Procession of Branches and Passion of the Lord.

Reflexão

O domingo de Ramos abre a grande semana do povo cristão: a Semana Santa por excelência, quando reviveremos os últimos acontecimentos da vida de Jesus. Seguido pelos discípulos, Jesus caminha decidido rumo a Jerusalém, onde é aclamado: “Bendito o que vem em nome do Senhor”. Ele é o rei montado num jumentinho, símbolo de paz e de humildade. Ele não tem uma corte nem está rodeado de um exército como símbolo de força. Sua entrada em Jerusalém não tem nada a ver com a pompa e o aparato dos reis, quando estes chegam triunfantes a uma cidade após uma vitória. O povo humilde e simples o acolhe com alegria e estende seus mantos pelo caminho. Alguns incomodados tentam silenciar a multidão, mas o Mestre os alerta: se ela se calar, as pedras (a natureza) gritarão, pois a própria natureza não suporta violação e saberá reconhecer a libertação que vem pelo rei humilde. O plano de Deus não pode ser obstruído, precisa ser revelado, mesmo que as pedras precisem ser convocadas para isso. Entremos confiantes na Semana Santa e busquemos acompanhar e vivenciar os momentos decisivos da vida de Jesus.

Reflection 

The Sunday of Ramos opens the great week of the Christian people: Holy Week par excellence, when we will relive the last events of the life of Jesus. Followed by the disciples, Jesus walks to Jerusalem, where he is acclaimed: "Blessed is the Lord's name." He is the King mounted on a colt, a symbol of peace and humility. He doesn't have a court, nor is he surrounded by an army as a symbol of strength. His entry into Jerusalem has nothing to do with the pomp and the apparatus of kings, when they arrive triumphant in a city after a victory. The humble and simple people welcomes him with joy and extends his robes along the way. Some troubled try to silence the crowd, but the Master warns them: if she shuts up, the Stones (nature) will scream, for nature itself does not support rape and knows the liberation that comes by the humble king. God'S plan cannot be obstructed, it must be revealed, even if the stones need to be summoned for this. Let Us confide in the Holy Week and seek to accompany and experience the decisive moments of Jesus ' life.

Leitura do livro do profeta Isaías 50,4-7 – 4O Senhor Deus deu-me língua adestrada, para que eu saiba dizer palavras de conforto à pessoa abatida; ele me desperta cada manhã e me excita o ouvido, para prestar atenção como um discípulo. 5O Senhor abriu-me os ouvidos; não lhe resisti nem voltei atrás. 6Ofereci as costas para me baterem e as faces para me arrancarem a barba; não desviei o rosto de bofetões e cusparadas. 7Mas o Senhor Deus é meu auxiliador, por isso não me deixei abater o ânimo, conservei o rosto impassível como pedra, porque sei que não sairei humilhado. – Palavra do Senhor.

Reading of the Book of the Prophet Isaiah 50,4-7 – 4Th Lord God gave me tongue, so that I can say words of comfort to the person slaughtered; He awakens me every morning and excites my ear, to pay attention as a disciple. 5Th Lord opened my ears; I couldn't resist him or go back. 6I Offered the back to beat me and the faces to scrape my beard; I did not dodge the face of bofetons and spit. 7But the Lord God is my helper, so I did not let myself be discouraged, I fixed my face impassive as stone, because I know that I shall not be humiliated. – Word of the Lord.

