Proclamação do Evangelho de Jesus Cristo segundo Marcos 2,35-37 – Naquele tempo, 35Jesus ensinava no templo, dizendo: “Como é que os mestres da Lei dizem que o Messias é filho de Davi? 36O próprio Davi, movido pelo Espírito Santo, falou: ‘Disse o Senhor ao meu Senhor: senta-te à minha direita, até que eu ponha teus inimigos debaixo dos teus pés’. 37Portanto, o próprio Davi chama o Messias de Senhor. Como é que ele pode então ser seu filho?” E uma grande multidão o escutava com prazer. – Palavra da salvação.

Proclamation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Mark 2,35-37 – At that time, 35Jesus taught in the temple, saying: “How is it that the teachers of the Law say that the Messiah is the son of David? 36And David himself, moved by the Holy Spirit, said, 'The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, until I put thine enemies under thy feet.' 37Therefore, David himself calls the Messiah Lord. How can he be his son then?” And a large crowd listened with pleasure. – Word of salvation.

Jesus Mestre, o povo esperava um Messias descendente e sucessor de Davi, poderoso guerreiro que, por meio da força, viria restaurar a glória de Israel. No entanto, és o Messias que caminha para a cruz. És, de fato, filho de Davi, mas és também o Senhor dele. És o Filho de Deus. Amém.

To Pray

Jesus Master, the people expected a Messiah descendant and successor of David, a mighty warrior who, through strength, would come to restore the glory of Israel. However, you are the Messiah who walks to the cross. You are indeed David's son, but you are also his Lord. You are the Son of God. Amen.
