Felizes os humildes de espírito, porque deles é o reino dos céus (Mt 5,3). – Proclamação do evangelho de Jesus Cristo segundo Marcos 12,38-44 – Naquele tempo, 38Jesus dizia, no seu ensinamento, à multidão: “Tomai cuidado com os doutores da lei! Eles gostam de andar com roupas vistosas, de ser cumprimentados nas praças públicas; 39gostam das primeiras cadeiras nas sinagogas e dos melhores lugares nos banquetes. 40Eles devoram as casas das viúvas, fingindo fazer longas orações. Por isso eles receberão a pior condenação”. 41Jesus estava sentado no templo, diante do cofre das esmolas, e observava como a multidão depositava suas moedas no cofre. Muitos ricos depositavam grandes quantias. 42Então chegou uma pobre viúva que deu duas pequenas moedas, que não valiam quase nada. 43Jesus chamou os discípulos e disse: “Em verdade vos digo, esta pobre viúva deu mais do que todos os outros que ofereceram esmolas. 44Todos deram do que tinham de sobra, enquanto ela, na sua pobreza, ofereceu tudo aquilo que possuía para viver”. – Palavra da salvação.

Happy are the lowly in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven (Mt 5,3). - Proclamation of the gospel of Jesus Christ according to Mark 12,38-44 - At that time, 38Jesus said, in his teaching, to the crowd: “Be careful with the doctors of the law! They like to walk in showy clothes, to be greeted in public squares; They like the first chairs in the synagogues and the best places at banquets. 40They devour widows' houses, pretending to say long prayers. That is why they will receive the worst condemnation ”. 41Jesus sat in the temple, in front of the alms vault, and watched as the crowd deposited their coins in the vault. Many rich people deposited large sums. 42Then a poor widow came and gave her two small coins, which were worth almost nothing. 43Jesus called the disciples and said: “Truly I say to you, this poor widow gave more than all the others who offered alms. 44Everyone gave what they had left, while she, in her poverty, offered everything she had to live ”. - Word of salvation.

Reflexão
Mesmo vivendo na indigência, uma viúva deposita no cofre do Templo “tudo o que tinha para viver”. O Senhor elogia o gesto generoso e nobre da pobrezinha, enquanto censura o comportamento dos que depositavam grandes quantias . O que agrada a Deus, que tudo sabe e vê, é um coração sensível, capaz de partilhar.
Reflection
Even living in destitution, a widow deposits in the Temple vault “everything she had to live”. The Lord praises the poor and generous gesture of the poor girl, while censoring the behavior of those who deposited large sums. What pleases God, who knows and sees everything, is a sensitive heart, capable of sharing.
