Leitura do livro do Gênesis 3,9-15.20 – 9O Senhor Deus chamou Adão, dizendo: “Onde estás?” 10E ele respondeu: “Ouvi tua voz no jardim e fiquei com medo, porque estava nu; e me escondi”. 11Disse-lhe o Senhor Deus: “E quem te disse que estavas nu? Então comeste da árvore de cujo fruto te proibi comer?” 12Adão disse: “A mulher que tu me deste por companheira, foi ela que me deu do fruto da árvore, e eu comi”. 13Disse o Senhor Deus à mulher: “Por que fizeste isso?” E a mulher respondeu: “A serpente enganou-me, e eu comi”. 14Então o Senhor Deus disse à serpente: “Porque fizeste isso, serás maldita entre todos os animais domésticos e todos os animais selvagens! Rastejarás sobre o ventre e comerás pó todos os dias da tua vida! 15Porei inimizade entre ti e a mulher, entre a tua descendência e a dela. Esta te ferirá a cabeça e tu lhe ferirás o calcanhar”. 20E Adão chamou à sua mulher Eva, porque ela é a mãe de todos os viventes. – Palavra do Senhor.

Proclamação do evangelho de Jesus Cristo segundo Lucas 1,26-38 – Naquele tempo, 26no sexto mês, o anjo Gabriel foi enviado por Deus a uma cidade da Galileia, chamada Nazaré, 27a uma virgem, prometida em casamento a um homem chamado José. Ele era descendente de Davi e o nome da virgem era Maria. 28O anjo entrou onde ela estava e disse: “Alegra-te, cheia de graça, o Senhor está contigo!” 29Maria ficou perturbada com essas palavras e começou a pensar qual seria o significado da saudação. 30O anjo, então, disse-lhe: “Não tenhas medo, Maria, porque encontraste graça diante de Deus. 31Eis que conceberás e darás à luz um filho, a quem porás o nome de Jesus. 32Ele será grande, será chamado Filho do Altíssimo, e o Senhor Deus lhe dará o trono de seu pai Davi. 33Ele reinará para sempre sobre os descendentes de Jacó, e o seu reino não terá fim”. 34Maria perguntou ao anjo: “Como acontecerá isso se eu não conheço homem algum?” 35O anjo respondeu: “O Espírito virá sobre ti, e o poder do Altíssimo te cobrirá com sua sombra. Por isso, o menino que vai nascer será chamado santo, Filho de Deus. 36Também Isabel, tua parenta, concebeu um filho na velhice. Este já é o sexto mês daquela que era considerada estéril, 37porque para Deus nada é impossível”. 38Maria, então, disse: “Eis aqui a serva do Senhor; faça-se em mim segundo a tua palavra!” E o anjo retirou-se. – Palavra da salvação.

Proclamation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Luke 1: 26-38 - At that time, on the 26th month, the angel Gabriel was sent by God to a city in Galilee, called Nazareth, to a virgin, promised in marriage to a man named Joseph. He was a descendant of David and the name of the virgin was Mary. 28The angel came in and said, "Rejoice, full of grace, the Lord is with you!" 29 Mary was troubled by these words and began to wonder what the meaning of the salutation would be. 30The angel said to him, "Do not be afraid, Mary, because you have found favor with God. 31And thou shalt conceive, and bear a son, and shalt call his name Jesus. 32 He will be great, he will be called the Son of the Most High, and the Lord God will give him the throne of his father David. 33 He shall reign forever over the descendants of Jacob, and his kingdom shall have no end. Refletindo o Evangelho 

Eis aqui a serva do Senhor. A comparação entre o Gênesis e a Anunciação, deu origem à oposição entre Eva e Maria. A mãer do Salvador é a nova Eva. Se a primeira causou a ruína do ser humano, a segunda está no início da redenção, como mãe da vida e o título de "Mãe de todos os viventes" Em contraste com o Antigo Testamento, quando as anunciações são dirigidas aos homens; aqui, Deus, por meio do anjo, se dirige a uma jovem moça, que se tornará mãe pela ação do Espírito. Deus realiza seu projeto, anunciado desde os profetas, com a colaboração, o sim de Maria. Ela é cheia de graça, porque o Senhor está com ela. Diante da proposta do anjo, ela fica em dúvida, mas o mensageiro a esclarece e ela topa o desafio. O menino que vai nascer é o resultado da ação de Deus com o sim da jovem. Para Lucas, Maria é modelo do discipulado de Jesus, isto é, daquelas pessoas que sempre atentas aos planos divinos se dispõem a construir a nova sociedade. Nela encontramos duas atitudes fundamentais de quem deseja colaborar com o projeto de Jesus: fé e serviço. Ela é por excelência, modelo de nossa fé.
