Senhor, salva-nos, pois estamos perecendo!

Lord, save us, for we are perishing!

Proclamação do Evangelho de Jesus Cristo segundo Mateus 8,23-27 – Naquele tempo, 23Jesus entrou na barca e seus discípulos o acompanharam. 24E eis que houve uma grande tempestade no mar, de modo que a barca estava sendo coberta pelas ondas. Jesus, porém, dormia. 25Os discípulos aproximaram-se e o acordaram, dizendo: “Senhor, salva-nos, pois estamos perecendo!” 26Jesus respondeu: “Por que tendes tanto medo, homens fracos na fé?” Então, levantando-se, ameaçou os ventos e o mar, e fez-se uma grande calmaria. 27Os homens ficaram admirados e diziam: “Quem é este homem, que até os ventos e o mar lhe obedecem?” – Palavra da salvação.

Proclamation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Matthew 8,23-27 – At that time, 23Jesus entered the boat and his disciples accompanied him. 24And behold, there was a great storm on the sea, so that the boat was being covered by the waves. Jesus, however, slept. 25The disciples came and woke him up, saying, "Lord, save us, for we are perishing!" 26Jesus answered, "Why are you so afraid, men who are weak in faith?" Then, rising, he threatened the winds and the sea, and there was a great lull. 27The men were astonished and said, "Who is this man, that even the winds and the sea obey him?" – Word of salvation.

JJesus, a quem até os ventos e o mar obedecem, sentimos que a nossa missão de cristãos não está isenta de obstáculos, incompreensões e desconforto. Infunde em nós, Senhor, fortaleza, coragem e esperança, para prosseguirmos, sem hesitar, a serviço do Reino de Deus. Amém.

Jesus, whom even the winds and the sea obey, we feel that our mission as Christians is not without obstacles, misunderstandings and discomfort. Instill in us, Lord, strength, courage and hope, to continue, without hesitation, in the service of the Kingdom of God. Amen.
