Beatitudes.

1a.Leitura - 2 Coríntios 1,1-7

Início da segunda carta de são Paulo aos Coríntios – ¹ Paulo, apóstolo de Jesus Cristo por vontade de Deus, e o irmão Timóteo à Igreja de Deus que está em Corinto e a todos os santos que se encontram em toda a Acaia: ² para vós, graça e paz da parte de Deus, nosso Pai, e do Senhor Jesus Cristo. ³ Bendito seja o Deus e Pai de nosso Senhor Jesus Cristo, o Pai das misericórdias e Deus de toda consolação. ⁴ Ele nos consola em todas as nossas aflições, para que, com a consolação que nós mesmos recebemos de Deus, possamos consolar os que se acham em toda e qualquer aflição. ⁵ Pois, à medida que os sofrimentos de Cristo crescem para nós, cresce também a nossa consolação por Cristo. ⁶ Se estamos em aflições, é para a vossa consolação e salvação; se somos consolados, é para a vossa consolação. E essa consolação sustenta a vossa paciência em meio aos mesmos sofrimentos que nós também padecemos. ⁷ E a nossa esperança a vosso respeito é firme, pois sabemos que, assim como participais dos nossos sofrimentos, participais também da nossa consolação. – Palavra do Senhor.

1st Reading - 2 Coríntios 1,1-7

The second letter of St. Paul to the Corinthians-1 Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, and Timothy the brother Church of God that is in Corinth, to all the Saints who are in all Achaia: 2 grace to you and peace from God our father and the Lord Jesus Christ. 3 blessed be the God and father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the father of mercies and God of all consolation. 4 He console us in all our affliction, so that, with the comfort we ourselves have received from God, we can comfort those who are in any affliction. 5 Because, as the sufferings of Christ grow for us, grows our consolation also for Christ. 6 If we at afflictions, is for your consolation and salvation; If we are comforted, it is for your consolation. And this consolation sustains your patience in the midst of the same sufferings which we also conjecture. 7 and our hope about you is firm, because we know that, as well as our sufferings, rejoice rejoice also our consolation. -The word of the Lord.

Evangelho - Mateus 5,1-12
Proclamação do evangelho de Jesus Cristo segundo Mateus – Naquele tempo, ¹ vendo Jesus as multidões, subiu ao monte e sentou-se. Os discípulos aproximaram-se, ² e Jesus começou a ensiná-los: ³ “Bem-aventurados os pobres em espírito, porque deles é o reino dos céus. ⁴ Bem-aventurados os aflitos, porque serão consolados. ⁵ Bem-aventurados os mansos, porque possuirão a terra. ⁶ Bem-aventurados os que têm fome e sede de justiça, porque serão saciados. ⁷ Bem-aventurados os misericordiosos, porque alcançarão misericórdia. ⁸ Bem-aventurados os puros de coração, porque verão a Deus. ⁹ Bem-aventurados os que promovem a paz, porque serão chamados filhos de Deus. ¹⁰ Bem-aventurados os que são perseguidos por causa da justiça, porque deles é o reino dos céus. ¹¹ Bem-aventurados sois vós quando vos injuriarem e perseguirem e, mentindo, disserem todo tipo de mal contra vós por causa de mim. ¹² Alegrai-vos e exultai, porque será grande a vossa recompensa nos céus. Do mesmo modo perseguiram os profetas que vieram antes de vós”.

Gospel - Mateus 5,1-12

Proclamation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Matthew – at that time, 1 see Jesus the crowds, ascended the mount and sat. The disciples approached, 2 and Jesus began to teach them: 3 "blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the Kingdom of heaven. 4 blessed are those afflicted, for they shall be comforted. 5 blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the Earth. 6 blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness, for they shall be filled. 7 blessed are the merciful shall obtain mercy. 8 blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God. 9 blessed are those that promote peace, for they shall be called sons of God. 10 blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness ' sake, for theirs is the Kingdom of heaven. 11 blessed are you when they revile and persecute, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for my sake. 12 rejoice and Exult, because your reward is great in heaven. Likewise persecuted the prophets who came before you".

Refletindo o Evangelho  
As bem-aventuranças estão inseridas no Sermão da Montanha, resumo do ensinamento de Jesus a respeito do Reino e da transformação que esse Reino produz. Aos discípulos Jesus promete a felicidade, não apenas no céu, mas também a que se pode experimentar ao longo desta vida. Jesus une a felicidade a seu seguimento a uma série de valores sobre os quais se assenta o Reino de Deus: pobreza, humildade, justiça, misericórdia, pureza de coração, sofrimento por causa da justiça. As bem-aventuranças questionam os nossos critérios habituais e os critérios de uma sociedade que caminha exatamente na direção contrária e que se funda em pseudovalores: ganância, exploração e várias outras formas de injustiça. Em outro discurso, Jesus recomenda: ^“Busquem primeiro o Reino de Deus e sua justiça” (Mt 6,33).

Reflecting the Gospel

The Beatitudes are inserted in the sermon on the mount, summary of the teaching of Jesus concerning the Kingdom and the transformation that this Kingdom produces. His disciples Jesus promises happiness, not only in heaven, but also that you can experience along this life. Jesus unites the happiness to your follow-up to a series of values upon which rests the Kingdom of God: poverty, humility, justice, mercy, purity of heart, suffering for righteousness ' sake. The Beatitudes are questioning our usual criteria and criteria of a society that goes exactly in the opposite direction and that is founded in pseudovalores: greed, exploitation and various other forms of injustice. In another speech, Jesus recommends: "seek first the Kingdom of God, and your righteousness" (Mt 6.33).