Glória e louvor a vós, ó Cristo. Jesus Cristo se tornou obediente, / obediente até a morte numa cruz; / pelo que o Senhor Deus o exaltou / e deu-lhe um nome muito acima de outro nome (Fl 2,8s). – R.
N (Narrador): Paixão de nosso Senhor Jesus Cristo segundo Lucas 23,1-49 – Naquele tempo, 1toda a multidão se levantou e levou Jesus a Pilatos. 2Começaram então a acusá-lo, dizendo:
G (Grupo ou assembleia): Achamos este homem fazendo subversão entre o nosso povo, proibindo pagar impostos a César e afirmando ser ele mesmo Cristo, o rei.
N: 3Pilatos o interrogou:
L (Leitor): Tu és o rei dos judeus?
N: Jesus respondeu, declarando:
P (Presidente): Tu o dizes!
N: 4Então Pilatos disse aos sumos sacerdotes e à multidão:
L: Não encontro neste homem nenhum crime.
N: 5Eles, porém, insistiam:
G: Ele agita o povo, ensinando por toda a Judeia, desde a Galileia, onde começou, até aqui.
N: 6Quando ouviu isso, Pilatos perguntou:
L: Este homem é galileu?
N: 7Ao saber que Jesus estava sob a autoridade de Herodes, Pilatos enviou-o a este, pois também Herodes estava em Jerusalém naqueles dias. 8Herodes ficou muito contente ao ver Jesus, pois havia muito tempo desejava vê-lo. Já ouvira falar a seu respeito e esperava vê-lo fazer algum milagre. 9Ele interrogou-o com muitas perguntas. Jesus, porém, nada lhe respondeu. 10Os sumos sacerdotes e os mestres da lei estavam presentes e o acusavam com insistência. 11Herodes, com seus soldados, tratou Jesus com desprezo, zombou dele, vestiu-o com uma roupa vistosa e mandou-o de volta a Pilatos. 12Naquele dia Herodes e Pilatos ficaram amigos um do outro, pois antes eram inimigos. 13Então Pilatos convocou os sumos sacerdotes, os chefes e o povo e lhes disse:
L: 14Vós me trouxestes este homem como se fosse um agitador do povo. Pois bem! Já o interroguei diante de vós e não encontrei nele nenhum dos crimes de que o acusais; 15nem Herodes, pois o mandou de volta para nós. Como podeis ver, ele nada fez para merecer a morte. 16Portanto, vou castigá-lo e o soltarei.
N: [17]18Toda a multidão começou a gritar:
G: Fora com ele! Solta-nos Barrabás!
N: 19Barrabás tinha sido preso por causa de uma revolta na cidade e por homicídio. 20Pilatos falou outra vez à multidão, pois queria libertar Jesus. 21Mas eles gritavam:
G: Crucifica-o! Crucifica-o!
N: 22E Pilatos falou pela terceira vez:
L: Que mal fez este homem? Não encontrei nele nenhum crime que mereça a morte. Portanto, vou castigá-lo e o soltarei.
N: 23Eles, porém, continuaram a gritar com toda a força, pedindo que fosse crucificado. E a gritaria deles aumentava sempre mais. 24Então Pilatos decidiu que fosse feito o que eles pediam. 25Soltou o homem que eles queriam – aquele que fora preso por revolta e homicídio – e entregou Jesus à vontade deles. 26Enquanto levavam Jesus, pegaram um certo Simão, de Cirene, que voltava do campo, e impuseram-lhe a cruz para carregá-la atrás de Jesus. 27Seguia-o uma grande multidão do povo e de mulheres que batiam no peito e choravam por ele. 28Jesus, porém, voltou-se e disse:
P: Filhas de Jerusalém, não choreis por mim! Chorai por vós mesmas e por vossos filhos! 29Porque dias virão em que se dirá: “Felizes as mulheres que nunca tiveram filhos, os ventres que nunca deram à luz e os seios que nunca amamentaram”. 30Então começarão a pedir às montanhas: “Caí sobre nós!” e às colinas: “Escondei-nos!” 31Porque, se fazem assim com a árvore verde, o que não farão com a árvore seca?
N: 32Levavam também outros dois malfeitores para serem mortos junto com Jesus. 33Quando chegaram ao lugar chamado Calvário, ali crucificaram Jesus e os malfeitores: um à sua direita e outro à sua esquerda. 34Jesus dizia:
P: Pai, perdoa-lhes! Eles não sabem o que fazem!
N: Depois fizeram um sorteio, repartindo entre si as roupas de Jesus. 35O povo permanecia lá, olhando. E até os chefes zombavam, dizendo:
G: A outros ele salvou. Salve-se a si mesmo se, de fato, é o Cristo de Deus, o escolhido!
N: 36Os soldados também caçoavam dele; aproximavam-se, ofereciam-lhe vinagre 37e diziam:
G: Se és o rei dos judeus, salva-te a ti mesmo!
N: 38Acima dele havia um letreiro: “Este é o rei dos judeus”. 39Um dos malfeitores crucificados o insultava, dizendo:
L: Tu não és o Cristo? Salva-te a ti mesmo e a nós!
N: 40Mas o outro o repreendeu, dizendo:
L: Nem sequer temes a Deus, tu que sofres a mesma condenação? 41Para nós é justo, porque estamos recebendo o que merecemos; mas ele não fez nada de mal.
N: 42E acrescentou:
L: Jesus, lembra-te de mim quando entrares no teu reinado.
N: 43Jesus lhe respondeu:
P: Em verdade eu te digo, ainda hoje estarás comigo no paraíso.
N: 44Já era mais ou menos meio-dia, e uma escuridão cobriu toda a terra até as três horas da tarde, 45pois o sol parou de brilhar. A cortina do santuário rasgou-se pelo meio, 46e Jesus deu um forte grito:
P: Pai, em tuas mãos entrego o meu espírito.
N: Dizendo isso, expirou.
Todos se ajoelham e faz-se uma pausa.
N: 47O oficial do exército romano viu o que acontecera e glorificou a Deus, dizendo:
L: De fato! Este homem era justo!
N: 48E as multidões, que tinham acorrido para assistir, viram o que havia acontecido e voltaram para casa, batendo no peito. 49Todos os conhecidos de Jesus, bem como as mulheres que o acompanhavam desde a Galileia, ficaram a distância, olhando essas coisas. – Palavra da salvação.

