Eu vim ao mundo como luz.

I came to the world as light..

Crer em Jesus é crer no Pai. A palavra de Jesus é palavra do Pai. Quem rejeita Jesus e não aceita a sua palavra será julgado exatamente pela Palavra de Deus. Devemos ouvir a palavra, se dispondo a mudar de vida e seguir como fiel praticante da palavra em nosso dia a dia, mesmo que ela seja exigente e difícil. Enfim, a palavra de Jesus é luz que arranca o mal dos corações e da sociedade.

Believing in Jesus is believing in the father. The word of Jesus is the word of the father. Whoever rejects Jesus and does not accept his word will be judged exactly by the Word of God. We must hear the word, being willing to change life and follow as a faithful practitioner of the word in our daily lives, even if it is demanding and difficult. At last, the word of Jesus is light that plucks evil from Hearts and society.

Leitura dos Atos dos Apóstolos 12,24-13,5 – Naqueles dias, 24a palavra do Senhor crescia e se espalhava cada vez mais. 25Barnabé e Saulo, tendo concluído seu ministério, voltaram de Jerusalém, trazendo consigo João, chamado Marcos. 13,1Na Igreja de Antioquia havia profetas e doutores. Eram eles: Barnabé, Simeão, chamado o Negro, Lúcio de Cirene, Manaém, que fora criado junto com Herodes, e Saulo. 2Um dia, enquanto celebravam a liturgia em honra do Senhor e jejuavam, o Espírito Santo disse: “Separai para mim Barnabé e Saulo, a fim de fazerem o trabalho para o qual eu os chamei”. 3Então eles jejuaram e rezaram, impuseram as mãos sobre Barnabé e Saulo e deixaram-nos partir. 4Enviados pelo Espírito Santo, Barnabé e Saulo desceram a Selêucia e daí navegaram para Chipre. 5Quando chegaram a Salamina, começaram a anunciar a palavra de Deus nas sinagogas dos judeus. Eles tinham João como ajudante. – Palavra do Senhor.

Reading of the Acts of the Apostles 12,24-13.5 – in those days, 24the word of the Lord grew and spread more and more. 25Barnabas and Saul, having completed his ministry, returned from Jerusalem, bringing with him John, named Marcos. 13, 1In The Church of Antioch There were prophets and doctors. They were: Barnabas, Simeon, called the Negro, Lucius of Cyrene, Manaém, who had been created together with Herod, and Saul. 2One Day, while they celebrated the liturgy in the Lord's honor and faked, the Holy Spirit said, "Let Barnabas and Saul be separated, in order to do the work for which I have called them." 3Then they faimed and prayed, laid their hands upon Barnabas and Saul, and let us depart. 4Sent by the Holy Spirit, Barnabas and Saul descended from Seleucia and then sailed to Cyprus. 5When They came to Salamina, they began to announce the Word of God in the synagogues of the Jews. Eu sou a luz do mundo; / aquele que me segue / não caminha entre as trevas, / mas terá a luz da vida (Jo 8,12). – Proclamação do evangelho de Jesus Cristo segundo João 12,44-50 – Naquele tempo, 44Jesus exclamou em alta voz: “Quem crê em mim não é em mim que crê, mas naquele que me enviou. 45Quem me vê, vê aquele que me enviou. 46Eu vim ao mundo como luz, para que todo aquele que crê em mim não permaneça nas trevas. 47Se alguém ouvir as minhas palavras e não as observar, eu não o julgo, porque eu não vim para julgar o mundo, mas para salvá-lo. 48Quem me rejeita e não aceita as minhas palavras já tem o seu juiz: a palavra que eu falei o julgará no último dia. 49Porque eu não falei por mim mesmo, mas o Pai, que me enviou, ele é quem me ordenou o que eu devia dizer e falar. 50E eu sei que o seu mandamento é vida eterna. Portanto, o que eu digo, eu o digo conforme o Pai me falou”. – Palavra da salvação.

Gospel

I am the light of the world; /He who follows me/does not walk among the darkness,/but will have the light of life (Jn 8,12). – Proclamation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ according to John 12,44-50 – at that time, 44Jesus excried aloud: "Whoever believes in me is not in me who believes, but in the one who sent me. 45Whoever sees me, sees the one who sent me. 46I came to the world as light, that whosoever believeth in me shall not remain in darkness. 47If anyone hears my words and does not observe them, I do not judge him, because I Have not come to judge the world, but to save him. 48Who rejects me and does not accept my words already has his judge: the word I spoke will judge him on the last day. 49Because I did not speak for myself, but the father, who sent me, he is the one who commanded me what I should say and speak. 50And I know that your commandment is eternal life. Salmo 66/67

Que as nações vos glorifiquem, ó Senhor, / que todas as nações vos glorifiquem. 
– Que Deus nos dê a sua graça e sua bênção, / e sua face resplandeça sobre nós! / Que na terra se conheça o seu caminho / e a sua salvação por entre os povos. 
– Exulte de alegria a terra inteira, / pois julgais o universo com justiça; / os povos governais com retidão / e guiais, em toda a terra, as nações. 
– Que as nações vos glorifiquem, ó Senhor, / que todas as nações vos glorifiquem! / Que o Senhor e nosso Deus nos abençoe, / e o respeitem os confins de toda a terra!

Psalm 66/67

That the nations glorify you, O Lord, that all nations glorify you. 
– God give us His grace and his blessing,/and his face shine upon us! /That on Earth one knows its path/and its salvation among the peoples. 
– Rejoice in the whole Earth, for you judge the universe with righteousness; /The ruling peoples with righteousness/and Guiais, in all the land, the nations.
