. Todos os que eram destinados à vida eterna abraçaram a fé. 49Desse modo, a palavra do Senhor espalhava-se por toda a região. 50Mas os judeus instigaram as mulheres ricas e religiosas, assim como os homens influentes da cidade, provocaram uma perseguição contra Paulo e Barnabé e expulsaram-nos do seu território. 51Então os apóstolos sacudiram contra eles a poeira dos pés e foram para a cidade de Icônio. 52Os discípulos, porém, ficaram cheios de alegria e do Espírito Santo. – Palavra do Senhor.

1st. Reading 

Reading of the Acts of the Apostles 13, 14.43-52 – in those days, Paul and Barnabas, 14departing from Perge, arrived in Antioquia from Pisídia. And, entering the synagogue on a Sabbath day, they sat down. 43Many Jews and pious people converted to Judaism followed Paul and Barnabas. Talking to them, the two insisted that they remain faithful to the grace of God. 44The next Saturday, almost all the city met to hear the word of God. 45When they saw that multitude, the Jews were full of envy and, with blasphemy, opposed to what Paul said. 46Then, with great courage, Paul and Barnabas declared: "We must proclaim the word of God to you first. But as you reject and consider yourselves unrighteous in eternal life, know that we will address the heathens. 47For This is the order which the Lord gave us: ' I have put thee as a light unto the nations, that he shall take salvation to the ends of the earth. ' " 48The Pagans were very happy when they heard that and glorified the word of the Lord. All who were destined for eternal life embraced the faith. 49Thus, the word of the Lord spread throughout the region. 50But the Jews instist the rich and religious women, as well as the influential men of the city, provoked a persecution against Paul and Barnabas and expelled them from their territory. 51Then the apostles shook against them the dust of their feet and went to the city of Iconius. 52The disciples, however, were filled with joy and the Holy Spirit. – Word of the Lord.

Aleluia, aleluia, aleluia. Eu sou o bom pastor, diz o Senhor; / eu conheço as minhas ovelhas e elas me conhecem a mim (Jo 10,14). Proclamação do evangelho de Jesus Cristo segundo João 10,27-30 – Naquele tempo, disse Jesus: 27“As minhas ovelhas escutam a minha voz, eu as conheço e elas me seguem. 28Eu dou-lhes a vida eterna, e elas jamais se perderão. E ninguém vai arrancá-las de minha mão. 29Meu Pai, que me deu estas ovelhas, é maior que todos, e ninguém pode arrebatá-las da mão do Pai. 30Eu e o Pai somos um”. – Palavra da salvação.

I am the Good Shepherd, saith the Lord; /I know my sheep and they know Me (Jn 10.14). – Proclamation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ according to John 10,27-30 – At that time Jesus said: 27 "My sheep listen to my voice, I know them and they follow me. 28I give them eternal life, and they will never be lost. And nobody's going to rip them out of my hand. 29My father, who has given me these sheep, is greater than all, and no one can snatch them from the hand of the father. 30I and the father are one.
