Leitura do livro do Apocalipse de São João 7,2-4.9-14 – Eu, João, 2vi um outro anjo, que subia do lado onde nasce o sol. Ele trazia a marca do Deus vivo e gritava, em alta voz, aos quatro anjos que tinham recebido o poder de danificar a terra e o mar, dizendo-lhes: 3“Não façais mal à terra, nem ao mar, nem às árvores, até que tenhamos marcado na fronte os servos do nosso Deus”. 4Ouvi então o número dos que tinham sido marcados: eram cento e quarenta e quatro mil, de todas as tribos dos filhos de Israel. 9Depois disso, vi uma multidão imensa de gente de todas as nações, tribos, povos e línguas, que ninguém podia contar. Estavam de pé diante do trono e do Cordeiro; trajavam vestes brancas e traziam palmas na mão. 10Todos proclamavam com voz forte: “A salvação pertence ao nosso Deus, que está sentado no trono, e ao Cordeiro”. 11Todos os anjos estavam de pé, em volta do trono e dos anciãos e dos quatro seres vivos, e prostravam-se, com o rosto por terra, diante do trono. E adoravam a Deus, dizendo: 12“Amém. O louvor, a glória e a sabedoria, a ação de graças, a honra, o poder e a força pertencem ao nosso Deus para sempre. Amém”. 13E um dos anciãos falou comigo e perguntou: “Quem são esses, vestidos com roupas brancas? De onde vieram?” 14Eu respondi: “Tu é que sabes, meu senhor”. E então ele me disse: “Esses são os que vieram da grande tribulação. Lavaram e alvejaram as suas roupas no sangue do Cordeiro”. – Palavra do Senhor.

Reading of the book of the Apocalypse of Saint John 7,2-4,9-14 - I, John, 2vi another angel, who rose from the side where the sun rises. He bore the mark of the living God and shouted aloud to the four angels who had received the power to damage the land and the sea, saying to them: 3 “Do not harm the land, the sea, nor the trees, until we have marked the servants of our God on the forehead ”. 4 Then I heard the number of those who had been marked: there were one hundred and forty-four thousand, of all the tribes of the children of Israel. 9 After that, I saw a huge crowd of people from all nations, tribes, peoples and languages, that no one could count. They were standing before the throne and the Lamb; they wore white robes and clapped their hands. 10 Everyone proclaimed in a strong voice: "Salvation belongs to our God, who is seated on the throne, and to the Lamb". 11 All the angels were standing around the throne and the elders and the four living beings, and they fell on their faces before the throne. And they worshiped God, saying, 12 “Amen. Praise, glory and wisdom, thanksgiving, honor, power and strength belong to our God forever. Amen". 13And one of the elders spoke to me and asked, “Who are these, dressed in white clothes? Where did they come from? ” 14I replied, "You know, my lord." And then he said to me, “These are the ones who came from the great tribulation. They washed and bleached their clothes in the blood of the Lamb ”. - Word of the Lord.

É assim a geração dos que procuram o Senhor!
1. Ao Senhor pertence a terra e o que ela encerra, / o mundo inteiro com os seres que o povoam; / porque ele a tornou firme sobre os mares / e, sobre as águas, a mantém inabalável.
2. “Quem subirá até o monte do Senhor, / quem ficará em sua santa habitação?” / ”Quem tem mãos puras e inocente coração, / quem não dirige sua mente para o crime.
3. Sobre este desce a bênção do Senhor / e a recompensa de seu Deus e salvador”. / “É assim a geração dos que o procuram / e do Deus de Israel buscam a face.”
Psalm 23/24
So is the generation of those who seek the Lord!
1. The Lord belongs to the earth and what it contains, / the whole world with the beings that populate it; / because he made it firm on the seas / and, on the waters, he keeps it steadfast.
2. "Who will go up to the mountain of the Lord, / who will remain in his holy habitation?" / ”Who has pure hands and an innocent heart, / Who does not direct his mind to crime.
3. Upon this descends the blessing of the Lord / and the reward of his God and savior ”. / “This is how the generation of those who seek him / is and the God of Israel seeks the face.”

