If anyone wants to be first, be the last - Mk 9, 30-37
 

Texto Bíblico

Naquele tempo, 30 Jesus e seus discípulos atravessavam a Galileia. Ele não queria que ninguém soubesse disso, 31 pois estava ensinando a seus discípulos. E dizia-lhes: “O Filho do Homem vai ser entregue nas mãos dos homens, e eles o matarão, mas, três dias após sua morte, ele ressuscitará”. 32 Os discípulos, porém, não compreendiam estas palavras e tinham medo de perguntar. 33 Eles chegaram a Cafarnaum. Estando em casa, Jesus perguntou-lhes: “Que discutíeis pelo caminho?” 34 Eles, porém, ficaram calados, pois pelo caminho tinham discutido quem era o maior. 35 Jesus sentou-se, chamou os doze e lhes disse: “Se alguém quiser ser o primeiro, que seja o último de todos e aquele que serve a todos!” 36 Em seguida, pegou uma criança, colocou-a no meio deles, e abraçando-a disse: 37 “Quem acolher em meu nome uma dessas crianças, é a mim que estará acolhendo. E quem me acolher, está acolhendo, não a mim, mas aquele que me enviou”.

Biblical Text 
At that time, Jesus and his disciples crossed 30 Galilee. He didn't want anyone to know it, 31 because it was teaching his disciples. And he told them, "the son of man will be delivered into the hands of men, and they will kill him, but, three days after your death, he will rise again." 32 the disciples did not understand these words and were afraid to ask. 33 they came to Capernaum. Being at home, Jesus asked them: "What discutíeis." 34 They, however, were silent, because the way they had discussed who was the greatest. 35 Jesus sat, called the twelve and said to them: "If anyone wants to be first, be the last of all and the one that serves us all!" 36 then took a child, placed it in the middle of them, and embracing it said: "who host 37 on behalf of these children, it is me who will be welcoming. And whom I welcome, is welcoming, not me, but him who sent me ".

Refletindo

É tão bom ver uma pessoa que é capaz, mas sabe ser humilde naquilo que é capaz, sabe muita coisa, mas não prevalece aquilo que sabe. É bom ver pessoas que tem dom, talentos, títulos, são importantes, mas não se fazem importantes, isso é caminhar na lógica do Reino de Deus. O Senhor olha para aqueles que buscam não serem os primeiros. Não é para deixar de ser o primeiro em uma corrida e ser o último para ser mais humilde. Ao contrário! É correr para dar o seu melhor, chegar na frente, mas não sou melhor do que aquele que chegou em último lugar. Jesus pega uma criança, porque, em Sua época, a criança era sem importância, sem valor, não era levada em conta, por isso Ele a abraça; assim também com cada um de nós quando vivemos na humildade, quando fazemos dela um escudo da nossa vida, quando não prevalecemos por aquilo que temos, que somos ou fazemos, mas sim, quando nos escondemos em Deus e n’Ele colocamos tudo aquilo que fazemos.

It's so nice to see a person who is capable, but knows how to be humble in what is capable, knows a lot, but I don't know what prevails. It's nice to see people who have Sun, talents, titles, are important, but not important, it is walking in the Kingdom of God. The Lord looketh not for those seeking to be the first. It is not to be the first in a race and be the last to be more humble. Unlike! Is run to give your best, get in front, but I'm not better than the one that came in last place. Jesus picks up a child because, at the time, the child was unimportant, worthless, was not taken into account, so he embraces; so too with each one of us when we live in humility, when we make her a shield of our life, when we had prevailed not for what we have, what we are or do, but when we hide in God and in him we put everything that we do.

Jesus que não prevaleça em mim, aquilo que tenho, que sou ou faço, mas sim, quando acredito  em Deus e n’Ele coloco tudo que creio.