Glory and praise to you, O Christ. Jesus Christ became obedient,/obedient to death on a cross; /for which the Lord God exalted him/and gave him a name far above another name (Phil 2, 8s). R.
N (Narrator): Passion of our Lord Jesus Christ according to Luke 23.1-49 – at That time, 1the whole crowd rose and took Jesus to Pilate. 2They then Began to accuse him, saying:
G (Group or assembly): We Find this man doing subversion among our people, prohibiting paying taxes to Caesar and claiming to be Christ himself, the king.
N: 3Pilate questioned him:
L (Reader): Are You the king of the Jews?
N: Jesus replied, declaring:
P (President): You say it!
N: 4 Then Pilate told the high priests and the multitude:
L: I cannot find in this man any crime.
N: 5They, however, insisted:
G: He Shakes the people, teaching all of Judea, from Galilee, where it began, so far.
N: 6When You heard this, Pilate asked:
L: Is This man Galileo?
N: 7When He knew that Jesus was under Herod's authority, Pilate sent him to this, for also Herod was in Jerusalem in those days. 8Herod was very pleased to see Jesus, for he had long wished to see him. I've heard about you and hoped to see you do some miracle. 9He questioned him with a lot of questions. Jesus, however, answered nothing. 10The High Priests and the Masters of the Law were present and accused him with insistence. 11Herod, with his soldiers, treated Jesus with contempt, sneered at him, clothed him in a dressy outfit and sent him back to Pilate. 12 on That Day Herod and Pilate became friends with each other, for they were once enemies. 13Then Pilate summoned the high priests, the Chiefs and the people, and said unto them,
L: 14You brought me this man as if he were a agitator of the people. All right! I Have questioned him before you, and I have not found in him any of the crimes that you accuse him of; 15nor Herod, for he sent him back to us. As you can see, he did nothing to deserve death. 16Therefore, I will punish him and release him.

N: 19Barabbas had been arrested because of a revolt in the city and for murder. 20Pilate spoke again to the multitude, for he wanted to free Jesus. 21But they shouted:
G: Crucify him! Crucify him!
N: 22E Pilate spoke for the third time:
L: What harm has this man done? I have Not found in him any crime worthy of death. So I'm going to punish him and let him go.
N: 23, however, They continued to scream with all force, asking them to be crucified. And their yelling would always increase more. 24Then Pilate decided to do what they asked. 25He Released The man they wanted – the one who had been imprisoned for rebellion and murder – and delivered Jesus to their will. 26While They took Jesus, they took a certain Simon, from Cyrene, who returned from the camp, and imposed the cross to carry it behind Jesus. 27Followed him a great multitude of the people and women who beat the chest and cried for him. 28 but Jesus turned and said:
P: Daughters of Jerusalem, do not weep for me! N: 48 And The crowds, who had waged to watch, saw what had happened and returned home, beating in the chest. 49All The known of Jesus, as well as the women who accompanied him from Galilee, stood at a distance, looking at these things. – Word of Salvation.

Meu Deus, meu Deus, por que me abandonastes? Riem de mim todos aqueles que me veem, / torcem os lábios e sacodem a cabeça: / “Ao Senhor se confiou, ele o liberte / e agora o salve, se é verdade que ele o ama!” Cães numerosos me rodeiam furiosos, / e por um bando de malvados fui cercado. / Transpassaram minhas mãos e os meus pés, / e eu posso contar todos os meus ossos. My God, my God, why did you abandon me?
