Reflexão

Abraão é o primeiro elo de uma corrente que se estende ao longo da história da salvação. História que tem como centro e ponto de chegada a pessoa de Jesus Cristo. Abraão esperava a manifestação plena da vida. E isso só acontece com a presença e a prática de Jesus. Como as autoridades não aceitam a vida que Jesus oferece, planejam eliminá-lo. Para escândalo de seus conterrâneos, Jesus afirma: “Antes que Abraão existisse, Eu sou”. “Eu sou” recorda o nome Javé, com que Deus se deu a conhecer a Moisés, por ocasião da libertação do Egito. Jesus assume esse nome por ser o Filho de Deus que revela de modo pleno o projeto do Pai. Não comprometidos com Jesus, os chefes recolhem pedras para apedrejá-lo. Ameaçado de morte, Jesus se retira do Templo e se esconde. Hoje, como sempre, muitas pessoas são ameaçadas de morte. Por quê?

Reflection 

Abraham is the first link of a chain that extends throughout the history of salvation. History that has as center and point of arrival the person of Jesus Christ. Abraham hoped for the full manifestation of life. And that only happens with the presence and practice of Jesus. As The authorities do not accept the life that Jesus offers, they plan to eliminate him. For the scandal of his countrymen, Jesus states: "Before Abraham existed, I am." "I Am" recalls the name Javé, with which God made himself known to Moses on the occasion of the liberation of Egypt. Jesus assumes this name because he is the Son of God who reveals in a full way the Father's project. Not committed to Jesus, the bosses collect stones to stone him. Threatened with death, Jesus withdraws from the Temple and hides. Today, as always, many people are threatened with death. Why is That?

 Leitura do livro do Gênesis  17,3-9 – Naqueles dias, 3Abrão prostrou-se com o rosto por terra. 4E Deus lhe disse: “Eis a minha aliança contigo: tu serás pai de uma multidão de nações. 5Já não te chamarás Abrão, mas o teu nome será Abraão, porque farei de ti o pai de uma multidão de nações. 6Farei crescer tua descendência infinitamente. Farei nascer de ti nações, e reis sairão de ti. 7Estabelecerei minha aliança entre mim e ti e teus descendentes para sempre; uma aliança eterna, para que eu seja teu Deus e o Deus de teus descendentes. 8A ti e aos teus descendentes darei a terra em que vives como estrangeiro, todo o país de Canaã como propriedade para sempre. E eu serei o Deus dos teus descendentes”. 9Deus disse a Abraão: “Guarda a minha aliança, tu e a tua descendência para sempre”. – Palavra do Senhor.

Reading of the Book of Genesis 17.3-9 – in Those days, 3Abrão prostrated himself with his face by land. 4And God said to him, "Behold my covenant with thee: Thou shalt be the father of a multitude of nations. 5Thou shalt not call thee Abram, but thy name shall be Abraham, for I will make thee the father of a multitude of nations. 6I Will Grow your offspring infinitely. I will Make you nations born, and Kings will come from you. 7I will Establish my covenant between thee and Thy descendants forever; An everlasting covenant, that I may be thy God and the God of thy descendants. 8A you and your descendants will give the land in which you live as a foreigner, the whole country of Canaan as a property forever. And I will be the God of your descendants. " 9God said to Abraham, "Keep my covenant, thou and thy offspring forever." – Word of the Lord.

Glória a Cristo, Palavra eterna do Pai, que é amor! Oxalá ouvísseis hoje a sua voz: / Não fecheis os corações como em Meriba! (Sl 94,8). Proclamação do evangelho de Jesus Cristo segundo João 8,51-59 – Naquele tempo, disse Jesus aos judeus: 51“Em verdade, em verdade, eu vos digo, se alguém guardar a minha palavra, jamais verá a morte”. 52Disseram então os judeus: “Agora sabemos que tens um demônio. Abraão morreu e os profetas também, e tu dizes: ‘Se alguém guardar a minha palavra, jamais verá a morte’. 53Acaso és maior do que nosso pai Abraão, que morreu, como também os profetas? Quem pretendes tu ser?” 54Jesus respondeu: “Se me glorifico a mim mesmo, minha glória não vale nada. Quem me glorifica é o meu Pai, aquele que vós dizeis ser o vosso Deus. 55No entanto, não o conheceis. Mas eu o conheço e, se dissesse que não o conheço, seria um mentiroso como vós! Mas eu o conheço e guardo a sua palavra. 56Vosso pai Abraão exultou por ver o meu dia; ele o viu e alegrou-se”. 57Os judeus disseram-lhe então: “Nem sequer cinquenta anos tens e viste Abraão!?” 58Jesus respondeu: “Em verdade, em verdade vos digo, antes que Abraão existisse, eu sou”. 59Então eles pegaram em pedras para apedrejar Jesus, mas ele escondeu-se e saiu do templo. – Palavra da salvação.

Gospel

Glory to Christ, eternal Word of the Father, that is love! I hope you would listen to your voice today:/Do not closed the hearts as in Meriba! (Ps 94.8). Proclamation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ according to John 8,51-59 – at That Time Jesus said to the Jews: 51 "verily, verily, I say unto you, if one keeps my word, he shall never see death." 52Then the Jews Said, "Now We know you have a demon. Abraham died and the prophets too, and you say, ' If someone keeps my word, you will never see death. ' 53Chance are you greater than our Father Abraham, who died, as well as the prophets? Who do you want to be? " 54Jesus replied: "If I glorify myself, my glory is worthless. Who glorifies me is my Father, the one you say is your God. 55However, you do not know him. But I know him, and if I said I didn't know him, I'd be a liar like you! But I know him, and I keep his word. 56Your father Abraham exulted to see my day; He saw him and rejoated. " 57The Jews told him then: "Not even 50 years you have and seen Abraham!?" 58Jesus replied: "Verily, verily I say unto you, before Abraham existed, I am." 59Then They took stones to stone Jesus, but he hid himself and left the temple. – Word of Salvation.

Salmo 104/105

O Senhor se lembra sempre da aliança! Procurai o Senhor Deus e seu poder, / buscai constantemente a sua face! / Lembrai as maravilhas que ele fez, / seus prodígios e as palavras de seus lábios! Descendentes de Abraão, seu servidor, / e filhos de Jacó, seu escolhido, / ele mesmo, o Senhor, é nosso Deus, / vigoram suas leis em toda a terra. Ele sempre se recorda da aliança, / promulgada a incontáveis gerações; / da aliança que ele fez com Abraão / e do seu santo juramento a Isaac.

The Lord always remembers the Covenant! Seek the Lord God and his power, constantly seek his face! /Remember The wonders he has done,/his prodigies and the words of his lips! Descendants of Abraham, his servant,/and Sons of Jacob, his chosen one,/himself, the Lord, is our God,/their laws in all the Earth. He always remembers the Covenant,/promulgated to countless generations; /Of the Covenant he made with Abraham/and his Holy oath to Isaac.the Lord, glorify him. /To him praise, Honor and Glory eternally!
