A festa da “Visitação” retrata o episódio em que Maria, já grávida, visita Isabel, gestante há seis meses. Enquanto traz no seio o seu filhinho, Maria torna-se verdadeira habitação de Deus e como tal é reverenciada pela prima: “Você é bendita entre as mulheres, e bendito é o fruto do seu ventre!” Então Maria proclama um dos mais belos hinos do Novo Testamento. Doravante não será mais com pedras que se edificará a morada de Deus, mas com a fé, o amor e a esperança. A festa da Visitação de Nossa Senhora, celebrada pelos Franciscanos no final do século XIII, foi introduzida no calendário universal pelo papa Urbano VI, em 1389.

The Festival of "Visitation" depicts the episode in which Maria, already pregnant, visits Isabel, a pregnant woman for six months. While he brings his little boy into his bosom, Mary becomes a true dwelling of God and as such is revered by the cousin: "You are blessed among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb!" Then Mary proclaims one of the most beautiful hymns of the New Testament. Henceforth it will no longer be with stones that the abode of God shall be built, but with faith, love and hope. The feast of the Visitation of Our Lady, celebrated by the Franciscans at the end of the 13TH century, was introduced in the universal calendar by Pope Urban VI in 1389.

Alegra-te e exulta de todo o coração, cidade de Jerusalém! 15O Senhor revogou a sentença contra ti, afastou teus inimigos; o rei de Israel é o Senhor, ele está no meio de ti, nunca mais temerás o mal. 16Naquele dia se dirá a Jerusalém: “Não temas, Sião, não te deixes levar pelo desânimo! 17O Senhor, teu Deus, está no meio de ti, o valente guerreiro que te salva; ele exultará de alegria por ti, movido por amor; exultará por ti, entre louvores, 18como nos dias de festa. Afastarei de ti a desgraça, para que nunca mais te cause humilhação”. – Palavra do Senhor.

Reading of the prophecy of Zeonias 3,14-18 – 14 Sings of Joy, City of Zion; Rejoice, people of Israel! Rejoice and exult with all your heart, City of Jerusalem! 15The Lord Has revoked the sentence against thee, he has driven away thy enemies; The King of Israel is the Lord, he is in the midst of thee, thou shalt never fear evil. 16On That Day will he say to Jerusalem: "Fear not, Zion, do not be carried away by discouragement! 17The Lord, thy God, is among thee, the Valiant warrior who saves thee; He will exult with joy for thee, moved by love; Will exult for you, among praises, 18 like on the feast days. És feliz porque creste, Maria, pois em ti a palavra de Deus vai cumprir-se, conforme ele disse (Lc 1,45). – Proclamação do evangelho de Jesus Cristo segundo Lucas 1,39-56 – 39Naqueles dias, Maria partiu para a região montanhosa, dirigindo-se, apressadamente, a uma cidade da Judeia. 40Entrou na casa de Zacarias e cumprimentou Isabel. 41Quando Isabel ouviu a saudação de Maria, a criança pulou no seu ventre e Isabel ficou cheia do Espírito Santo. 42Com um grande grito, exclamou: “Bendita és tu entre as mulheres e bendito é o fruto do teu ventre! 43Como posso merecer que a mãe do meu Senhor me venha visitar? 44Logo que a tua saudação chegou aos meus ouvidos, a criança pulou de alegria no meu ventre. 45Bem-aventurada aquela que acreditou, porque será cumprido o que o Senhor lhe prometeu”. 46Maria disse: “A minha alma engrandece o Senhor, 47e o meu espírito se alegra em Deus, meu salvador, 48porque olhou para a humildade de sua serva. Doravante todas as gerações me chamarão bem-aventurada, 49porque o Todo-Poderoso fez grandes coisas em meu favor. O seu nome é santo 50e sua misericórdia se estende, de geração em geração, a todos os que o temem. 51Ele mostrou a força de seu braço: dispersou os soberbos de coração. 52Derrubou do trono os poderosos e elevou os humildes. 53Encheu de bens os famintos e despediu os ricos de mãos vazias. 54Socorreu Israel, seu servo, lembrando-se de sua misericórdia, 55conforme prometera aos nossos pais, em favor de Abraão e de sua descendência para sempre”. 56Maria ficou três meses com Isabel; depois voltou para casa. – Palavra da salvação.
