1a. Leitura

Leitura do livro do Eclesiástico 3,3-7.14-17 – 3Deus honra o pai nos filhos e confirma, sobre eles, a autoridade da mãe. 4Quem honra o seu pai alcança o perdão dos pecados; evita cometê-los e será ouvido na oração quotidiana. 5Quem respeita a sua mãe é como alguém que ajunta tesouros. 6Quem honra o seu pai terá alegria com seus próprios filhos; e, no dia em que orar, será atendido. 7Quem respeita o seu pai terá vida longa, e quem obedece ao pai é o consolo da sua mãe. 14Meu filho, ampara o teu pai na velhice e não lhe causes desgosto enquanto ele vive. 15Mesmo que ele esteja perdendo a lucidez, procura ser compreensivo para com ele; não o humilhes em nenhum dos dias de sua vida: a caridade feita a teu pai não será esquecida, 16mas servirá para reparar os teus pecados 17e, na justiça, será para tua edificação. – Palavra do Senhor.

Proclamação do evangelho de Jesus Cristo segundo Lucas 2,41-52 – 41Os pais de Jesus iam todos os anos a Jerusalém, para a festa da Páscoa. 42Quando ele completou doze anos, subiram para a festa, como de costume. 43Passados os dias da Páscoa, começaram a viagem de volta, mas o menino Jesus ficou em Jerusalém, sem que seus pais o notassem. 44Pensando que ele estivesse na caravana, caminharam um dia inteiro. Depois começaram a procurá-lo entre os parentes e conhecidos. 45Não o tendo encontrado, voltaram para Jerusalém à sua procura. 46Três dias depois, o encontraram no templo. Estava sentado no meio dos mestres, escutando e fazendo perguntas. 47Todos os que ouviam o menino estavam maravilhados com sua inteligência e suas respostas. 48Ao vê-lo, seus pais ficaram muito admirados, e sua mãe lhe disse: “Meu filho, por que agiste assim conosco? Olha que teu pai e eu estávamos, angustiados, à tua procura”. 49Jesus respondeu: “Por que me procuráveis? Não sabeis que devo estar na casa de meu Pai?” 50Eles, porém, não compreenderam as palavras que lhes dissera. 51Jesus desceu então com seus pais para Nazaré e era-lhes obediente. Sua mãe, porém, conservava no coração todas essas coisas. 52E Jesus crescia em sabedoria, estatura e graça, diante de Deus e diante dos homens. – Palavra da salvação.

Proclamation of the gospel of Jesus Christ according to Luke 2,41-52 - 41The parents of Jesus went to Jerusalem every year for the feast of the Passover. 42When he was twelve years old, they went up to the feast as usual. 43 After the Passover, they began their journey home, but the child Jesus stayed in Jerusalem without his parents noticing. Thinking that he was in the caravan, they walked a whole day. Then they began to seek him among relatives and acquaintances. 45 When they had not found him, they returned to Jerusalem to seek him. Three days later, they found him in the temple. He was sitting among the masters, listening and asking questions. All who heard the boy were amazed at his intelligence and his answers. When he saw him, his parents were greatly astonished, and his mother said to him, "My son, why did you do this to us? Look, your father and I were in anguish, looking for you. Refletindo o Evangelho 

O episódio do encontro de Jesus no templo é o evangelho proposto para este dia da Sagrada Família. Desde sua adolescência, o evangelista apresenta Jesus sintonizado com o Pai. Vivendo sua humanidade, como qualquer adolescente, Jesus manifesta sua condição de Filho de Deus. Mesmo tendo pais terrenos, Jesus mostra, desde pequeno, sua relação filial com Deus, seu Pai. Interrogado pela mãe, ele responde que deve se preocupar com as coisas do seu Pai. Seguir a vontade de Deus pode significar ir além dos limitados horizontes da família, da cidade ou até da própria nação. Jesus volta com sua família e convive com ela até o dia em que assumirá sua missão profética e missionária. Ao celebrar a Família de Nazaré – Jesus, Maria e José – a Igreja nos convida a celebrar também nossas famílias e mostrar que também nossas famílias são santas e sagradas. A Família de Nazaré nos é proposta como modelo a ser seguido pelas nossas. O papa Francisco nos diz que a “grande missão da família é dar lugar a Jesus que vem, acolhê-lo na família, na pessoa dos filhos, do marido, da esposa, dos avós. Jesus está ali e acolhê-lo para que cresça espiritualmente naquela família”.