Proclamação do Evangelho de Jesus Cristo segundo Mateus 5,1-12 – Naquele tempo, 1vendo Jesus as multidões, subiu ao monte e sentou-se. Os discípulos aproximaram-se, 2e Jesus começou a ensiná-los: 3“Bem-aventurados os pobres em espírito, porque deles é o Reino dos céus. 4Bem-aventurados os aflitos, porque serão consolados. 5Bem-aventurados os mansos, porque possuirão a terra. 6Bem-aventurados os que têm fome e sede de justiça, porque serão saciados. 7Bem-aventurados os misericordiosos, porque alcançarão misericórdia. 8Bem-aventurados os puros de coração, porque verão a Deus. 9Bem-aventurados os que promovem a paz, porque serão chamados filhos de Deus. 10Bem-aventurados os que são perseguidos por causa da justiça, porque deles é o Reino dos céus. 11Bem-aventurados sois vós quando vos injuriarem e perseguirem e, mentindo, disserem todo tipo de mal contra vós por causa de mim. 12Alegrai-vos e exultai, porque será grande a vossa recompensa nos céus”. – Palavra da salvação.

Proclamation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Matthew 5,1-12 - At that time, when Jesus saw the crowds, he went up to the mountain and sat down. The disciples came, 2and Jesus began to teach them: 3 “Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the Kingdom of heaven. 4 Blessed are the afflicted, for they will be comforted. 5 Blessed are the meek, for they will possess the land. 6 Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for justice, for they will be satisfied. 7 Blessed are the merciful, for they will attain mercy. 8 Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God. 9 Blessed are those who promote peace, for they will be called children of God. 10 Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. 11 Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you and, lying, say all kinds of evil against you because of me. 12 Rejoice and rejoice, for your reward in heaven will be great ”. - Word of salvation.
Para refletir
A exemplo de Moisés, que, na montanha, recebe a lei e a entrega ao povo, Jesus, ao ver as multidões que vêm a ele, sobe a montanha e nos deixa a nova lei, as bem-aventuranças, início solene do sermão da montanha. As oito bem-aventuranças são dirigidas a toda a multidão, e não apenas aos discípulos de Jesus (a nona é mais específica para seus seguidores). Ele propõe anúncios de felicidade. O que é ser feliz? Onde buscamos a felicidade? Jesus nos diz: felizes os pobres, os que choram, os mansos, os que têm fome e sede de justiça, os misericordiosos, os puros de coração, os que promovem a paz, os perseguidos por causa da justiça. Essas são instâncias de felicidade propostas por Jesus para toda a humanidade, não apenas para alguns grupos específicos. Elas convocam para o “não conformismo”, para a busca dos valores do Reino (paz, justiça, misericórdia). E também não é uma proposta para a vida após a morte, mas para o presente.
To think about
Like Moses, who, on the mountain, receives the law and gives it to the people, Jesus, when he sees the crowds that come to him, climbs the mountain and leaves us the new law, the beatitudes, the solemn beginning of the sermon of Mountain. The eight beatitudes are addressed to the whole crowd, and not just to Jesus' disciples (the ninth is more specific for his followers). He proposes ads for happiness. What is to be happy? Where do we seek happiness? Jesus tells us: happy are the poor, those who mourn, the meek, those who are hungry and thirsty for justice, the merciful, the pure in heart, those who promote peace, those persecuted for the sake of justice. These are instances of happiness proposed by Jesus for all mankind, not just for specific groups. They call for “non-conformism”, for the pursuit of Kingdom values (peace, justice, mercy). Nor is it a proposal for the afterlife, but for the present.

Ó Jesus, és o Caminho que conduz ao Pai; és a Verdade que revela os planos divinos; és a Vida que renova o mundo. Confiantes, te pedimos, Senhor: dá-nos perseverança na constante busca da santidade nesta vida, a fim de vivermos eternamente em comunhão contigo e com todos os santos. Amém.
To Pray
O Jesus, you are the Way that leads to the Father; you are the Truth that reveals the divine plans; you are the Life that renews the world. Confident, we ask you, Lord: give us perseverance in the constant search for holiness in this life, in order to live eternally in communion with you and with all the saints. Amen.
