Eu sou o pão da vida.

Reflexão

Jesus é o grande canal de ligação entre Deus e o povo. Existe um projeto de amor e salvação para todos, e Jesus é o encarregado de levar a termo esse projeto: “Desci do céu, não para fazer a minha vontade, mas a vontade daquele que me enviou”. Acreditar em Jesus é aderir à sua pessoa, é considerá-lo como o mensageiro do Pai e como fonte inesgotável de vida: “Quem vem a mim nunca mais terá fome, e quem acredita em mim nunca mais terá sede”. Quem acredita em Jesus não se perderá; ao contrário, terá garantida sua ressurreição no último dia. Então viverá na glória de Deus para sempre. Cumpre-se desse modo a vontade do Pai, isto é, que não se perca nenhum de seus filhos e filhas espalhados pelo mundo inteiro.

Reflection 

Jesus is the great channel of connection between God and the people. There is a project of love and salvation for all, and Jesus is in charge of bringing this project to an end: "I came down from heaven, not to do my will, but the will of the one who sent me." Believing in Jesus is adhering to his person, is to consider him as the messenger of the father and as an inexhaustible source of life: "Whoever comes to me will never be hungry again, and whoever believes in me will never thirst again." Those who believe in Jesus will not be lost; On the contrary, you will have assured your resurrection on the last day. Then you shall live in the glory of God forever. Thus the will of the father is fulfilled, that is, that one does not lose any of his sons and daughters scattered all over the world.

Leitura dos Atos dos Apóstolos 8,1-8 – 1Naquele dia começou uma grande perseguição contra a Igreja de Jerusalém. E todos, com exceção dos apóstolos, se dispersaram pelas regiões da Judeia e da Samaria. 2Algumas pessoas piedosas sepultaram Estêvão e observaram grande luto por causa dele. 3Saulo, porém, devastava a Igreja: entrava nas casas e arrastava para fora homens e mulheres, para atirá-los na prisão. 4Entretanto, aqueles que se tinham dispersado iam por toda parte, pregando a Palavra. 5Filipe desceu a uma cidade da Samaria e anunciou-lhes o Cristo. 6As multidões seguiam com atenção as coisas que Filipe dizia. E todos unânimes o escutavam, pois viam os milagres que ele fazia. 7De muitos possessos saíam os espíritos maus, dando grandes gritos. Numerosos paralíticos e aleijados também foram curados. 8Era grande a alegria naquela cidade. – Palavra do Senhor.

Reading of the Acts of the Apostles 8.1-8 – 1 on That Day began a great persecution against the Church of Jerusalem. And all, with the exception of the apostles, dispersed through the regions of Judea and Samaria. 2Some pious people buried Stephen and observed great mourning over him. 3Saul, however, raved the church: he entered the houses and dragged out men and women, to throw them in prison. 4However, those who had scattered themselves went everywhere, preaching the word. 5Philip descended to a city of Samaria and announced to them the Christ. 6The crowds followed carefully the things that Philip said. And all unanimously listened to him, for they saw the miracles he did. 7Of many possesses left the evil spirits, giving great screams. Numerous paralytics and cripples were also healed. 8Was great the joy in that city. – Word of the Lord.

Proclamação do evangelho de Jesus Cristo segundo João 6,35-40 – Naquele tempo, disse Jesus à multidão: 35“Eu sou o pão da vida. Quem vem a mim não terá mais fome e quem crê em mim nunca mais terá sede. 36Eu, porém, vos disse que vós me vistes, mas não acreditais. 37Todos os que o Pai me confia virão a mim, e quando vierem, não os afastarei. 38Pois eu desci do céu não para fazer a minha vontade, mas a vontade daquele que me enviou. 39E esta é a vontade daquele que me enviou: que eu não perca nenhum daqueles que ele me deu, mas os ressuscite no último dia. 40Pois esta é a vontade do meu Pai: que toda pessoa que vê o Filho e nele crê tenha a vida eterna.
