Na casa de meu Pai há muitas moradas.

In my father's house there are many addresses.

Com a notícia de que Jesus vai deixá-los, seus discípulos perdem a serenidade. Mas Jesus os tranquiliza: que ponham total confiança nele, assim como confiam em Deus. Jesus pessoalmente vai arrumar um lugar para eles na casa do Pai, e no momento oportuno virá buscá-los. Eles, que se mantêm fiéis no seguimento a Jesus, viverão para sempre com ele na glória do Pai. Quanto ao caminho para chegar a Deus, eles o conhecem: é o próprio Jesus. Com sua vida, morte e ressurreição, Jesus nos precede no caminho. “Eu sou o Caminho… Ninguém chega ao Pai a não ser por mim”. Cabe aos discípulos não perderem a direção, nem dispensarem o inseparável companheiro de viagem, o próprio Jesus.

With the news that Jesus will leave them, his disciples lose their serenity. But Jesus reassures them: that they put full trust in him, just as they trust in God. Jesus will personally arrange a place for them in the father's house, and at the opportune moment he will come for them. They, who remain faithful in the follow-up to Jesus, will live forever with him in the glory of the father. As for the way to reach God, they know him: it is Jesus himself. With his life, death and Resurrection, Jesus precedes us on the way. "I am the way... No one comes to the father except for me. " It is up to the disciples not to lose their direction, nor to dismiss the inseparable companion of travel, Jesus himself.

Leitura dos Atos dos Apóstolos 13,26-33 – Naqueles dias, tendo chegado a Antioquia da Pisídia, Paulo disse na sinagoga: 26“Irmãos, descendentes de Abraão, e todos vós que temeis a Deus, a nós foi enviada esta mensagem de salvação. 27Os habitantes de Jerusalém e seus chefes não reconheceram a Jesus e, ao condená-lo, cumpriram as profecias que se leem todos os sábados. 28Embora não encontrassem nenhum motivo para a sua condenação, pediram a Pilatos que fosse morto. 29Depois de realizarem tudo o que a Escritura diz a respeito de Jesus, eles o tiraram da cruz e o colocaram num túmulo. 30Mas Deus o ressuscitou dos mortos 31e, durante muitos dias, ele foi visto por aqueles que o acompanharam desde a Galileia até Jerusalém. Agora eles são testemunhas de Jesus diante do povo. 32Por isso, nós vos anunciamos este evangelho: a promessa que Deus fez aos antepassados, 33ele a cumpriu para nós, seus filhos, quando ressuscitou Jesus, como está escrito no salmo segundo: ‘Tu és o meu filho, eu hoje te gerei’”. – Palavra do Senhor.

Reading of the Acts of the Apostles 13,26-33 – in those days, having arrived in Antioch from Pisídia, Paul said in the synagogue: 26 "brothers, descendants of Abraham, and all of you who fear God, we have been sent this message of salvation. 27 The inhabitants of Jerusalem and their chiefs did not recognize Jesus and, by condemthe him, fulfilled the prophecies that read every Saturday. 28 Though They found no motive for his condemnation, they asked Pilate to be killed. 29 After They performed all that scripture says about Jesus, they took him from the cross and placed him in a tomb. 30But God raised him from the dead 31e, for many days, he was seen by those who accompanied him from Galilee to Jerusalem. Sou o caminho, a verdade e a vida; / ninguém vem ao Pai, senão por mim (Jo 14,6). - Proclamação do evangelho de Jesus Cristo segundo João 14,1-6 – Naquele tempo, disse Jesus a seus discípulos: 1“Não se perturbe o vosso coração. Tendes fé em Deus, tende fé em mim também. 2Na casa de meu Pai há muitas moradas. Se assim não fosse, eu vos teria dito. Vou preparar um lugar para vós 3e, quando eu tiver ido preparar-vos um lugar, voltarei e vos levarei comigo, a fim de que, onde eu estiver, estejais também vós. 4E para onde eu vou, vós conheceis o caminho”. 5Tomé disse a Jesus: “Senhor, nós não sabemos para onde vais. Como podemos conhecer o caminho?” 6Jesus respondeu: “Eu sou o caminho, a verdade e a vida. Ninguém vai ao Pai senão por mim”. – Palavra da salvação.

I shall prepare a place for you 3e, when I have gone to prepare you a place, I will come back and take you with me, so that wherever I am, you too. 4And where I go, ye know the way. " 5Thomas said to Jesus, "Lord, we do not know where you go. How can we know the way? " 6Jesus replied: "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one goes to the father but for me. " – Word of salvation.
