A obra de Deus é que acrediteis naquele que Ele enviou.

Reflexão

A multidão continuava em busca de Jesus, depois que ele saciou a fome dos  5000 homens. Finalmente o encontram. Então Jesus os faz refletir: Por que realmente estão indo atrás dele? Só por benefícios materiais? Todo o esforço de Jesus consiste em fazer as pessoas descobrirem o verdadeiro sentido espiritual dos sinais que ele realiza. Ele não é um milagreiro, mas é o Filho de Deus que entrega a si mesmo para saciar a humanidade que procura mais vida. Quando as pessoas perguntam a Jesus quais são as obras que agradam a Deus, certamente estão pensando nos inúmeros preceitos e tradições que os doutores da Lei e os fariseus impunham sobre o povo. O mais importante é acolher a pessoa de Jesus com seu ensinamento. A única obra é acreditar naquele que o Pai enviou.

Reflection 

The multitude continued to search for Jesus, after he satiated the hunger of the 5000 men. They finally find him. So Jesus makes them reflect: why are they really going after him? Just for material benefits? Jesus ' Every effort is to make people discover the true spiritual meaning of the signs that he realizes. He is not a miracle worker, but he is the son of God who gives himself to quench mankind who seeks more life. When people ask Jesus what works are pleasing to God, they are certainly thinking of the countless precepts and traditions that the doctors of the law and the Pharisees have imposed on the people. The most important thing is to welcome the person of Jesus with his teaching. The only work is to believe in the one that the father sent.

Leitura dos Atos dos Apóstolos 6,8-15 – Naqueles dias, 8Estêvão, cheio de graça e poder, fazia prodígios e grandes sinais entre o povo. 9Mas alguns membros da chamada Sinagoga dos Libertos, junto com cirenenses e alexandrinos e alguns da Cilícia e da Ásia, começaram a discutir com Estêvão. 10Porém não conseguiam resistir à sabedoria e ao Espírito com que ele falava. 11Então subornaram alguns indivíduos, que disseram: “Ouvimos este homem dizendo blasfêmias contra Moisés e contra Deus”. 12Desse modo, incitaram o povo, os anciãos e os doutores da lei, que prenderam Estêvão e o conduziram ao sinédrio. 13Aí apresentaram falsas testemunhas, que diziam: “Este homem não cessa de falar contra este lugar santo e contra a lei. 14E nós o ouvimos afirmar que Jesus nazareno ia destruir este lugar e ia mudar os costumes que Moisés nos transmitiu”. 15Todos os que estavam sentados no sinédrio tinham os olhos fixos sobre Estêvão e viram seu rosto como o rosto de um anjo. – Palavra do Senhor.

Reading of the Acts of the Apostles 6,8-15 – in those days, 8Estêvão, full of grace and power, made wonders and great signs among the people. 9but Some members of the so-called Synagogue of Libertos, together with Cyrenians and Alexandrian and some from Cilicia and Asia, began to argue with Stephen. 10 But They could not resist the wisdom and the spirit with which he spoke. 11Then They bribing some individuals, who said: "We hear this man saying blasphemies against Moses and against God." 12Thus, they incited the people, the elders and the Doctors of the law, who arrested Stephen and led him to the Sanhedrin. 13There they presented false witnesses, who said: "This man does not cease to speak against this holy place and against the law. 14And we heard him say that Jesus Nazarene was going to destroy this place and would change the customs that Moses conveyed to us. Proclamação do evangelho de Jesus Cristo segundo João 6,22-29 – Depois que Jesus saciara os cinco mil homens, seus discípulos o viram andando sobre o mar. 22No dia seguinte, a multidão que tinha ficado do outro lado do mar constatou que havia só uma barca e que Jesus não tinha subido para ela com os discípulos, mas que eles tinham partido sozinhos. 23Entretanto, tinham chegado outras barcas de Tiberíades, perto do lugar onde tinham comido o pão depois de o Senhor ter dado graças. 24Quando a multidão viu que Jesus não estava ali nem os seus discípulos, subiram às barcas e foram à procura de Jesus em Cafarnaum. 25Quando o encontraram no outro lado do mar, perguntaram-lhe: “Rabi, quando chegaste aqui?” 26Jesus respondeu: “Em verdade, em verdade eu vos digo, estais me procurando não porque vistes sinais, mas porque comestes pão e ficastes satisfeitos. 27Esforçai-vos não pelo alimento que se perde, mas pelo alimento que permanece até a vida eterna e que o Filho do homem vos dará. Pois este é quem o Pai marcou com seu selo”. 28Então perguntaram: “Que devemos fazer para realizar as obras de Deus?” 29Jesus respondeu: “A obra de Deus é que acrediteis naquele que Ele enviou”. – Palavra da salvação.

Proclamation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ according to John 6,22-29 – after Jesus had satied the 5000 men, his disciples saw him walking over the sea. 22 The next day, the multitude that had lain on the other side of the sea found that there was only one barge and that Jesus had not risen to her with the disciples, but that they had departed alone. 23However, there had been other ferries from Tiberias, near the place where they had eaten bread after the Lord had given thanks. 24 When The multitude saw that Jesus was neither there nor his disciples, they ascended to the ferries and went looking for Jesus in Capernaum. 25When They found him on the other side of the sea, they asked him, "Rabbi, when did you get here?" 26Jesus replied, "Verily, verily I say unto you, Thou art seeking me not because ye have seen signs, but because you have eaten bread and have been satisfied. 27Strive not for the food that is lost, but for the nourishment that remains until eternal life and that the son of man will give you. For this is who the father marked with his seal.
