Eis que estás curado.

Behold, you are healed.

Reflexão

Em Jerusalém, centro do poder econômico, religioso e político, Jesus depara-se com uma multidão de doentes. Toma a iniciativa e, sem nada exigir, restitui a saúde a um paralítico que havia muitos anos esperava por uma remota cura. O recém-curado sai transitando livremente no meio da multidão. Em vez de celebrar a nova vida do ex-paralítico e congratular-se com Jesus que o libertou da paralisia, os judeus ficam indignados contra um e outro por fazerem “essas coisas em dia de sábado”. Ao encontrar mais tarde o homem que foi curado, Jesus o chama à conversão, para que sua libertação seja completa. Jesus se coloca a favor da vida e da libertação das pessoas; seus adversários, ao invés, preferem mantê-las paralisadas e oprimidas.

Reflection 

In Jerusalem, the center of economic, religious and political power, Jesus is in a crowd of sick people. It Takes the initiative and, with nothing to demand, restores health to a paralytic who had many years hoped for a remote cure. The newly cured comes out transiting freely in the midst of the crowd. Instead of celebrating the new life of the Ex-paralítico and congratulating himself with Jesus who freed him from paralysis, the Jews are outraged at each other for doing "these things on a Sabbath day." When He later found the man who was healed, Jesus calls him to conversion, so that his deliverance may be complete. Jesus puts himself in favour of life and the liberation of people; Their opponents instead prefer to keep them paralyzed and oppressed.

Leitura da profecia de Ezequiel 47,1-9.12 – Naqueles dias, 1o anjo fez-me voltar até a entrada do templo e eis que saía água da sua parte subterrânea na direção leste, porque o templo estava voltado para o oriente; a água corria do lado direito do templo, a sul do altar. 2Ele fez-me sair pela porta que dá para o norte, e fez-me dar uma volta por fora, até a porta que dá para o leste, onde eu vi a água jorrando do lado direito. 3Quando o homem saiu na direção leste, tendo uma corda de medir na mão, mediu quinhentos metros e fez-me atravessar a água: ela chegava-me aos tornozelos. 4Mediu outros quinhentos metros e fez-me atravessar a água: ela chegava-me aos joelhos. 5Mediu mais quinhentos metros e fez-me atravessar a água: ela chegava-me à cintura. Mediu mais quinhentos metros, e era um rio que eu não podia atravessar. Porque as águas haviam crescido tanto, que se tornaram um rio impossível de atravessar, a não ser a nado. 6Ele me disse: “Viste, filho do homem?” Depois, fez-me caminhar de volta pela margem do rio. 7Voltando, eu vi junto à margem muitas árvores, de um e de outro lado do rio. 8Então ele me disse: “Estas águas correm para a região oriental, descem para o vale do Jordão, desembocam nas águas salgadas do mar, e elas se tornarão saudáveis. 9Aonde o rio chegar, todos os animais que ali se movem poderão viver. Haverá peixes em quantidade, pois ali desembocam as águas que trazem saúde; e haverá vida aonde chegar o rio. 12Nas margens junto ao rio, de ambos os lados, crescerá toda espécie de árvores frutíferas; suas folhas não murcharão e seus frutos jamais se acabarão: cada mês darão novos frutos, pois as águas que banham as árvores saem do santuário. Seus frutos servirão de alimento e suas folhas serão remédio”. – Palavra do Senhor.

Glória a vós, Senhor Jesus, / primogênito dentre os mortos! Criai em mim um coração que seja puro, / dai-me de novo a alegria de ser salvo! (Sl 50,12.14) – Proclamação do evangelho de Jesus Cristo segundo João 5,1-16 – 1Houve uma festa dos judeus, e Jesus foi a Jerusalém. 2Existe em Jerusalém, perto da porta das Ovelhas, uma piscina com cinco pórticos, chamada Betesda em hebraico. 3Muitos doentes ficavam ali deitados: cegos, coxos e paralíticos. 4De fato, um anjo descia, de vez em quando, e movimentava a água da piscina, e o primeiro doente que aí entrasse, depois do borbulhar da água, ficava curado de qualquer doença que tivesse. 5Aí se encontrava um homem que estava doente havia trinta e oito anos. 6Jesus viu o homem deitado e, sabendo que estava doente há tanto tempo, disse-lhe: “Queres ficar curado?” 7O doente respondeu: “Senhor, não tenho ninguém que me leve à piscina quando a água é agitada. Quando estou chegando, outro entra na minha frente”. 8Jesus disse: “Levanta-te, pega a tua cama e anda”. 9No mesmo instante, o homem ficou curado, pegou a sua cama e começou a andar. Ora, esse dia era um sábado. 10Por isso, os judeus disseram ao homem que tinha sido curado: “É sábado! Não te é permitido carregar tua cama”. 11Ele respondeu-lhes: “Aquele que me curou disse: ‘Pega tua cama e anda’”. 12Então lhe perguntaram: “Quem é que te disse: ‘Pega tua cama e anda’?” 13O homem que tinha sido curado não sabia quem fora, pois Jesus se tinha afastado da multidão que se encontrava naquele lugar. 14Mais tarde, Jesus encontrou o homem no templo e lhe disse: “Eis que estás curado. Não voltes a pecar, para que não te aconteça coisa pior”. 15Então o homem saiu e contou aos judeus que tinha sido Jesus quem o havia curado. 16Por isso, os judeus começaram a perseguir Jesus, porque fazia tais coisas em dia de sábado. – Palavra da salvação.

Glory be unto You, Lord Jesus,/Firstborn among the dead! Create in me a heart that is pure, give me again the joy of being saved! '" 12Then They asked him, "Who told you, ' Take your bed and walk '?" 13The man who had been healed did not know who was out, for Jesus had departed from the multitude that was in that place. 14Later, Jesus found the man in the temple and said to him, "Behold, Thou art healed. Do not sin again, lest anything worse happen to you. " 15Then The man came out and told the Jews that Jesus had healed him. 16Therefore, the Jews began to pursue Jesus, because he did such things on Sabbath day. – Word of Salvation.

Conosco está o Senhor do universo! / O nosso refúgio é o Deus de Jacó. O Senhor para nós é refúgio e vigor, / sempre pronto, mostrou-se um socorro na angústia; / assim não tememos se a terra estremece, / se os montes desabam, caindo nos mares. Os braços de um rio vêm trazer alegria / à cidade de Deus, à morada do Altíssimo. / Quem a pode abalar? Deus está no seu meio! / Já bem antes da aurora, ele vem ajudá-la. Psalm 45/46

With us is the Lord of the universe! /Our refuge is the God of Jacob. The Lord for us is refuge and vigor,/always ready, showed a distress in anguish; /So we do not fear if the earth shuddens,/If the hills collapse, falling into the seas. The arms of a river come to bring joy/to the city of God, to the abode of the most High. /Who can Shake it? God is in your midst! /Already Well before dawn, he comes to help you.
