Leitura do livro do profeta Isaías 52,7-10 – 7Como são belos, andando sobre os montes, os pés de quem anuncia e prega a paz, de quem anuncia o bem e prega a salvação, e diz a Sião: “Reina teu Deus!” 8Ouve-se a voz de teus vigias, eles levantam a voz, estão exultantes de alegria, sabem que verão com os próprios olhos o Senhor voltar a Sião. 9Alegrai-vos e exultai ao mesmo tempo, ó ruínas de Jerusalém; o Senhor consolou seu povo e resgatou Jerusalém. 10O Senhor desnudou seu santo braço aos olhos de todas as nações; todos os confins da terra hão de ver a salvação que vem do nosso Deus. – Palavra do Senhor.

E nós contemplamos a sua glória, glória que recebe do Pai como Filho unigênito, cheio de graça e de verdade.] 15Dele João dá testemunho, clamando: “Este é aquele de quem eu disse: O que vem depois de mim passou à minha frente, porque ele existia antes de mim”. 16De sua plenitude todos nós recebemos graça por graça. 17Pois por meio de Moisés foi dada a lei, mas a graça e a verdade nos chegaram através de Jesus Cristo. 18A Deus ninguém jamais viu. Mas o unigênito de Deus, que está na intimidade do Pai, ele no-lo deu a conhecer. – Palavra da salvação.

Refletindo o Evangelho 

Para compreender a encarnação de Deus no seio de Maria, João inicia seu evangelho com o prólogo, no qual encontramos como que uma síntese dos temas desenvolvidos ao longo do evangelho. João inicia o prólogo como inicia o primeiro livro da Bíblia. Nos dois livros encontramos a Palavra criadora e geradora de vida. Segundo o autor, Jesus é a palavra geradora de vida. Tornando-se carne, a Palavra de Deus tornou-se visível e luz da humanidade. Com sua chegada, Jesus inicia nova humanidade. Deus tornou-se um de nós, sujeito à fragilidade, à dor e à derrota. O Filho tornou visível o Deus invisível. Deus não mais está mudo e escondido, mas revelou-se à humanidade, encarnando-se nela. Ele não se comunicou apenas com palavras e teorias, compreensíveis apenas aos sábios e entendidos. Sua palavra encarnou-se no Filho para que todos, até os mais simples, possam compreendê-lo ao nos revelar o rosto humano do Pai que é amor, misericórdia e perdão. Para conhecer a Deus, basta olhar para Jesus, para sua vida, para suas opções.

Reflecting the Gospel 

To understand the incarnation of God in the womb of Mary, John begins his gospel with the prologue, in which we find as a synthesis of the themes developed throughout the gospel. John begins the prologue as the first book of the Bible begins. In both books we find the creative and life-creating Word. According to the author, Jesus is the word that generates life. By becoming flesh, the Word of God became visible and light of humanity. With his arrival, Jesus initiates new humanity. God became one of us, subject to frailty, pain and defeat. The Son made visible the invisible God. God is no longer mute and hidden, but revealed to mankind by becoming incarnate in it. He was not only communicated with words and theories, understandable only to the wise and understanding. His word became incarnate in the Son so that all, even the most simple, can understand it by revealing the human face of the Father who is love, mercy and forgiveness. To know God, just look at Jesus, your life, your choices.
